This evening, we look back on the nail-biting final and announce the latest winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power. We also see who claims the third place play-off prize.

With a Gameweek 24 score of 61, CMIFLFC won a close final against Momalpashands and joins donnellyc, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05, Gribude and myself in our winners hall of fame.

Both our finalists had already played their wildcards but 2,473rd ranked CMIFLFC prevailed thanks to a defence that included Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Swansea right-back Kyle Naughton.

Momalpashands, who has an overall rank of 428, was just eight points away but his transfer of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho in for the injured Arsenal midfielder Alexis Sanchez, as well as a defence that included Manchester United Phil Jones, fell short at the final hurdle.

Congratulatons to CMIFLFC, who wins £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power as well as a £100 Amazon voucher. As runner-up, Momalpashands wins £50 worth of Paddy Power free bets and a £50 Amazon voucher.

Meanwhile, our third placed play-off was even closer with Bobbyg scoring 61, whilst 241,362nd ranked Harts Hotspurs close behind with 58. Both played their wildcards but despite Harts Hotspurs captaining Harry Kane and fielding Branislav Ivanovic, bobbyg’s more consistent scoring across all positions was enough to give him the edge. Bobbyg also had Swansea’s Naughton – who earned an assist – to thank as he claims the third place play-off price of £50 worth of free bets and a £25 Amazon voucher.

In addition bobbyg, who has an overall rank of 542, and CMIFLC win a further £25 worth of free bets for getting the highest score of the round.

I was watching hockey the other day (I was THAT bored 😛 ) and I saw a player got fined for diving (or flopping as they say).

Shouldn't something like that be implemented in football in Europe, where players get fined everytime there's a blatant dive? I mean if a guy in hockey, where players hit and ram each other as part of the game, can get fined for diving, then surely it would be a factor in football. I don't think anything is more important to a player in football than his bank.

A fine would mean nothing to a mega rich football player though

      1 game ban imo

I was tempted to keep Oscar through the blank and swap him for Eriksen (and Defoe for Kane) for the double since I can just play Boyd, Toby and Wollsch alongside Wisdom and Clichy that week

    Repost from last page

    Foster
    PvA Terry Clyne
    Adm Puncheon Silva Hazard
    Austin* Kane Aguero

    Subs: Baird Cameron Marney
    5.6ITB 1FT

    A) Austin has to go. Giroud or Defoe? Tempted by Defoe but I don't have any Arsenal players so Giroud could help too.

    B) Sort my bench. I might have to take a hit down the line as I have to sort Baird and Cameron to get a playing XI for GW 27(could benefit long term). Baird -> Bellerin?

    C) Silva/Punch -> Arsenal mid.

Thoughts on Austin replacement and whether to take a hit? if yes for B or C?

    1. Lyonnais

Defense looks good for this week, so I would only do Austin ---> Giroud if he starts tomorrow.

If you don't fancy any Arsenal mids (highly recommend), then Giroud's a no-brainer in case he starts tomorrow. Rest looks pretty solid.

He's pretty much nailed on as our first choice RB -- though I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger gave him a rest tomorrow and started Chambers. But you should be good on the long run, mate. Gabriel will be Kos' back-up.

It's a risk not owning, but this is the GW if any you'd go without, I'm putting him in if he starts, but Wenger surely won't risk more than 65-70 mins. If he wasn't fit for the bench on sat, can't personally see him being risked from the start against Leicester. Theo Ozil caz behind Giroud for me. Give him 25-30ins and fa cup minutes would be sensible this clues to CL

Small team tend to collapse towards the end of the match if they are behind and then concede many chances. That's why I want to pick as captain someone who is likely to get 90 minutes. I don't see anyone guaranteed 90 minutes in Arsenal attack, other than cazorla. But giroud might be second best candidate for that.especially if welbz starts again.

I think that the first two sentences represent a well reasoned beginning for a post. Unfortunately I am not convinced that Caz will necessarily start, let alone finish 90 minutes - and I am an owner.

Hanging for the line ups tomorrow.

    My team is:
    Pants
    Terry Clyne PvA
    Hazard Silva ADM Puncheon
    Kun Kane Giroud

    SUBS: Heaton Boyd Wisdom Wasi

If Sanchez is starting, who should I drop?
    1. Silva > Sanchez
    2. ADM > Sanchez

I have to admit the most frustrating player to own of late. Even against Burnley though? I suppose he blanked against Leicester lol

I have 9 players same as you in my starting XI (look above). BTW I would do Silva -> Sanchez. One last chance for AdM

Walters the obvious man to make way for Sanchez?

    Panti Mannone
    Baird Fonte Jones Naughton Wolls
    Boyd Caz Silva Hazard Walters
    Giroud Kane Aguero

I'd say Walters is a good option to yank. (that doesn't exactly sound like what I want it to, but oh well. 🙂 )

I have a feeling he's fit as a Stradivarius fiddle. Not sure if he starts how much time he will get, however. No way to know that. All depends on how game is going and if he pops a string.
