Our Monday regular is rolled out again this afternoon, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess those players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Jack Wilshere has been ruled out of Arsenal’s midweek Champions League clash with Anderlecht due to illness, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier today.

Everton
Antolin Alcaraz is set to be sidelined for an extended period of time after he was forced off early on during the weekend goalless draw with Swansea. After the match, Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“He has damaged the joint in his shoulder. We’ll assess it but he could be out for a long spell. We’ll help Antolin all we can and try to help him back before the second half of the season.”

Hull
Centre-half Alex Bruce missed the Tigers’ 1-0 home defat at the hands of Southampton with a hamstring injury. Earlier today, Steve Bruce rolled out an update on the defender’s likely period of absence:

“Alex got injured in training on Friday, one of the last kicks of the session. It’s a hamstring but we don’t think it’s too serious. It’s probably going to be two, three or four weeks.”

Leicester
Leonardo Ulloa was utilised as a sub as the Foxes suffered their first home loss of the season against West Brom on Saturday. After the 1-0 defeat, Nigel Pearson explained his reasons for benching the Argentine:

“He had a groin problem, which we had scanned last Sunday. It was a case of not really wanting to risk him from the start today. I don’t see that as being anything negative. He was on the bench and had no problems afterwards. It wasn’t worth the risk to start him.”

Manchester City
Eliaquim Mangala missed yesterday’s Manchester derby due to a hip injury, according to reports in the local press. Aleksandar Kolarov was originally named in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI but picked up a problem during the warm-up and was replaced by Gael Clichy.

Manchester United
Rafael was absent from the Etihad showdown after picking up an injury in training, United’s official twitter account has confirmed.

Marcos Rojo looks set for a stint on the sidelines after being stretchered off with a shoulder injury midway through the second period. After the match, Louis van Gaal admitted:

“”His shoulder is out. We don’t know how long that will take. I have to wait until Monday. But he shall not play against Crystal Palace, I don’t think.”

Newcastle
Gabriel Obertan could be set for a spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off with a thigh injury against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon. After the 1-0 win, Alan Pardew admitted he fears the worst:

“The only real big problem we had was losing Obertan which was a big blow as he’s been outstanding. It looks like he’s got a bad injury and we’re all really disappointed for him.”

Pardew also revealed he withdrew Papiss Cisse at the break as he reckoned the striker was still suffering the effects of a recent injury:

“I just felt that Papiss wasn’t moving quite normally. He has got this irritation on his knee – he thought he was OK, I slightly disagreed with him and we’ll probably still disagree on that, but only in the right possible way.”

West Brom
The Baggies left-back Sebastien Pocognoli was subbed off towards the ends of the weekend win at Leicester through injury.

West Ham
Winston Reid was forced off early with a thigh problem during the weekend draw at Stoke, though Sam Allardyce confirmed post-match that the injury “wasn’t too serious”.

Because McNair is owned by 0.0% how does that effect his price changes. I mean how does it work in terms of his price dropping? Does it mean he should avoid price drops as there is literally nobody selling him ?

No pressing transfers and have Moore who seems to be dropped. Would be my 5th defender. Saves me playing Sigurdsson and Sanchez against Chambers/Naylor this week. Just short term would become Saylor eventually.

I'd just get Dummett right away then. Or Saylor if you can't afford him. I don't even think McNair will start, and can't see United keeping a CS if it were to happen either.

      70% is normally pretty good.
Costa 2 or Aguero 8 are still quite low compared to Sanchez 16. The 12th man is the most important in the game.

They do, but it is still QPR... and despite Man City's form, Aguero is still Aguero. I think Aguero is the head choice, ADM is the heart choice.

As the tension mounts ahead of a cracking MNFM, can I have some feedback on

    a) Siggy/Chadli to Downing
    b) Siggy to Mane
    c) Save FT to have 2FTs for the International Break/Potential Suspensions
    d) Something else.

    Cheers

    Krul
    Chambers, Baines, Clyne
    Chadli, Sigurdsson, Sánchez, Fábregas
    Agüero, Diego Costa, Pellè

    (Boyd, Duff, Hutton)

Cheers Mr Drive. That is what I am thinking - Downing is tempting as he is quite popular in My ML and has proved to be a rather annoying differential, but I am broadly happy with my team and Siggy should do well once fixtures ease up. Might even play one of the Burnley lads this week. 😆

I have Obertan as well, and looking to get him out soon. Luckily brought him in and scored his 11 pts that weekend.

Yeah Obertan was good choice at the time - got his 11 also.
Looks like he will be out for awhile , but that transfer can wait

Looks good to me. Obertan may have to go and Duff's lot are looking duff, he's my next defender to go.

Light in defence, 4 x 4m-circa defenders and you're likely to get found put sooner or later. You could do a lot worse than upgrade Moore to Chambers.
