The draw for the first round of the 2019/20 FFS Cup FFS Cup

We reveal the results of the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VIII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Defending champion Wild Rover is safely into the next round after edging past frankm8 by 82 points to 78 to keep his chances of reclaiming the silverware alive, whilst a quintet of former winners also make the draw – Jonty, Goonerdave, donnellyc, sleepingmaster and MCH all still harbour hopes of picking up the trophy for a second time.

The Gameweek 12 match-ups brought the first major cup shock, as TitusShambles, the top-ranked manager, was sent tumbling out by Germanphil, who looks a giant-killer to avoid in the next round. Some of our new moderators such as Greenwindmill, Applebonkers, Ryan and Spencer all sailed into the next round.

Amongst the site regulars, the likes of Shipsontrev, The Stock, Christina, The 3rdTurd, Daniel, Eunuch Jelly, superzlatan, Butters, The Shadow, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shinpad, Isacki and Pepin have also progressed.

A special mention goes to Hamp, who produced 98 points in the first round – the highest haul of any manager. He had captain Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, Romelu Lukaku, Oscar, Philippe Coutinho and Per Mertesacker amongst his main protagonists. King of Burgers also made it through- he was the lowest-scoring winner, having amassed 55 points.

Click here for a full rundown of the First Round ties – we’ll be rolling out Round Two over the next day or so.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Justifying the Baines (or anyone with poor fixtures) to Jagielka switch:

    100% nailed on.
After the shockers of Arsenal and United away, a good set of fixtures most of the way through to the January wildcard.
CB over full back bonus point preference for clean sheets.
Other then Coleman and Baines, the next best attacking defender in the Everton lineup.
One of the few sides not tinkering with the defence, hopefully the myth of avoiding Everton defenders until post Christmas is final over.

    Have I missed anything?

I've brought him in already, could see a clean sheet at Stoke this weekend. Plus have oer options to play for those two away games. That, and really didn't fancy a negative score from Chico when he faces city.

Sarnab...re your mocking at my suggestion that Distin could shift to LB with Baines out

    From Wikipedia

"He is left-footed and plays as a central defender, and is also capable of playing at left-back"

    Also

    http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sylvain-distin-happy-how-adapted-3343820

It might be Oviedo, who maybe suits Martinez' style more, although he can't defend whereas Baines (and Distin) can.

I really want him as I believe he could be a sweet differential and I am chasing 85 pts loss to my ML
      leader.

But I'd need to loose Oscar or Rooney and Sess to someone like Lukaku and then Wally, for a hit though. Not an easy decision here :/

What has Juan Mata got to do to get into this Chelsea side? Even in UCL, Willian and Ramires favoured to him. Could have rested Oscar even. Hope United try a cheeky £50m bid in January, Mata needs to get into the Spanish squad!

We've resolved this. Leo Messi did enter two teams and we're going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this and eliminate the team he entered last.

We've replaced this team with the next best qualifying team which was Caladan Brood.

Caladan Brood scored 61 points in GW12 so Damo still won the tie.

Leo is left with one team - the team he entered originally which won his tie against NaTSTER.

The results are now fully updated accordingly.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Well it's hypothetical but my take on it was we had to eliminate the team he entered second and therefore replace that with a new qualifier.

Luckily, wasn't a call that mattered in this instance.

Can't happen again, either, we will put checks in to ensure it.
