Our pre-season projections and Rate My Team tool are almost ready to go live in the Members Area. Over the past week we’ve seen a number of significant signings, notably at the Etihad, that have delayed our first set of numbers but, with the market seemingly settled for 24-hours, we’re now very close to going live with both, albeit with perhaps a big Gareth Bale caveat on the way.

Once again this season, the projections are based on the Rate My Team statistical model, developed by “Professor” Chris Atkinson, who some of you may have got to know via last season’s ScoutCast.

The Rate My Team model is built specifically to assess every player in the Premier League and return their expected values for Fantasy Premier League points in a given Gameweek. The system is a complex and thorough one which, of course, plots the probabilities of a player’s time on the pitch, their expected number of goals, assists, bonus points, yellow and red cards, clean sheets, own goals, goals conceded and saves. The strength of the opponent they are facing in a given Gameweek is also crucial; so every team has an attack and defence rating, every player a probability of playing a given match with injuries, suspensions and international absence factored in.

In the next day or so we will be publishing full projections for every Premier League player, plotting their total points, goals, assists etc for the entire season. These will include short-term projections offering a view of the opening six Gameweeks.

The projection tables will be fully sortable and you can assess FPL points per million value to help you run the rule over those crucial budget purchases.

In addition to the Projections, the full Rate My Team tool will also be going live shortly.

This can be used in a number of ways. Firstly, you can use it as a projections tool to predict what specific players will score, on average, over the next X number of Gameweeks. It includes a players table that can filtered by position or FPL cost and which can be extended to show any number of Gameweeks. You can also sort on “Value” to find those players projected to offer the best points per million return.

However, this is just one part of the functionality. Rate My Team can also be used to build a team from scratch, analyse your existing FPL lineup, recommend captains, vice captains your bench and bench order and allow you to model your future transfers.

The “Professor” and I will be creating some new movies explaining how the Projections and Rate My Team work in the next few days. Look out for them over the weekend and into next week.

A reminder that memberships for the coming season, giving you access to both the projections and Rate My Team tool, along with many other features, are available for the pre-season price of £12.50. Click here for further details, including an array of preview movies to demonstrate what’s on offer.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Indeed it does, sorry about that. Anyway, Suarez will seriously push Arsenal forward if he joins plus us fantasy managers would have Giroud as a great value striker for Arsenal's kind start as Suarez is suspended (six more games I think?).

It's all just a ruse between Suarez and Rogers to lure Arsenal into thinking they could land him when in fact he'll turn them down. Thus taking up valuable time wasting on Arsenal's part maybe even loosing other so called targets.

Suarez only wants to go to Madrid end of or stay at Pool.

Sydney- Tourist wise theres the obvious Harbour Bridge & Opera house, Manly (catch a ferrry from near the Opera house), Bondi, 3 Sisters Katoomba.

Football wise if you are in Sydney for the 11th of October you can see Syndey FC (Del Piero, Brett Emerton) vs Newcastle Jets (Heskey), pretty close to the city.

Or The Sydney Derby (Sydney Fc vs Western Sydney Wanderers) is on the 26th of October. Well worth a visit!

Adelaide- Catch the tram to Glenelg from the city, its prettty nice. The Barossa Valley (Wine and Food) is also very close to Adelaide and is pretty popular (Im going there in December).

Podolski is on £100,000 a week. Henry was on £130,000 a week in his final season at Arsenal.

They have repeatedly said they will be breaking the wage structure this season. They have already freed up close to £30 million a year in wages from released and sold players.

If Bale DOES go to Real, I wonder how that will affect the RMTs. How will people spend the extra cash? Will RVP enjoy a resurgence? Or more premium defenders appearing? Or upgrades to the "third striker" slot?

well, at first he must be replaced by a big hitter in midfield, zo then you make about 2-3m .. which can be spend everywhere. Don;t think many will invest in defense, more likely upgrade 3rd striker or 4th mid

Really getting my hopes up for Suarez now.. Much prefer him as a signing to Higuain as Higuain would have killed Giroud's place in the team. Suarez could play there or just as easily on the left of the front 3 where Podolski was playing.

Federer won 12 of his first 14 grand slam finals, and I think the only two he lost were against Nadal at the french, who at his peak (before he crocked himself) was the best clay court player ever. His record for 23 consecutive grand slam semi's is ridiculous aswell.

Chelsea have a blank GW 2 and United in GW3, wouldn't pick expensive Chelsea anyway

I'd pick Lampard over Hazard regardless. You only get 3 points for being tripped up in the box, 5 for scoring the penalty.

Not convinced Jose will use Lampard as much as Lampard would like.....

Exactly, I know he likes him but I need a nailed on player.

Fair enough. I don't think Hazard is any more nailed on than Lampard with the amount of attacking midfielders they have.

I'm happy to take the risk on Lamps. I don't see Mourinho being as stubborn as Benitez and leaving one of their best players / leaders on the bench until they need him to rescue the game. I think Terry will nail down a place too.
