Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

      Just clicked the "play on" banner at the top of this page. Does anyone know if this £10k prizepool is a gameweek one game? Surely they need 2000 entries to cover, and they only have 85 so far.

      In the early stages it's not about differentials, it's about staying with the pack.

      Try to make sure you're in the top 500,000 after the first three GWs.

          hennessey played in the last friendly, he was awesome so I think speroni isn't that nailed on. Hennessey played for wolves when they were in the premiership and was one of the best keepers at that time

      So what formation are you playing?? I've done some research into where your funds should be invested. I'm not saying what you should do but it is interesting to see. Have a look.

      The results are taking as an average fro he top 8 from last year in each positoon(not includi Suarez).

      Firstly I found the average score from the top 8 in each position. The results were as follows::

      Defenders---161
      Midfielders--178
      Forwards-----174. Obviously higher if Suarez was counted.

      From this it looks as though midfielders are the best but I dug deeper. I looked at the average minutes played for each position. The results again::

      Defenders-3000
      Midfielders-2566
      Forwards-2397

      From his I divided the minutes played by the total score to get my first figure::

      Defenders---18.6
      Midfielders---14.44
      Forwards-----13.77

      I left this in my notes page on my phone and looked at each of the players cost THIS year. I found this::

      Defender-- 6.43
      Midfielders--9.065
      Forwards--9.5

      I then minused these values from 10 to reward having a low value and get these:

      Defenders--3.57
      Midfieldes---0.935
      Forwards----0.5

      I then added together the first figure and second figure to get this.

      Defenders--18.6+3.57=22.17
      Midfielders--14.44+0.935=15.375
      Forwards---13.77+0.5=14.27

      Before finally dividing by two to get my final values. I got this::
      Defenders--11.085
      Midfielders-- 7.6875
      Forwards-- 7.135

      From this research I have gathered that defenders for their prices are better value then midfielders and strikers. I am not saying spend 6-7 on all defenders but I think that before you just get an uber cheap defence I would suggest thinking about their value first. Sorry if this hasn't helped you but has helped me.

          Strikers and midfielders tend to get more points but my calculations show that it is worth investing some money into defence. Helped me even if it hasn't helped you.

        It sounds solid but it's not, you need low price midfielders and strikers in your team if you're going 4-3-3 and they score very poorly

        Sanchez game time concerns me. Looks like Wenger is in no rush to give him 90 minutes.
