Forget two fat ladies, in ScoutCast Bingo itโ€™s all about three men with paunches chatting Fantasy Football fortunes, rattling out a few familiar clichรฉs along the way.

Thanks to Numbโ€™s witty community contribution, this weekโ€™s episode finds us gripping our dabbers in preparation for mispronunciations, dropped connections and a regular helping of โ€œblimeysโ€.

Around those fun and games, we tackle the serious matters โ€“ assessing the merits of Sergio Aguero, Callum Wilsonโ€™s replacements and my range of Christmas jumpers.

All those hard-hitting issues are addressed via another round of community questions, following on from our review of Gameweek 7 as Granville fights the urge to gloat having opened up a 40 point lead over yours truly.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday evening. You can view the full Google Hangout on the larger player below.

For the edited audio version, youโ€™ll need this link or the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone seen the trailer for The Revenant? This movie apparently has major Oscar buzz. Directed by Iñárritu (Birdman, Babel), & stars Leonardo DiCaprio & Tom Hardy. More importantly, it has the best cinematographer in the business, Emmanuel Lubezki (Birdman, Gravity, Children of Men).

It's not THAT mad. Hull were top after (I think) 9 games in their first PL season, and ended up only avoiding relegation on the last day. Different situation as Leicester have already survived once, but still...

You'd think Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa, Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich will all end up below them, but it only takes two of them to have an upturn in form coinciding with a Leicester slump for the pundit to be right.

(For the record, I don't think they will, but it's a long season.)

My best was another Wally hattrick 3 seasons ago. He was just returning from injury with just 1.5 ownership , got him with -4 and captained while everyone else was going for RVP, RVP subbed, Wally grabbed 52 points for me and pushed me into top 1000. It was like a dream ๐Ÿ™‚ He is my favorite FPL player since that day ๐Ÿ™‚

What represents the best value or strategy for a 5th midfielder, a regular 4.5 priced player (like Westwood, Wanyama) who you'll using very rarely or a 5 - 5.5m mid, whom you'll play more often, especially if you've chosen him such that he rotates with your 3rd striker fixture wise.

This is of course one of the burning questions for many managers. So would welcome some opinions on this, like how do it usually or has your tactics changed this season due to the emergence of Mahrez (It has changed mine, so).

Anyways, the way I see it, a nice 5th midfielder priced between 5 - 5.5m is an asset to any team.

Truth is at the start of season, Mahrez was that 5th midfielder for me, but since he has turned out to be more of a premium mid, the landscape have changed for this season and will remain so, unless he gets injured.

So it's actually the 4th mid spot (at season start) where you typically spend 5.5 - 6.5m, is the real 5th mid this season. So, you can either choose to spend 5-6m (ex. Redmond) on him (making him effectively a 4.5th mid) and in that case would advice to choose your 3rd cheap striker in such a way that he rotates with your 4.5th mid well fixture wise, or you can simply opt to spend 4.5 proper (Westwood, Wanyama) to make him an actual 5th mid, whom you'll use only when you have injuries but want to save FTs (or avoid hits) that week, but not expecting anymore than a maximum of 3 points.

Now which one you choose is completely up to you, as I do believe that both tactics has their pros and cons. I personally prefer the former, but due to Mahrez being there and the likes Hazard and Mane being as pricey as they are compared to last season, I'm prefering the later till now. Though I'll have a rethink when I play my wildcard in a few weeks time and if neccessary will adapt for sure.

Sorry the reply got a bit longer. Thanks for keeping patience. ๐Ÿ™‚

5th mid... I'd go 4.5 first 2/3 of season... watch for any 4.5/5 that gets hot and will add team value... otherwise ignore.

You always need the extra funds elsewhere, better to have the flexibility and lack of benching headache. Later in season when depth is more important (with DGWs and teams missing games some weeks) and team value higher, is the time to get a more pricey (mid 5s) 5th mid.

I think Sterling could match or outperform Mata in the next 3 and then make a switch after, it's a 50-50 call, on the other hand, if Sterling learns how to shoot, he could be gold

Interesting. How are you interpreting these then? His goals and assists per game are both improved this season, but does this not just mean that we should expect a regression to the mean? And his Chances Created per game seems to have been on a downward trend throughout

You could argue 14/15 is an anomaly due to the season United were having but when he plays, he seems to produce consistently. If he gets to the stats he produced in the first 2 seasons then he's a bargain at his price

    Morning DZ,

So I'm still on the fence with this one. Fairly certain of WCing in GW11 but unsure what to do with Mane/Pelle (fixtures) and Pelle (rumours of being dropped).

    Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers.

    A) Stick - the conservative play. Hope Pedro plays and Mane/Pelle turn up despite the tricky fixtures

    B) Pedro -> Walcott [-4] - similar fixtures over the next 3 but Walcott is playing OOP, is a massive goal threat and is on form. The risk of Pedro getting dropped is also a concern given he's been poor the past few weeks and Willian has looked good.

    C) Mane & Pelle -> Walcott & Berahino [-8] - brings in 2 form players with good fixtures and means I get to keep Pedro for his next 2 good fixtures. The 8 pointer is the main concern here, but will Saints get much away at Che and Liv?

Both B and C leave a decent chunk of change (1.6m) for defensive upgrades next week.

    Ruddy
    Bellerin, Kolarov, Huth
    Sanchez, Pedro, Mane, Mahrez
    Aguero, Pelle, Vardy

Away at Chelsea? I know they've been bad, but I don't expect SOT to score more than 1 at the bridge.

I'm currently favouring B - Walcott looks a menace and I think he'll outscore Pedro by more than 4 over the next 3. Thoughts?

He has done well against them in the past - 1 goal and 1 assist last season.

You fancy Pedro(+4) to outscore Wally over the next 3?

I'm not sure I want to hazard a guess how the Walcott lottery will turn out. Could be gold if he starts all three... Or he could be on the bench for two. Walcott would be a calculated risk if you went for him.

Cheers. I can also afford Silva instead of Walcott but not sure he offers the same potential as Wally, plus he leaves me with no cash.

Would you go Silva > Wally ? (Am 0.1 short of KDB)

Such a tricky one. If it was for a FT I would think Silva (if fully fit) or Walcott would be reasonable transfers - one safe and sound, one risk and reward. For a hit I'm just not sure. Walcott has a higher ceiling and a lower floor. Silva has nicer fixtures.

So I'm between these 3 moves this week:

    A) Stick
    B) Pedro -> Wally (-4)
    C) Pedro -> Silva (-4)

    Ruddy
    Kolarov, Bellerin, Huth
    Sanchez, Mane, Pedro, Mahrez, Sinclair
    Aguero, Vardy

    Rudd, Pelle, Coates, Targett
    Bank 0.6m, 0FT

If I don't do B) then I will likely do Pedro/Silva -> Wally in GW10. So it kind of comes down to this:

    A) Pedro (SOT, AVL) + 4 points
    B) Silva (NEW, BOU)
    C) Walcott (MUN, wat) + 1.0m + an extra free transfer

I think Ive whittled an important decision down to this...

    A) Aguero + Payet

    B) Sakho + KDB

Who do you captain in A and B?

Havent even got to think about that yet, both options include Vardy, who is an option for me. otherwise A would be Aguero I guess, I went 2 weeks with the armband not on him, and it feels like newcastle is the time to give it back, maybe he will "pull a Sanchez". and in B probably KDB

If Aguero isn't a captain choice than go B.
At that price, you probably need to captain.

      Two captain contenders in A
      One in B

Don't question Payet (c) pls. Last time you lot did, I switched to Aguero last minute and it was rubbish. This is the week I'm going to be right. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks pretty good. But what do I know. I ended at 817k from 350k, Seriously, though team looks good. Vardy as a captain is worth a think.

    Morning guys!

Been so busy recently I've hardly been around and am clueless as to what's happening this week. Last day in my current job today though so that's a plus! ๐Ÿ™‚

Any big news over the last couple of days? I know Wilson is out, still haven't decided on a replacement and probably lost lots of £££ at this point!

        Still?

I'm very tempted by a Newcastle striker but I know that might be a punt too far

Like I said below, I've gone vards but with Pardew saying Gayle will play I think he's a great gamble for his and the next few weeks.

Not secure spot for sure but a good differential for a week or so.

      Not for the 'dullard' though.

My team is potentially in a spot of bother - Ogbonna, Muniesa, Wilson, McCarthy and Myhill so only want to get in players that are going to play at this stage.

Good luck for anyone going Gayle though!

Oh yeah. Doh. A lot of similar to mine I just put below but you spent extra money in defence I put mine into my 5th mid. Quite like it. Morrison has a lot of potential
