Steven Fletcher scores twice as Sunderland grab a win at Palace. Vito Mannone drops to the bench as Costel Pantilimon earns his first start of the season, whilst Fraizer Campbell is in the points for the third home match in succession for Palace.

Fletcher at the Double

The Scotsman took his tally to four goals and an assist in the last four as the Wearsiders clinched a vital victory last night. Like QPR’s Charlie Austin, Fletcher is another forward whose contribution is looking crucial to his side’s survival bid – Sunderland have only scored six goals in the last six Gameweeks and the 5.3-priced frontman has now played a part in five of them. With Everton, City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the upcoming five fixtures, though, few will be willing to consider Gus Poyet’s main men right now.

Mannone Benched in Black Cats Reshuffle

Poyet finally swung the axe on his error-prone stopper last night as Costel Pantilimon took his place between the posts for Sunderland. In spite of his recent poor form, Mannone had proven a reliable source of save points for Fantasy managers, having chalked up at least one point for saves in seven of his nine appearances, but after last night’s omission, his 9.9% of Fantasy Premier League owners will be looking for an exit rout.

Absences Build for Sunderland

The Wearsiders look set to be without a couple of key first-team players for this weekend’s home clash against Everton. Patrick van Aanholt laid on his second assist of the season but was stretchered off with a possible dislocated shoulder shortly afterwards, whilst Lee Cattermole was true to form and fell off the suspension tightrope after earning his fifth caution of the campaign. Poyet is likely to turn to Liam Bridcutt (who grabbed an assist last night) to sit in front of the back-four against the Toffees, whilst elsewhere in midfield, a goal for Jordi Gomez and assist for Will Buckley could ensure they retain their weekend starting berths.

Campbell in the Points Again

The Eagles may be struggling in front of their own fans this season, with just one home win in five, but their 5.2-priced striker continues to benefit from Neil Warnock’s attacking approach. Campbell had scored against Leicester and Chelsea in the previous two at Selhurst Park and grabbed a somewhat fortuitous assist thanks to West Brown’s calamitous own goal last night. With three goals, an assist and three bonus points in his last six now, he looks the man most likely to deliver under the new manager, with last term’s top scorer Jason Puncheon once again overlooked as Wilfried Zaha continued on the right.

Defensive Frailties Continue for Warnock

The Palace boss partnered fit-again Scott Dann with Brede Hangeland in the heart of defence last night, with Damien Delaney – available after serving a one-match ban – left out of the squad altogether. The 3-1 defeat means the Eagles now have just two clean sheets in ten under their new manager and have worryingly conceded at least twice in the other eight matches – 19 goals against is just one fewer than the top-flight’s most porous defence (QPR, with 20) and underlines how quickly their defensive assets have fallen in the post-Pulis era.

My plan has been to keep Sterling until Walcott is ready to start. He obviously wont start vs Swansea. I have 1 FT and 0.2 in Bank though. Save and keep Sterling or changing to another player (with low ownership preferable) since I have no other issues? I am thinking of a Spurs midfielder (Lamela if he wont start on Thursday for example), Fellaini, Barkley although there are plenty of choices. Thoughts?

Walcott could come off the bench and score well and then you'll be all set once he resumes his starting role after the int'l week. Sterling home to Chelsea is probably not going to do much for you.

Thanks guys, i will probably wait for Europa League games and consider all available players. Maybe i ll get Barkley if he is considered nailed on from now on and next week Tadic -> Walcott

Does anyone know which referee has awarded the most penalties so far this season? I'm trying to determine whether it makes sense to captain Baines or Tadic solely on the basis of there being a chance of a penalty awarded (in addition to their already armband-worthy credentials) 🙂

Any response would be really appreciated!

Thanks for that! That's good to know.

Well that gives Noble and Aston Villa's second choice pentaker after Benteke (hmm) a chance of points. Not really a game-changer this week.

C looks the best of the three options actually but a hit is never good really.

      Don't get Milner.

Keep your eye on whether Sakho is passed fit before you consider B.

      Don't get Milner.

Soz scratch that. Last week I brought in Sanchez and Chambers for a hit and we all know that worked out well. So yes go for C!

