We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/sep/22/-sp-jorge-mendes-agent-third-party-ownership-players
Jorge Mendes. What a snake. The part about Bebe is insane. How is this man not banned from the profession. Oh yeah, FIFA $$$He is living the dream tbh
GW9 is a terrible week for keeper changes, all the cheapies have gruesome fixtures
Foster might look decent if Lescott allows WBA to solidify 😉
big if though
want rid of DDG that week, just not sure who to get in
The worse the fixture, the more save points.
good point
Don Vito or Forster, am leaning towards Don Vito due to already having ClyneI depends if you think you'll need the 0.5m elsewhere.
no idea but it's nice to have it in case I do
I won't sweat too much over my Heaton/Gilks combo.
that makes sense, tempted by that as well as I already have Gilks, so a swap to Heaton = no rotation worries, and Burnley aren't scoring enough to warrant attacking interest
Yep. I've had them from the start. Burnley conceded 37 goals in 46 matches last season. And 3 clean sheets in a row in the last 3 weeks puts Heaton up as the highest scoring goalkeeper so far.
The one differential that's paid off for me.Might go for it, will see what GW9 brings
I like Schmeichel as well, but Burnley look like a better defensive unitWonder what you think to this, by the way?

In the opening match against Chelsea, Heaton should have been sent off for bringing down Costa in the area and Burnley should have been awarded a penalty. Costa was booked for diving, but it would have been so sweet.I've heard it said before, if I get Heaton I may do it
I have a Mannone-Guzan rotation - Guzan has QPR(a) week 9, which I consider pretty decent 😉
Guys I'm in a bit of a panic over Mata dropping either tonight or very soon.
My team:
Forster, McCarthy
Ivan, Chambers, PVA, Duff, Moore
Mata, Sterling, Siggy, Tadic, Boyd
Aguero, Costa, Pelle
Only £0.2 m in the bank. Mata to Ramsey?no... ramsey dropping too.. go for mata >> chadli/lamela
Ramsey isn't dropping, he's already dropped last night. I don't mind if he drops but still plays for me. I'm not touching those Spurs players mate with their next 3 games. How about Silva?
Ramsey's a decent long-term pick - but would you go for Di Maria or Fabregas if you could afford them?
I would go for them if I could afford them and if Chelsea's immediate fixtures were much better. I just don't see anyone in my team worth downgrading to afford them though.
It's the cost of owning Aguero, I suppose?
I'd definitely take Ramsey over Silva.Yeah, hopefully Aguero shines through soon. Although as a United fan I'd rather Aguero and his team mates blank for the rest of the season!
Mata to adm, downgrade tadic or pelle
I'm a United fan but this is something I can't bring myself to do. Southampton have cracking fixtures and I'm sure both those players will deliver over the next few weeks.
Get oezil, he is back now
I have been considering him actually, hmmm.
Which option would you go with?
A) Forster - Rooney - Henderson
B) Krul - Welbeck - Pelle (-4)B
B (just)
2
B
So will Arsenal v Spurs be a goal fest again?
I hope not :p
Last 4 matches weren't exactly high scoring.
That's why I asked.
Dunno, Poch's teams don't seem to concede a lot.
Think I'm happy with my team now;
Krul
Chambers / Wilson / Pieters
Ramsey / di Maria / Sterling / Fabregas
Costa / Falcao / Welbeck
Bench: McCarthy/ Duff / Wisdom / King
Krul / Pieters and Ramsey are only question
marks for meRooney> Falcao
Or
Ramsey> ADMB for me. Di Maria is a beast right now
B
Yes, my thoughts exactly
B in general, but I expect Ramsey to do well versus Spurs. Those games are usually goal fests.
B
Caulker is definately worth having. averaging 2 shots inside the box a game, he's like a midfielder with an added bonus of getting 4 points for the occasional clean sheet.
unless QPR start to look more solid I'm not keeping him
Attacking threat should be an addition to, not a substitute for, clean sheetswhy I'm looking at Moreno > Wisdom/Moore to free up funds for Rooney > Aguero (at some point in the near future)
Spot on JK. Only Baines is worth it for his attacking threat, not least because his penalty duties.
^^ this no point keeping a defender solely for his goal threat i am sure u will have him benched most of the times he bags a goal
'Occasional clean sheet' is being a bit optimistic 😉
schneiderlin a potential double riser?
