This whole game is about the folly of "chasing points" ADM, Costa, Bertrand, Fabrfegas, Sigurdsson, Clyne, P. Cisse - to name but a few
Some of these things are not like the others. While agree with your point, players like Costa and even Siggy have shown that they offer more than that.
It's all about timing a move to perfection in this game.

Thing with these type of players is you need to bring them in before their points, however in practice it almost impossible, there are so many budget options that choosing the correct one is very tough.

I recall reading somewhere a bit of stats analysis on the folly of chasing points of lower price players. Basically they dont have the quality to continue to run in most cases so it usually ends up being a bust.