Begovic must go. I brought in Krul for him this week.
Sterling is struggling without Sturridge. He may be a good pick again after the int'l break.
          Pelle is a season-keeper.

          Good luck.

      Mane for sure.

Nope, Koemann mentioned him, Tadic and Pelle as their 3 important players for this season. Way head of Long. Has much more of an impact

Mane is an excellent 2 week punt.

Just looking ahead to transfers as Oscar is someone I've got my eye on. Was concerned with long haul flights and internationals ahead of gwk 12 but turns out I have nothing to worry about. ADM and Aguero owners can also be left pleased that their final fixture of the break is also in Europe.

    Brazil international fixtures

    Turkey v Brazil 12 Nov
    Austria v Brazil 18 Nov

Verdict: Brazil players should be rested and fine to play for Gameweek 12 (Nov 22-24) with two Europe based games

    Argentina international fixtures

Argentina v Croatia 12 Nov - Upton Park, UK
Port v Argentina 18 Nov - Old Trafford, UK

Verdict: Argentina’s ties are in the UK which is good news for Di Maria and Aguero owners.

    Fixtures for Chile

    Chile v Venezuela (Nov 14)
    Chile v Uruguay (Nov 19)

Verdict: The Uruguay match is Nov 18 evening local time. So should be just enough time for Chile's Sanchez to train in good time for Nov 22 match against ManU.

I've updated to include Chile...looks like three matches in the break and last one on 19th...just three days before Arsenal's gwk 12 match.

Sanchez won't be training until the day before that match. Makes him a slight doubt I think surely...unless he's Suarez like and can just step off the plane onto the pitch and score.

Suarez managed that kind of schedule but few other players do.

Yep looks that way.. the Nov 19 is deceptive as its actually 18 local time.

Sanchez did indeed play the full 90 for country a few days before getting a goal and assist v Hull http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/326995

I'd say the Spanish FA would be pretty bloody minded to play him in the friendly for 90 mins given the fuss that Mourinho has made about his inj record. It'd be like a declaration of war.

Sanchez isn't worth the money IMO, he's not like Gareth Bale who could score against anyone. No your not mad, and with regard to "RIP your ranking" I'm still in the top 10k with no Sanchez. He ruins the balance of your team anyway....

Not really dreaming mate I've just watched him play...and since when has one player changed a season? The only examples I can think of are Bale and Toure, and they could score against anyone, Sanchez has one assist against Eve,Cry,Villa,City,Tottenham and Chelsea......

I'm still eyeing up a WC in GW14. It coincides with the longest rotation block of the season (GW 14 -> GW21 ) so gives the ideal opportunity to set the GKs and defence in stone and concentrate on using FTs on the front 7.

People may think it's too close to the January WC but if you use your January WC in GW 23 that gives you 10 GWs (more than a quarter of a season). If you save it for DGW, say in GW33, that only gives you 6 GWs to enjoy the benefits.

My thinking behind this is that I'm closer to the top 1k than I ever have been before this early in the season (only 16 points away).

There is every chance that come DGW time I might be 50 or 60 points off the top 1k and the benefits of using a WC then will not have the impact as it would have in GW14.

    ....apologies...rambling 🙂

I had same thoughts couple of days ago
Was thinking 13-14 once spton fixtures get harder along with other teams getting easier.
It was the proximity to xmas WC that put doubt in my mind
But I have often found I only make a couple of changes on xmas WC card anyway so not sure it is so relevant

Yes, I've found that too with the Jan WC. A couple of defensive changes and not much else to do as the big hitters up front have established themselves by then.

Im seriously considering the same, theres a lot of my players whose fixtures turn that week, and a lot of good runs that id want to pick up on.
Swansea and West Brom certainly, West Ham too
Stoke downturn in fixtures, Bego should go, some defensive moves.
But i almost always hold the WC for a DGW in the second half of the season, I'm tempted to hold on

    Baines, Ivan, Clyne, Moore, Hutton
    Fabre, Mane, Downing, Sterling, Cattermole
    Costa, Pelle, Welbeck
    1 FT and 3.1 ITB

I'm set on doing Ivan & Welbeck -> Wisdom & Aguero for -4. No objections I suppose?