The way the price rises are this year I'd say no.
Nah not a hope
probably not, but does it matter anymore? What're your thoughts?
Price changes are so few that making the odd quid has become pretty much irrelevant. If anything it makes it more important?
i am on WC and mostly have the players i want in my final draft as some are rising randomly despite being nowhere near on fiso
spare spots are going to double rise punts, as futile as it isah, if on a WC nothing to lose. Give it a go!
An opinion or two would be most appreciated. On my wild card? Any criticism, advise, mocking ect on my proposed team most welcome...
A/B or C?
A)
Scmichael
PVA / Chambers / Wisdom
Ramsey / Fab / Sterling / ADM / Siggy
Aguero / Costa
Subs: Hamer, Jutkiewics, Duff, Hutton
B)
Scmichael
Baines / PVA / Wisdom
Fab/ Sterling / ADM / Siggy
Aguero / Costa / Welbeck
Subs: Hamer, 4.7, Duff, Moore
C)
Scmichael
Baines / PVA / Clyne
Fab / Sterling / ADM / Siggy
Falcoa / Costa / Welbeck
Subs: Hamer, 4.7, Duff, MooreThat's not a question. I am on my wild card...
B or C - can't choose! Siggy for me is overrated though on this site (I know I'll get shot down for that comment)
No that's a fair comment. He is somewhat of a bargain though.
Scmichael?
Yeah I think he will be the budget keeper of choice this year. Had some tough fixtures. I expect some clean sheets and a few save points.
Of cause I could be very wrong also...
A rare RMT please.
Bego
Lescott Ivan Clyne
Siggy Fab DI Maria Sterling Ramsey
Welbeck Costa
Naismith Moore HuttonYou on your WC?
No.
In that case, its a great team. I'd save ya transfer
Ta. I get this team by making 2 FT. Moreno to Lescott
Tadic to Di Maria.I would have chambers instead of lescott myself, in that case.
Interesting. Will have a look, Cheers.
Daft to do Rooney to aguero for a -4 hit? Can afford it just
Ddg, myhill
Collocini, van aanholt, roberston, wisdom, taylor
Fab, siggy, ADM, sterling, Marley
Rooney, Costa, pelle
Obvs want to sort out defence after such as de gea, collocini and roberston afterNot on wildcard
Normally, id say do it.
But I'm worried by the Roma game.I did exactly this if it helps. Roma game is a tad worrying, but either way man city have great upcoming fixtures, and aguero was a pest against chelsea so imagine what he will do with the lower grade teams. Plus Rooney in the hole doesn't look appealing at all
Play
A Wilson ( Have Bego in goal )
Or
B Naylor
Will Stoke finally get a home cleanie ?
Thanks ??????anyone getting rid of Siggy? Very few midfield slots and i need someone i can be confident of playing every week...
Could do:
Siggy -> Di Maria
Rooney -> WelbeckSiggy has played every minute so far, hasn't he?
Only blanked because he had 10 men, was unlucky not to get an assist as well. Keep him
great. thank you
Balo to xxx???
Forster Mccarthy
Pieters clyne moreno (moore naylor)
Adm fabs sterling siggy 9boyd)
BALO costa pelle
2FT, 1.2Ulloa and upgrade Moreno
Ulloa... Really? Certainly that is a trap
Balo was the trap.
Welbeck
yup.
stick [Balotelli]
OR
twist [Pelle]?
(I planned enough for Aguero but will he play?)Get kun
Aguero imo. Man City need to catch Chelsea.
Congrats on the win, just 6 points in it 😥
no way?
I thought you had us!At one point it was 502 all!
wow, i missed the drama unfolding... 🙁
Good game then mate!Just make sure you win the next one! 😉
Team India know what is expected 😀
Twist to Pelle
thats what i've been thinking.
Get Aguero for the game against us
Currently my team is ranked 1212 globally. Captain selection has been on point so far but this week is tough.
Would you pick:
A) Di Maria (Home) vs West Ham
B) Chelsea (Home) vs Aston Villa
C) Anyone of the following:
My team:
BEGOVIC
BAINES - BERTRAND - DIER
DI MARIA - SIG - STERLING - RAMSEY - FABREGAS
WELBECK - DIEGO COSTA
Bench:
MYHILL, VLAAR, BOJAN, WISDOMI've got di Maria and Costa. Going Costa for
Captain this week.Ps 20000 I overall game, and there won't be many higher than you on here!
