With Gameweek 10 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) nearing, our pundits are starting to finalise their teams before Saturday’s deadline.

FPL General, who has three top 500 finishes to his name, is fully committed to going without Mohamed Salah (£14.3m) and Erling Haaland (£14.8m) this season. He shares his latest thoughts below.

Just the 42 points, meaning that when Haaland finally blanked, I still managed to get a red arrow!

It turns out that having alternative forwards who continually don’t score goals isn’t the best counter strategy. That’s why improving that position is my priority for this week.

Not having Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.5m) did more damage, too. He’s coming in for Gameweek 10, regardless of what Mikel Arteta says about him. The initial Gabriel funding plan was to downgrade Matheus Cunha (£7.9m) to Enzo Fernandez (£6.7m). But with Cunha scoring against Brighton and Hove Albion while Enzo blanked, that bit didn’t work out too badly. 

Points on the bench are always frustrating, but I was never starting Pedro Porro (£5.5m) away to Everton. He’s likely to be the one making way for Gabriel. 

Meanwhile, captain Bruno Fernandes (£8.9m) left points on the table in that Brighton match. He had a couple of good opportunities to score, and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) hit the post from a chance he created.

At least he reached the defensive contributions (DefCon) threshold once more. Although a few big captaincy hauls are needed over the coming weeks.

        That's what they said about Salah and Wirtz at the beginning of the season. The only place you hear them mentioned now is the price drops.

      I know this might sound bit madness but, Semenyo or KDH.

      I know Semenyo is considered almost fixture proof but I don't think he does much away to City and KDH might finally do something (albeit Sunderland no pushover).

            I’d rather have Munoz but probably not worth a transfer unless you have 4-5. Guehi has been doing alright anyway, has set piece threat and defcons etc.

            You're GTG with selections the way they are, but I would strongly advise a rethink of Thiago as Captain. With the form Haaland is in it's unlikely he blanks at home.

          Not so long ago Mbuemo dropped in price, now he’s one of the hottest assets to own.
          Nice to see an owner who swallowed the price drop.

          On another note, look like we have less early kick offs this year, or am I wrong?

              My issue with Joao Pedro he just doesn't look like scoring he's had the fixtures to also against Sunderland, Brighton and Liverpool all at home, and Forest away blanked in every single one of them hasn't scored me points since GW4 I think it's time

                I hear you trust me. I am tempted to sell him to Wellbeck but part of me feels a bit torn. He is too good a player not to start clicking again.

                  Trust I am torn too that's why I have held off for a while lol but I have a feeling I take him out this gw and in true fpl fashion he starts banging goals...           Long story short, can't make transfers, but can free hit. Worth it to avoid playing Pedro, Cucurella and Kudus? Can see a grand total of 5 points from that merry bunch.

          Also have Senesi away at City, Dubravka home to Arsenal who will probably get me 2 between them.

            Cucu looks like scoring in any game, often takes positions of 2nd striker.

            Kudus, well he’s Kudus - roll of a dice.

            Senesi can rack up DefCons.

            Dubravka yeah that’s to a 2 pointer unless Arsenal turns to attacking team and let him rack up save points - unlikely.

            Would you triple up on Newcastle to target West Ham, this might be the play this week?
