I know he's had a good game week but I find it kinda crazy that Ivan's ownership is going up this week when he has a blank and no DGW immediately afterwards.

No, he's up 3,000 buys since the deadline. Up 3% according to FPLStats since the Man City game alone.

Amazing how so many people either A dont know about the blank or B are so worried about him going up in price that they scramble to get him in

If you can get a CS from the new defender, you finish 2 points ahead when taking the hit.

Is this the DZ yet? DZ is my favourite bit of this site. 🙂

Anyway, I wouldn't mind some advice. Choice of 3 options for 3 games only:

    A) Sturridge - City (h), Burnley (h), Swansea (a)
    B) Rooney - Sunderland (h), Newcastle (a), Spurs (h)
    C) Pelle - WBA (a), Palace (h) and then Costa - Southampton (h)

Whoever is picked will be my captain in the first of the three games (i.e. next GW).

      Rooney, if RVP is injured.

Which I think he is - crutches and a cast usually means trouble.

I think Rooney will be playing upfront for the next couple of weeks at least but actually it's next week that's most important for me because I need to bring a captain in unless I give the armband to Moses at home to Hull.

I think it could be Rooney time but that may be wishful thinking.

(Will be on penalties as well as up front). Otherwise, Sturridge.

I do wonder if it could finally be Rooney time if RVP is on the shelf for a while, but I thought that a month ago and it did not work out... I vote Sturridge, a swap to Costa will always be easy if necessary.

    7. Zasa
      • 11 Years

Like Ludo said, a lot depends on the RvP news
Still Studge for me though, great Gw28 fixture coming up and solid stats to back his projection

      1. Ruth_NZ
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 11 months ago

Yeah, thanks Zasa (and all). Sturridge is the safer option but I don't particularly fancy captaining him against City. Rooney could be the wildcard (especially if RVP is out).

        1. Zasa
          • 11 Years
          10 years, 11 months ago

Fwiw, Rooney on pens if RvP is out and having a more prominent role up top could pay dividends if you cap. Not the best of fixtures for the top teams coming in Gw27, only United and Saints boast that, a Rooney(c), could be a perfect kick-em while they're down transfer.
Many will be rolling out with a shoddy 442 and not a ideal squad, a quality captain like that could be golden.

Yet again it is United, and their goal are just inconsistent in the sense that it they don't have a steady stream of points from a given player like other top teams. It's a risky move alright, but a great time to have a differntial captain.

Ouch, unlucky as it was a horror tackle and the reaction was one of those things. So your the one with the target on your back! I'm up to 3rd for February. I've dodged a couple of bullets today, sold mastic and vlaar during January who would have both played today for me. Revived what has been a disaster of a season in all forms of the game, bit of excitement

Cheers man, got a couple of decisions to make tomorrow which will decide my fate. And judging by this season, they will not be the correct ones. Good to be in the mix, especially up against players who have set up just for the month. Healthy spread of FFS league players up the top so if I don't do it, hopefully yourself or one of the others do it! Next week I am screwed anyway.

It's a clever team - I guess Cazorla becomes Eriksen in GW 28?

The good thing is that Defore can become Austin or N'Doye or Ings or Berahino if you want him to - there's a lot of flexibility in that price zone.

Looks good - the structure makes sense anyway. I prefer 2 premium strikers plus Kane at the cost of downgrading Sanchez but I know others rate Sanchez higher than I do.

Well... he could play left midfield. Or left wing back if Poyet reverts to 3-5-2.

I am not at all surprised that he's lost has place in a back four. He's a defensive liability, he lost his place at Vitesse half way through last season for the same reason.

I'm a season ticket holder and I have no idea. Haven't listened to poyet's post match comments yet or whether he mentioned anything. PVA had been playing poorly for us though, he was dropped and we kept a clean sheet. If I had to guess I'd say he'd be back on the bench again next week.

True both have big shadows over them. Bellerin is easily enough dealt with though. Sell when Debuchy is back. Zouma is trickier but I think hes worth the rotation risk til the DGW at least

This. He was dropped and came on with a few mins to go. Think vergini must have had a knock unless poyet was trying to win it in dying embers. PVA has been in poor form so him being on bench was likely a tactical decision.

Pure speculation, as I haven't seen him play recently but maybe Poyet wants more defensive solidity. From comments I 've read on here I think PVA while good going forward (which we like), he's not been doing so well at helping keep the door shut for the opposition.

Zouma just so much more valuable to me. If he doesn't start, likely will get a defender off the bench, and if he does you are just pleased. Can safely leave him in the starting three and just sort out the bench cover. PvA seems a disaster right now. Disclaimer: I am not Rick and don't know as much about Chelsea as he does.

Zouma was very good today. He'll get his fair share of games. Provided you have decent defenders benched for when he doesn't play he seems a very good option apart from the fact that he takes a Chelsea slot away.

In that case Zouma out puts you in a better position for Gw27 I assume, plus Ivan would be my Chelsea def if I had the option. Not sure tbh TM, I'd take out Zouma right now barring more information on the PvA dilemma

Really can go either way. You have three defenders who you can conceivably start every week and then you have Hutton to cover PvA worst case so you could carry him for a bit I guess. JWP though certainly seems like a 30 minute player at best right now. Depends who you are more pessimistic about for GW27 I guess? Very difficult for me.

      1. TheCurseOfRaheem
        • 13 Years

Indeed, they both look like potential 1 pointers. Options seem more slim in JWP's price range but it doesn't seem wise to upgrade another defender when I have 3 premiums. As you said, it's a difficult decision. Hopefully a minor injury can ease the decision.

I think you need to ship one of pva or Cameron. Neither likely to play next gw. I've got it narrowed to Williamson or haidara, do wonder if haidara is under threat from Raylor tho. Good luck with the move, bloody hate it! Done it in the summer, be the last one for a while I hope!

JWP>Ibe could be a cheeky one to ensure I have another quality starter for the blank eh.

Or you could be spinning your wheels losing one player who will be on the bench for another. Can't say you weren't warned 😉

    evenin...PVA status going forward:
before it was reveillere - vergini - oshea - pva

    2day reveillere - BROWN - oshea - vergini

So basically Brown came in as CB, and vergini relocated to the FB, pva out.

    is this:
    a. a starting trend, hes out
    b. one time, mayb rested or small knock
c.just wait for next gwk, and if he doesnt start again drop him

How does Filipe Luis get 2 BP's and Ivanovic doesn't get any with the only score for Chelsea? Makes no sense.

Outside the goal, useless in bps.

Defender goals are not that heavy weighted for Bonus tho. Ivan yellow also hurts his bps. The bps scoring system is there so it makes as much sense as it ever has. Not as good as man in the stand IMO but much better system than last season

I agree. Especially with all the balls Ivan put in. Not sure how much, if any, yellow cards knock down the BPS. I would imagine some, and for Ivanovic, this is the 2nd stupid, senseless yellow card he has taken in the last three games. Both came in games where he scored, and one of those goals was a game winner. Total bonus in both games added up: 1. I don't care if someone had more completed passes, a block or two more and this and that. In today's game and against Aston Villa, he should have gotten more bonus. (obviously he's on my team 🙂 But Still!)

        His crossing today was awful.

Luis recovered a lot of balls and also put in some good crosses. I can easily see why he got more BAPS than Ivan.

Crossing in the Prem is awful period. And don't get me started on the shooting..........

I'm probably gonna get it for that comment....but, hey.....it's how I feel often times when watching the games.
