With just one Gameweek remaining, the community is on the hunt for differentials for a last-ditch attempt at glory. Our community writers take a look at some of the final Gameweek’s best punts, while our hot topics posters also look ahead to the weekend’s fixtures as well as the next season. Strikers are among the subjects looked at in our Members Tables section this week, while we also catch up on the latest standings in our community tournaments.

The Community Articles

James Milner rarely excites our community but, according to JK, we are perhaps being too hasty to dismiss the Manchester City man. His article, complete with tables for Members, shows that Milner is in the form of his life. Dare you consider him as the ultimate dullard differential for Gameweek 38?

If Milner does not appeal as a punt then perhaps The Puntmaster’s final trio of differentials of the season will offer something for those who fancy taking a risk. To mark his final selection he has also launched a competition with the chance to win a £10 Amazon voucher.

The dangers of ignoring punts, such as Sadio Mane were laid bare in Gameweek 37, according to our latest Rough with the Smooth round up of your tales of Fantasy Football woe and joy. This also features one of the highest bench scores we have ever seen.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

The final Gameweek of the season can be a happy hunting ground for those who like to take a risk. To help assess the key matches where point hauls may be found, Twisted Saltergater penned this excellent final-day preview. Crystal Palace, Leicester, Everton and Stoke players are among those he looks at.

Among those players that may make way is Harry Kane, who has scored just once in his last seven matches. In our look at possible replacements Andy85wsm favours Newcastle man Papiss Cisse, while PurpleCobra’s likes the look of Romelu Lukaku for those with cash in the bank.

Midfield is another area where many in the community are looking to make a Gameweek 38 change. While Jafalad is considering Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon, AZ thinks Stewart Downing could be back to his early season form for the final match of the season.

Jinswick is among those paying close attention to potential differentials. He lies in fourth in FPL and is looking to put in place some audacious transfers to catch current number one Dufflinks, who lies 43 points ahead of him.

With the final Gameweek approaching, the community has been in reflective mood, looking back across the 37 Gameweeks gone by to find some common themes that will define 2014/15. For many it was the season where budget strikers such as Harry Kane dominated.

For Enzo the Baker, catching a handful of explosive points hauls from popular strikers, such as Kane and Sergio Aguero, in particular his Gameweek 8 hat-trick, defined the season and played a part in where Fantasy managers will finish in the overall rankings.

One striker that has failed to help the community rise in the rankings has been Manchester United’s misfiring striker Radamel Falcao. But JK wonders if we are being too hasty to dismiss him, should he remain at Manchester United next season.

When the final rankings are revealed on Sunday the long wait for August and the start of the new season begins. For those still needing a football fix over summer, The Sarjeant was on hand to look at some of the key matches and tournaments taking place.

Scordelario also popped by with news of a new FPL focused gadget that helps managers pick over the bones of the season and their key successes and failures.

Looking ahead to next season, D1sable has been pondering potential positional switches for some of this year’s out of position players, such as Aston Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor.

Finally, Krickey is for Kinnear is continuing his mission to create 2014/15’s best cult XI. His latest plea for votes looks at some of this season’s surprise midfield stars.

The Members Tables

For those looking to take a punt on an attacker Granville has been taking a look at those with the most threat. This has a global filter but he advises using the Gameweek range filter to look from Gameweek 30 onwards.

Crystal Palace could be a good source of transfer prospects, with Ludo taking a close look at the underlying statistics of their players under the management of Alan Pardew.

Meanwhile, the focus of nuttman88’s latest table is sharp shooting strikers. This, too, has a global filter to help find the most up to date hot shot forwards.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Mark has narrowed the gap on Greenwindmill in the hunt for first place in the FFScout Moderators and Contributors league to just nine points going into Gameweek 38. Although Greenwindmill looks more secure in first in the Long and Winding Road main league, where second and third placed Dispicable Michu and Simon Walsh both need to bridge a 23 gap to beat him.

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing competition, Mark K. has been crowned the 2014/15 winner, with his score of 69 outlasting 1783 others.

