Last Mondayโ€™s Manchester derby afforded Sergio Aguero the perfect platform to serve Fantasy managers a reminder of his capabilities. Emerging from the bench late on, the Argentine weaved his way through the hostsโ€™ backline before thrashing the ball past David De Gea as Unitedโ€™s stuttering bid for the title continued:

Having helped clinch the league with virtually the last kick of the previous season, Aguero was firmly in many a managerโ€™s plans heading into the 2012/13 campaign. A knee problem sustained on the opening day at home to Southampton saw almost 500,000 jump off the bandwagon by the time September arrived and while Aguero returned to the first-team fold by Gameweek 5, heโ€™s yet to find the consistency that harvested 23 goals, nine assists and 30 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points in a devastating debut campaign.

Granted, Aguero has failed to mirror his own high standards thus far but has, nevertheless, delivered 10 goals and three assists from just 18 starts and, as he edges back towards full fitness following a recent knee problem, is clearly in the mood to deliver again. While United remain in pole position to wrestle the title back from Roberto Manciniโ€™s side, the remaining fixtures hand City the chance to rack up the points and at the very least cement second spot behind their rivals.

After a FA Cup semi-final with Chelsea this weekend, City entertain Wigan at the Etihad next Wednesday, while West Ham, Norwich and West Brom have all still to pay visit โ€“ the Baggies clash is yet to be rescheduled, meaning City still have a double Gameweek to follow. Bearing in mind they also have trips to Swansea and Reading, itโ€™s a fair assumption that Fantasy managers will be eyeing up City’s main assets with some anticipation.

Now down to 10.9 in FPL (9.9 in the Sky Sports game), Aguero has less than 5% ownership in FPL at present and, similar to David Silva, approaches the last few fixtures as a real differential. Providing heโ€™s 100% fit, the Argentine is surely set to start every match from here on in as Mancini attempts to save face in what has been a disappointing defence of the title. Ironically, if United sew up the title soon, owners of Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney may choose to freshen up their front three if Sir Alex Ferguson decides to rotate up top โ€“ a move to Aguero seems a strong tactic for the remaining matches, then, as the City forward looks to finish the season with a flourish once again.

    DDG
    Sagna, Demel, Riether
    Fellaini, Santi (c), Gerrard, Cabaye
    Suarez, Berba, Giroud

    (Robles, Hazard, Wilson, Dawson)

£1.9m in the bank and 1FT.

Gerrard, Suarez & Cabaye could all score well with decent games this week would you agree its best to hold the FT and use it on players for future doubles? Currently only have Robles, Dawson & Hazard with a post 33 DGW.

Already fully loaded on Arsenal too so Walcott would have to be a -4. Only person I want to beat activated the wc today which was annoying had hoped they would forget and only have 3 DGW players!!

Is this a wildcard? I don't think I'd double up on Liverpool. Spending 20 milliion on a couple of players without a future double gameweek is too much for me. I would take a gamble on Silva or Aguero.

Gerrard would have been Silva, but the doubts on him playing plus Gerrard playing Reading was too tempting. So will do Gerrard > Bale when he's fit.

Have a plan to get up to 7 playing DGW in 36 and only costing -4 in total over the next 3 weeks.

Is anyone else thinking that, at this stage of the season, the ticker might be qute misleading? As in the "easy" games now become games against teams fighting for their lives.

I was doubting my decision to get keep Enrique when looking at the ticker, but games against Fulham and, probably, Newcastle, with nothing to play for, are perhaps easier than games against, say, Sunderland, Villa etc. The flipside to this, of course, is that Liverpool themselves have little to play for...

Am I the only one not taking any hits this week?

Just can't see anyone else getting 4pt more than my single gameweekers - Benteke, Suarez, Mata and GJ.

I'm breaking the habit of a season and not taking one. Took two last week though, in preparation. That went well ๐Ÿ™‚

        good to hear...forward planning.

I see this double as part of an end of season plan that also involves another double coming up. Can't see the point in ditching the likes of Michu and Mata when they will be top of most peoole's team sheets come their doubles.

There were worse hits to take last week... check my transfer history ๐Ÿ™

(In answer to the original question, I'm most likely taking a hit as part of my end of season meltdown)

I feel the same. However, I took a hit to get Lambert but had the money for Rooney. I may regret that.

I'm getting out all the deadwood and bringing some wood that is ALIVE!!!!

so Bunn, Pearce and Punch are all lambs to the slaughter...

      Fabianski, Rafael and Fellaini IN

I'm happy with that going forward

That's smart actually, and I'd do the same if I had them. I've just got the one deadwooder Harte...but he will have to wait another week.

I think so seeing as he was dropped this week. I can see him playing both the next games. Him and Hazard are crucial to Chelsea's play.

Which teams still have a DGW to come after 33? Is it WBA, Wigan, City, Chelsea, Swansea & Spurs?

    Bring in Felliani for

    A) Mata

    Or

    B) Gerrard

I already have Suarez keeping until end of season but would lose 0.5 on mata

Is Remy => Suarez an absolutely stupid move?

Pros: Playing reading, due a goal
Cons: no DGW, pending suspension, need to catch up in my league and everyone else has him so hes far from a differential

get a DGW player or a future DGW player. RVP, Rooney, Aguero, Berba, Giroud. I would pick one of those.
