As if out of sympathy for the Fantasy Premier League, or podcast recording software crashed at the death this week. Finished. Kaput.

Panic ensued – hands on head there were cries of “I can’t go through that again” from host Mark as I desperately attempted to recover our lost words. Luckily, temporary files restored, our fifty fourth episode was rescued and rebuilt like Ledley King’s knee. Hopefully it won’t collapse again next week – like Ledley King’s knee.

Within it you’ll find unusually muted tones as Mark and I dissect the events or rather “non-events” of the weekend. Frustrations vented, this week’s broadcast picks up to its usual pace and departs on an optimistic note.

Listen in and share our pain.

can anyone tell me why 97 people have transferred in gerrard this week? those 97 people are either
    A) colour blind and can't see the red symbol or
    B) think that even though hes been ruled out till mid Sept or whatever they think he may play this weekend.

Why is it that everyone cites Everton traditionally being slow starters as a reason for not buying their players... and yet the same people buy spend buckets on the other slow starters, Man United.

Not being smart, but generally speaking, United are the best team in England, and Everton are not, and it is not as much of a stretch for people to put faith in United players as it is in players like Ambulance men Saha, Arteta and Cahill. Baines I like, but I think 8 is a little too expensive when we don't know yet the impact of a potentially fit Arteta and set pieces.

Well, people seem to be jumping on Rooney left right and centre, after he's just had a mediocre season (at best) that began with a prolonged period where he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn door. How quickly people forget.

Rooney's form in the second half of the season was actually quite good, and he is on pens, and is basically the spearhead of United's attack, and while he is fit, will always be an easy captaincy choice for pens alone. This is now coupled with Ashley Young being at United, won the most pens in the Premiership last term, and himself and the Roon like playing together, it still all makes perfect sense to me to be honest.

You know I was reading an interview with Tim Cahill and it kind of summed Everton up:

"We don't have any expectations and never set any goals..."

This ain't the mindset of a winner or a winning team. Sounds like they are settling for mediocrity at best.

If you're running windows you can download a free program called expatshield which will give you a Virtual Private Network with an IP address in the UK.

Then you can watch Match of the Day live, or use the BBC iPlayer to watch it when it suits you.

Bosingwa for Cole; Senderos for Bad K.
gks will earn more baps than defs so beef your gks up with Bergo/Given.
Dyer, Moses and Etuhu are too lightweight and need upgrading.
Rather Bent than Rooney and this will aid your midpark rebuild.

      Best of luck 🙂

You have two relatively exp defs albeit excellent value in Bad K.

The first ten fixtures for FUL are really good so always look for the cheapest way into a defence. In this case, Senderos.

With Given/Bergo you have perfect g/k rotation all season long. G/ks are in front of defs for bp allocation it appears so I would prioritise g/ks first rather than defs.

With Torres heating up and the CHS fixtures, something has to give.

Hard to overlook Bent (fixtures), Suarez and Nando.

Yep, but its always good to have quality options, IMO I think either would be brilliant signings, although I would prefer Modric to Mata, even though Mata could give us some much needed width. If we sign both I'd be very happy. Courtois, Piazon, Lukaku, Mata, Modric... AVB is making some quality signings. Buying the right mix of youth/ potential/ talent and ambition 🙂

    Given, Vorm
    Richards, Bosingwa, Enrique, Simpson, Tate
    Malouda, Silva, Dyer, Moses, Tiote
    Suarez, Torres, Rooney

    I have made 5 changes

    Current team:
    Given, Begovic
    Senderos, Bosingwa, Enrique, Simpson, Baines

I have Saha too and think he could o well for 7.5. Richards could be under threat and will Bos def start? S Taylor is uncertain, but if they all start its got a decent balance...I would maybe dowgrade one of your more exp def

He is not nailed on, just so you know.
Coll/Williamson/Taylor are CB and 2 from those 3. Taylor seems to have the nod for now. I would chose Williamson myself, but I am not Pardew!

If Kompany/Richards are the same I would go Kompany. he nearly got BP last game

Jafs - sorry might be a stupid Q:

Why do you reckon keepers will do better this year under the new scoring/EA index thingy?

Are we not getting carried away? I have Given/Ruddy that rotate and would rather invest the extra 1 mill in mid/front.

    😕

It's based on the Scout analyses which indicated that G/ks were more likely to attract boni than defs. Bergo getting 2bps last week. Not sure he'd have got these under the old system.