With one freebie, I am chasing opponents with 13 and 15 point leads. I need advice on the best transfers to make so that I can stand a chance of winning my minileage.
Opponent with 15 point lead (potentially no goalkeeper for him bt I fear Bolassie)
    Guzan (Speroni)
    Coleman Bertrand Hutton (Wisdom Azpili)
Sanchez Downing Carzola Bolassie (Jones of Burnley)
    Aguero Kane Benteke

The second opponent (potentially no keeper too but I fear Silva)
    De Gea (Jakupovic)
    Moreno Ivanovic Rose (Blacket Azpili)
Sanchez Henderson Cazorla Silva (Cant recall 5th mid)
    Austin Kane Giroud

    My team is
    Schmeichel (Pants)
    Bellerin Ivan PVA (Yun Upson)
    Sanchez Coutinho Gerrard Mahrez Hazard
    Aguero Giroud (Defoe)
I heard Terry wants to break some goalscoring record so by default I will get him. I am now looking for an 8.8 midfielder who will score the most goals. I am thinking of Mata as Man U would want to take their chances for an automatic champions league qualification. I fear Arsenal benching players.
Choose the best course of action (All except E are for -4)
    A. Upson and Hazard>Terry and Mata
    B. Upson and Hazard> Terry and Bolassie
    C. Upson and Hazard> Morgan/Schlupp and Silva/Mata/Bolassie
    D. Hazard and Defoe> Costa and Bolassie (I will play PVA and potentially Yun)
    E. Hazard > Silva (I will play PVA and potentially Yun
    F. Other transfer (Specify)

you need to pick a differential who will pick up at least 10 pts. I'd be tempted by puncheon or milner

I wouldn't want to take that risk. Kane to Remy for -4 means you're banking on Kane to blank and Remy to get more than 1 goal to get anything out of the hit. Madness for the last GW.

Please. If you have a moment. I am a bit stuck. What move would you make if you had my team?

    Schmeichel (Panti)
    Ivan, Morgan, Vlaar (Skrtel, PvA)
    Silva, Sanchez, Cambiasso, Henderson (Cazorla)
    Aguero (c), Giroud, Benteke
    1FT, 0.1 ITB

I am inclined to bench Cazorla because I fear he may not play the entire match. I am inclined to start Cambiasso because he has a great match-up.

    I could move:

    Giroud > Lukaku/Gomis etc.
Cazorla >Siggy, Bolasie, Mirallas, Puncheon, etc. (not Mata, insufficient funds)
Skrtel > Kolarov (and start 4 defenders benching Henderson)

Giroud/Lukaku if you can afford it.

I'd play Cazorla over Henderson though.

Hi guys, could use some help over here:

    Myhill
    Koscielny Terry Schlupp (PVA Dawson)
    Hazard Sanchez Coutinho Silva (Cambiasso)
    Aguero Kane Giroud

Surely Hazard has to go with his dental issues, considerin Yaya as a replacement (better suggestions are always welcome), someone else who has to go?

    a) Skrtel to Ivan for a hit
    b) play Skrtel possibly against my Adam punt
    c) bench Skrtel for PvA
    d) Sell Skrtel but keep Hendo

I know...but then they did a similar thing before Christmas and suddenly became the best defence in the league for a while. Funny thing defences.

A few weeks ago you couldn't have given a Leicester or Sunderland defender away...no matter how much you offered somebody to take them off your hands.

Don't sell Skrtel for a hit.

      Play him.

I am in a similar boat (see my pst & team above). I am currently planning on benching Skrtel in lieu of Morgan, Vlaar and Ivan who all have more favorable match-ups, IMO. I would not sell Skrtel for a hit, but I would play him ahead of PvA. I think Skrtel has a greater chance of clean sheet vs. PvA's chance of a clean sheet plus the odd assist.

I recall your questions earlier today. Mata seemed like a move you had decided on. I like that one. He could get 2 or 12...That is the play I prefer.

Bit unusual question, but my rival has used his transfer and it gave him 0.5m extra ITB.. can anyone guess/identify which player he transfered out and in?

I'm thinking he maybe did Ozil -> Mata or Fonte -> 5.3m defender?
    Can't see other logical options..

    Mignolet
    Ivanovic O'Shea Skrtel
    Cazorla Young Hazard Özil
    Agüero Giroud Kane

    Subs: Myhill Gómez Fonte Yoshida