You tell us!
Chambers is incredible value, but why get Chambers when I can afford Baines
Indeed, GB, just might wait one more week for Chambers though as if I need a hit for a defender Baines is the one more likely to repay it
Wish I kept hold of him when Mertesacker returned, looking to get him in over the next few GW's
same, it's just not a high priority atm
Might wait for GW9 or 10JK have you brought Di Maria in for Ramsey?
Nope. Marney
Wow. guts.
Predicted points for Pelle this week?
7-8
Forster - (Gilks)
Terry - PvA - Moore (Coloccini) (Ferdinand)
Fabregas - Sterling - Ramsey - Siggy (Marney)
Costa (c) - Rooney - Pelle
1 FT - £1.0 in the bank
Think I need Di Maria, Ramsey the likely transfer out
Would you take a hit to upgrade Ferdinand/Coloccini to Duff or is my defense okay for this GW?Ramsey out before the derby is madness.
Yes ozil took his place last game but that's no guarantee he won't be put back next game. Not owning Di Maria is scary, but your right Ramsey has the potential to score a decent amount of points on Saturday
On Wildcard lads, some final touches
A) Baines, Azpilicueta, Moore/Wisdom
B) Jagielka, Lovren, Azpilicueta
C) Baines, Lovren, Wilson
Schmeichel / Foster (very good rotation)
Chambers, Duff , XXX, XXX, XXX
ADM, Fabregas, Sterling, Siggy , Ramsey
Costa, Welbeck, Ulloa
ThanksIm having the same problem. The problem I think with this choice is that every week you have a benching issue.
See my proposed teams abovewith injuries, cards, rotation issues, last minute injuries (like sanchez this week) a strong bench is a must
Could disagree more! I hate an a benching dilemma, what's more I can count on two fingers in eight years playing this game when I'd wished to have 'strong' bench. You want as much as possible in your first 11
All of those are too expensive for me but A if pushed.
u mean too much money in defense? i was to consider kun but then he is an injury waititng to happen i dont want to go through last year's mess. Only other striker i would consider is falcao
You need a saints defender in there. Clyne/Bertrand, Azpi, Moore. Baines is good if he gets you attacking points (penalty this weekend) however Everton have been swiss cheese for clean sheets. Liverpool, Man U and Aston Villa up next. Would be surprised for a clean sheet against any of them.
i have southampton keeper
fair point for everton defenseI had double Southampton all last year with Lovren/Fonte and they raked in the points for me. Ride it until it slows. Both Clyne and Bertrand have proven to be an attacking threat too. Clyne with the wingback and Bertrand with most touches in the offensive third of a defender. Otherwise I think your team is very strong. I don't think this issue will make or break you. Take a chance.
What do you think?
*Who to captain?
*Any Transfer to do?
*Lineup like this?
Mannone
Ivanovic --- Clyne --- Wisdom
Hazard --- Sterling --- ADM --- Siggy
Costa --- Rooney --- Naismith
Subs: Krul, PVA, Dummet, JWPSend me your log in
Naismith out Ulloa in. He's fixture proof so far.
Any tips? Already took -4 hit
Krul (Myhill)
Clyne Duff Wisdom (Moreno, Rose)
Sterling Siggy Fab ADM (Clattermole)
Ulloa Costa Rooney
3.1 in bankgood to go
Rooney vs. Falcao vs. ADM
Who'd you go with for the medium term?ADM
Evs did 2 transfers already
Vardy and...?Why would he have got Vardy?
Bony out
Guys, what change to make?
Bego
Ivan, Moreno, clyne (Wilson, Hutton)
Fab, Siggy, ADM, Sterling (Zaha)
Ballo, Costa, Naismith
Ballo to welbeck, Naismith to ulloa for a hit?Not to different from my team mate
Deffo pop Ulloa in there for Naismith
Im stuck on the Balo decision aswell mateJust the first
Almost with the same team…I'd do Naismith to Ulloa. Don't take a hit, ride out Balo. I'd play Wilson over Moreno this weekend. Everton will score on Liverpool and not sure if he's got any attacking points in him.
