Were you off to flyer or were you let down by missed penalties, needless bookings and late consolation goals? Or even Romelu Lukaku? Yeah, the less said the better.

Either way, like Lukaku, the season is still young, and there’s plenty of Gameweeks to turn things around. To help you out, this term we’ll be providing you with a regular view of Paddy Power’s odds to add some further data to your decision-making. Here’s the current clean sheet and anytime goalscorer odds for the Gameweek ahead.

Anytime Goalscorer Odds – Gameweek 2

Monday night’s clash is a headline-maker in waiting and Paddy Power has Robin van Persie at evens to get his name on the scoresheet at anytime and add to his brace of superb strikes at the Liberty.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five visits to Old Trafford and Van Persie has six goals in 18 appearances versus the Blues. Paddy is putting his neck on the line though by giving punters their money back if RVP finds the back of the net against Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester City are well backed to find goals at newly promoted Cardiff and striker Sergio Aguero is the most fancied to score anytime over Gameweek two at odds of 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Tottenham’s new £26 million striker, Roberto Soldado, is up there with the Dutchman. He opened his account from the penalty spot last week and bagged himself three bonus points in the process in addition to a pair of Europa League strikes earlier today. At 4/7, Spurs are red-hot favourites to beat Swansea and Soldado is also 5/6 to find the net at anytime in Sunday’s clash.

Despite his penalty miss against Liverpool at Anfield, Stoke’s Jon Walters is surprisingly the top ranked midfielder in our odds listing. Paddy Power has him at 7/5 to score anytime when Ian Holloway’s Palace side head up to the Britannia on Saturday.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is ranked next at 6/4 and Theo Walcott is also well backed to take advantage of the Fulham defence at Craven Cottage in the opening match of the weekend.

Despite being without crocked skipper Vincent Kompany, City top the clean sheet odds list, and are well fancied by Paddy to escape from Cardiff with a second shut-out of the season. They are 11/10 to keep the newly promoted Bluebirds at bay.

It’s worth noting that Southampton make the top five in our list. The Saints conceded just nine goals in their last ten games at the end of last term, and face a Sunderland team who managed just three shots on target from 21 efforts against Fulham. That’s just a 14% accuracy rate and one of the key reasons why Paddy Power is offering 13/10 on no Sunderland goalscorer this week. A perfect excuse to jump on the Luke Shaw bandwagon.

The Stoke defence is also well fancied to come good – neglected in Gameweek one due to the trip to Anfield. Paddy are offering 5/4 for Mark Hughes’ men to keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace who struggled to make an impact against Spurs last time out.

Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross, as always, offer a tempting goal threat with odds of 6/1 and 8/1 respectively for an anytime goal.

    Ivan > Zab for -4

OK I've been thinking about this all day and decided to do it, mainly as...

    * I always intended to make the move of Ivan > ??
    * The price move has forced my hand, I can't work with his 0.1 rise
    * mun/blank/eve vs car/HUL/sto
    * I'm still in 'profit' given GW1 points between them
    * OK so the point gap could have been greater, it wasn't but it was a gamble to get Ivan for 1 week to try and maximise the potential points difference.
    * I have Hazard and Ivan anyway so still need to deal with them for the blank.
    * RMT says this is a good move over the next few GWs.

Is my reasoning sound or have I talked myself into thinking this is the right move?

I see the majority are going for Silva for ManC MF cover, but has anyone considered:

Toure: Freekicks, pretty definite starter, loves a run at defense from MF. Considering his opponents are Cardiff + Hull, both likely to be on the back foot for the majority of the game(s) combined with the pace of Navas and the trickery of the rest of the ManC forwards Toure could fins himself taking a lot of FKs from dangerous positions.

Navas: Looked blistering against Newc. Didn't stop tearing it up until the final whistle. Looks to have a decent cross on him too. Think I saw him take a corner, but I'm not sure he's always given that responsibility. I know his previous assist record wasn't fantastic, but this is a new league, new manager, new team and two newly promoted opponents. I wouldn't bet against him getting a few assists in the next 2 games.

Only 0.5 price difference though? and Silva is an assist machine and always pops up with a goal. Yaya was value last year imo, not this one. And Navas looked impressive against a ten man tired newcastle. Hardly a massive test no?

My GW1 was okay, but I am now doing the unthinkable and considering a GW2 wildcard. Already took -4pts for Terry/Lukaku > Shaw/Soldado, but questions marks around Koscielny, Tonev fail and the thought of shifting Hazard to Silva in prep for the blank have me considering it. Also not sure Soldado was the right choice as I need a little more in the midfield - even Tonev to Sinclair or Rosicky

Steady my hand boys. Tell me it is a long season. Harbour the price drops and use creativity to make it a charge.

    Migs (Davis)
    Coleman Shaw Collins (Kosc Chester)
    Haz Coutinho Mirrals Kim (Tonev)

Actually, just typing the team out has helped me to think again...

Will Remy be fit this gameweek, got to get rid of Lukaku and Anelka, decent option with good games

Davie Provan made a really interesting comment during Monday night's game regarding the Manchester City forward line. If my memory serves me well, he opined that Dzeko had the centre forward position "nailed down" and that the other three strikers would have to make do with playing time round about it him. I've never been Dzeko's greatest fan but If Mr Provan knows his stuff, he's bloody hard to ignore at 7.5m isn't he?

How would he know this? Pellegrini is much more flexible in his tactics, often changing formations during games.

Wonder how many people will transfer Townsend in following his goal and pair of assists. He had a cracking game this evening.

Right did: Lukaku->Soldado last night and Kosc->Zab tonight.

    Going into GW2 with:

    --------------Mignolet-------------
    -------Ivan-Zaba-Jagielka------
    -Hazard-Walcott-Mirallas-Nolan-
    ----Dzeko-Soldado-Sturridge----

    Bench: Marshall, Chester, Turner, Jedinak

    Looking good?!

As long as you have a plan for GW3, with Hazard and Ivan on blanks.

Yep I do. Hazard will most likely be benched and Ivan downgraded to a cheaper defender who has proven himself two weeks in a row 😉

    Good evening all,

Thoughts on Captain for this GW?

    RVP, Dzeko, Silva, Mirallas, Coutinho?

I’m thinking Dzeko & RVP (VC). All opinions appreciated.

      Rvp (c) Silva (vc)
dzeko too risky to capt (already a risk to start)

    From FiSO FORUMS Admin:

I have reworked things to give an approximate CTC view but it is just that until further notice - an approximation. The change on the FPL side has seriously affected the accuracy of CTC - please use it as a guide only for the time being.
