Having highlighted Gareth Bale and Michu in the top five of our previous article ahead of their recent resurgence, we’re rolling out an updated version covering the last four Gameweeks.

Once again, we focus on those individuals who have offered the greatest goal threat without finding the net, in the hope that their respective displays are a sign of things to come.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Why are they saying Chelsea have a valuable away goal? It's not an 'away goal' the in true sense. Yes, it's a goal scored away from home, but Chelsea can't win this tie on away goals.. 😕

Someone says it every time on here. You'd have thought commentators and pundits would have cottoned on by now.

It's about time the away goals rule was scrapped anyway. All it does now is make the home team in the first leg more cautious. I didn't see the game today, so I can't comment on Prague, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Bad for H2H leagues bc you're overly reliant on one teams results.

As for your overall rank or points scored a case can be made for doubling up...

For example, Walcott / Cazorla & Mara / Hazard make up 4 of the top 7 mids this year.

Suarez to Aguero seems popular, I'm noot convinced though. Other than RVP and Sturridge who you have, I'd say the best strikers to own at the moment are Lambert, Cisse, Benteke and maybe Giroud or Fletcher. Take your pick.

Sorry posted below before I saw this.

My only "issue" w/ Lambert, Benteke or Fletcher is they are in that mid price / budget bracket, which then forces you into the Power 5 midfield mold...

Trying to avoid that for differential. Leader in my ML is up by 60+ and has the Power 5. My only shot is to get a power 3 up front. RvP / Sturridge / +?

Or you can keep a big 4 midfield and spend some money in defence. Either Baines or 3 "big team" defenders. An RVP/Sturridge frontline + Rooney/Aguero could score very well though. I would probably go Aguero just to cover City when they go on a goal-spree, and not double Utd in case of a 0-0.

@Santiagounreal: From your earlier reply... do you truly fancy Aguero over Roo next, say 4-6?

I ask b/c I have RvP and looking to move Suarez. Sitting on the decision though... not sure who to buy to make up ground in my ML.

Hey, just saw this now. I have concerns about Rooney being used out wide at the moment. He was playing practically left wing last two but that might be just down to the fixtures. They tried to neutralise the attack against Everton and Real so he did a lot of defending.

I couldn't exactly say I like City's form or Aguero's form either but we know they are a great team on their day and Aguero is as good a striker as you can find in the league...but form and of course the immediate fixture isn't exactly appealing...that said I'm tempted to gamble on it as I'm not mad about many alternatives in that higher price range.

Look at the height of the ball when Bale connects with it - much more difficult skill than an overhead lob.

          gotcha, agree w/ your points.

I was all set to go Aguero myself, until I saw the dreadful display vs Southampton... Now I face the same conundrum myself...

I'd probably still go w/ him based on high ceiling.

          Otherwise:
Cisse for fixtures and a punt (but kinda expensive)
Lambert is pure quality if you want to make another move to get money into your MID or DEF in the next week.

Same dilemma for me. Leaning towards Aguero at the moment. The form isn't the best, but it's better than Cisse and Adebayor. I don't really know why I don't think Lambert isn't a better pick. I guess I just can't believe that Southampton will score anywhere near as many goals as Man City over the rest of the year.

Players are protected for 10 days once they are unflagged. I think the same thing applies when a new player appears in the game. You can see Sissy is about to rise in FISO though, so clearly he is no longer protected.

Ya and Stoke have shown nothing lately. If they regain form, you don't have to worry about getting Bego back (since you'll prob have to buy him back for more money if you did), but instead get a very cheap Wilson who will be nailed back on soon enough

OK everyone, classic dilemma for this week I feel.

Both Demel and Wilkinson are both in my team currently. Both probably have around a 60% chance of playing at the moment, and both have tough fixtures. I have no free transfer. Stick or twist?

The problem is I don't really need to get rid of them because my other defenders are so strong and I have a wildcard coming up. I think stick.

It seems to be that Bale will rise tonight. If you had to take him in for the next GW, would you do it now? Or wait for the next week's return leg to be over? If I do it tonight, I should be able to save 0.2 of a million, assuming he'll triple rise this week. Btw, it's for a hit..

If you're subbing out someone with a blank, do it - fairly unlikely you'll regret getting rid of a player with a blank, even if there's an injury somewhere else in the team.

If you;re getting rid of someone with a fixture, wait.

I'll be getting him in at the last possible moment tonight.

If he gets injured, then so be it, but I would quite like the extra 0.2m that I'd save if I waited for the deadline.

I personally never worry about the injury bit, and I always try to stay ahead of the rises if it's someone I already knew I was always going to get in.

Now, that said, if you always do that, you should continue to do that, you earn profits, but once in a blue moon you will get burned by a late injury or news.

But if you always wait until the night before the matches, I'd continue to do so, so that all your giving up of profits is not for naught.

Whatever you do, be consistent IMO.

      * only exception to scenario 2 is if you MUST get someone in and there's not more budget to squeeze out.

Because it's for a hit I would be hesitant, but he's a special player so maybe. I just did it for free myself, as I am confident it's what I need to do going forward for the run in, and I'm not normally a fan of early transfers but if you have the sense that you're getting for him for the duration, then no reason to wait.

Do it now. I waited on Suarez's rise and regretted it. Injury/ red card highly unlikely.

I saw a good post earlier this week (shock horror), about how with many people struggling to field 11 there will be alot of teams playing 4 at the back so it's worth taking a 4 pointer and bringing in two attackers in place of your Pool cover and ensure you have 3 upfront. Am thinking Girioud and Cisse at the moment alongside Aguero.

Whilst researching Eintracht Frankfurt, which is a tad more exciting, believe it or not.

Can you explain this a bit more clearly? You're saying that you spend 4 points to switch a defender for an attacker essentially?

Touch and go there. But if you're going from a rubbish defender to a top attacker, and its a good transfer long term, it may be worth it.

Taarabt has been "threatening" for two years, not just the last four game weeks. Can't see the attraction myself... Step over, shimmy, step over, Row Z, both hands behind the head, audible exhale.

nice stats because he shoots so much, but ultimately his shots are poor, hence he doesn't score very often

His scores over the last 12 months or so haven't been too bad for a 5.8 though. If he rotates well with your other players, he's a good buy in my opinion.
