Back in the routine yet? Maybe another familiar regular is what you need to reacquaint yourself with the route to the weekend Fantasy deadline.

We’ve duly published our first Captain poll of the season, canvassing your views on the destination of the Fantasy armband ahead of the season kick-off.

Straight way, we’ve got an interesting one.

Doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez level the playing field a little, while Nani and Wayne Rooney will catch the eye, though both may look a risk against a West Brom side who will surely be well-drilled by the crafty Roy Hodgson. Perhaps a gamble on Fernando Torres at Stoke is in order? But then Didier Drogba could easily start at the Britannia, such is the uncertainty surrounding the Andre Villas-Boas teamsheet.

Votes are already streaming in. You can cast yours now via the homepage middle column and use this article to discuss the options.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

2 mil to spare is a waste of money.

No Man U coverage for the first game.

I would use that 2 mil to replace Drogba with Rooney for the first game until we see what AVB's plans are.. then transfer rooney out gw2 for the preferred chelsea striker.

Yes well the money is there to either upgrade Malouda to lamps, silva to nani or drogs to RVP. Got little to no faith in rooney. Most of his goals will be pens from now on.

Need to shave 0.5 off of this team:

    Given, Kenny
    Kompany, Shawcross, Warnock, Brown, Taylor
    Lampard, Silva, Sessengon, Tchoyi, Moses
    Rooney, Carroll, Johnson

Most obvious choice seems Sessegnon to one of the plethora of 6.0 mids, but I'm not so keen on that. Carroll to Suarez is another one but saving that for a few weeks in. Maybe two 4.5 keepers, a Newcastle/Sunderland pairing, but everybody loves Shay Given. And Lampard is staying. So really, I began this post looking for advice and have pretty much talked myself out of listening to any of it. Unless there's something blatantly obvious I'm missing, which I would greatly appreciate.

Definite possibility. I like that Stoke and Villa rotate so well so I'm willing to tolerate the early fixtures. But I had Shawcross last season and after about 5 weeks he'd been sent off twice. It took me a very very long time to get rid of him. And then he stopped getting sent off. Perhaps he doesn't deserve my loyalty. I hate him.

It's like something in a film, really is getting worrying where it is spreading like wildfire, if Police respond with force (rubber bullets etc - which I think they should) I wonder if it will be like fuel to the fire, causing already disillusioned, misguided kids thinking they are being further targeted.

It's an impossible situation- police seem to be aggravating some of the tensions but you can't just let these people run amok even if the trouble did eventually burn itself out.

London will probably be alright tonight given there are 16,000 police there but if it kicks off in Birmingham, manchester and liverpool then I can't see it stopping without using the army.

There's no such thing as plastic bullets in England anymore, the less lethal option police have is Taser, which is useless against a crowd. They have baton rounds but there are only a few officers who are authorised to use them, and then its only when there is a direct threat to lives- mainly used in NI

Focused energy weapons is where it's at, for this type of stuff.

Directed microwaves cause intense burning sensations and focused sonic weapons send out a 'beam' of high DB sound ... both useful for breaking up large groups using non-lethal means.

Unfortunately, the US has a long history of civil unrest and - with the largest prison population in the world - prison riots.

There's also stuff like flashpots that explode, sending out dozens of hard rubber balls, like paint balls. Perhaps you've seen them in the Jackass movies?

They also have paintball guns that contain tear gas - has the double effect of the concussion of the ball and then the effects of the gas.

This type of stuff is very effective without feeding the unrest with casualties/deaths.

Spend $400-800 billion dollars a year, for the last 50 years, and you too can have all sorts of cool paramilitary doo-dads with which to pacify your population.

'Course, we have no health insurance, miilions of homeless and hungry, and startlingly high unemployment ... which can cause riots.

Hey guys, any advise on my team much appreciated.

    Given, Al Habsi
    Kompany, Hughes, Jagielka, Bardsley, Simpson
    N’Zogbia, Sinclair, Taarabt, Malouda, Moses
    Rooney, Drogba, Holt

    1.5 in the bank.
1)will bring in Van Persie for Drogba once we hear how his injury is.
2)Should i swap Ruddy for Al Habsi, i hear they rotate well?
3)And is Bramble a better option than Bardsley? What will the Sunderlands defense most likely be?
4)not sure on jags or holt, are there better options?

Not likely to be settled. The latest news is that the IPCC hasn't found any evidence that guy shot by police fired a gun.

Which isn't the same as saying the police weren't right to shoot and a loaded illegal gun was found at the scene, but if they needed any vague reason to keep going I'm sure they'll use this.
