Basking in the glow of a sensational Gameweek 8 score, many of the community were still counting up their goals and assists long after the final whistle last Sunday. We glance back at another sensational display from Sergio Aguero and Southamptonโ€™s players and look ahead to the coming Gameweeks, with hidden Fantasy gems and new managerial appointments dominating discussion. Elsewhere, we catch up on the latest Members tables as well as find out what effect last weekendโ€™s goalfest had on our community tournaments.

The Community Articles

Swanseaโ€™s dip in form while Tottenham and Crystal Palaceโ€™s ability to finally find their feet this season are the key issues discussed in Rakkhiโ€™s team trends analysis of the first eight Gameweeks.

Congratulations to The 3rd Turd whose analysis of Fantasy Football radars and bubbles have earned him ยฃ20 Amazon voucher after winning the Community article of the month vote for September.

Donโ€™t forget, if youโ€™ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Liverpoolโ€™s sacking of Brendan Rodgers and wooing of former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp was amongst the hot topics discussed during this weekโ€™s international break. Berbinhoโ€™s Foreheadโ€™s focus was on Rodgers differences with Liverpoolโ€™s transfer committee, while Numb pondered whether Klopp will flop.

Meanwhile, Theo Walcott was dramatically dumped by John Terryโ€™s Dog as his affections move across the capital to West Hamโ€™s Dimitri Payet. His break up letter to the Arsenal man proved a real tearjerker.

Trigg has been asking which have been the communityโ€™s worst transfers. Could dumping Walcott be added to that list when it is refreshed in a few Gameweeks time?

There may be some more broken hearts should the communityโ€™s hidden gems for the coming Gameweeks fail to shine.

Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand was among the key names mentioned as differential prospects and was also discussed in Rodellegabombโ€™s hot topic on the Saints more settled backline.

For the second year running, Gameweek 8 proved pivotal to many of our community who backed Southamptonโ€™s assets, as well as Manchester Cityโ€™s Sergio Aguero with the captainโ€™s armband. Last season Aguero scored four against Tottenham, while Southampton humiliated Sunderland. Both were at it again this season, with the Argentine striker scoring five against Newcastle and Southampton putting Chelsea to the sword. A more detailed look back at what was a week to savour for many can be found in Your Mumโ€™s Athleticโ€™s latest What the Bookies say update.

The spooky coincidence of Gameweek 8’s repeated success for many of our community also sparked a discussion on other illogical Fantasy Football folklores.

In the more immediate future, though, Aguero owners are facing a nervous wait to see the extent of an injury picked up while on international duty for Argentina. Here we look at some of the potential scenarios and contingency plans should he face a lengthy lay-off.

Another star of Gameweek 8 was Tottenhamโ€™s Christian Eriksen. His two wonder free-kicks against Swansea inspired Demi to start a discussion on Europeโ€™s best free kick specialists.

Amongst the community, EnglishNo7 was one of the biggest beneficiaries of Gameweek 8โ€™s goal-a-thon. He finds himself at the top of the Fantasy Premier League Fantasy Football Scout league and dropped by to deliver some words of wisdom for his fellow Fantasy managers.

Finally, while FPL is the main game for much of our community there are plenty of other Fantasy Football games out there, from weekly contests to draft games. Here the community offered their thoughts on coping with the multi-Fantasy football experience.

The Members Tables

For those eyeing up Southampton players, Iโ€™ve made this table looking at their key attacking assets. Elsewhere, Doosra has made this table looking at this seasonโ€™s best deadball specialists and the Sportsguy has turned to shots on target to find the brightest midfield diamonds.

Giggs Boson has been looking at those players that are scoring well from few opportunities or shots on target. There was further discussion around this ‘lethal or imposter’ table and the ways it can be interpreted here.

If youโ€™re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

There were some huge scores in round 2 of Jaffaliciousโ€™s FFS UEFA Champions League style tournament, according to his latest update.

Niclas Anderssonโ€™s tally of 118 in Gameweek 8 meant he has regained the lead in Red Lightningโ€™s Top 10K Any Season mini-league. He now sits in 144th overall and also retains top spot in the FFS Old Farts Club league, for our communityโ€™s elders as well as first place in the Long and Winding Road main league.

Thereโ€™s no stopping Andy in the FFScout moderators and contributors league. He remains in first after recording an impressive score of 110 in Gameweek 8. Greenwindmill is the latest to take second place in an attempt to catch him.

Inย TorresMagicโ€˜s Last Man Standing competition,ย Geckoย hitย the top score in Gameweek 8 with 131 where the safety score was set at 61. Entry is open during for the international break, for more details visit here.

Finally, here’s a reminder from Jarvish of his Blank Weekend Challenge competition. This focuses on some of the lower English league players and is ideal for those keen to scratch their Fantasy Football itch during the international break.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Bournemouth have looked pretty solid, but that was with very easy fixtures. Now the fixtures turn harder for them, we'll see how solid they are. They have yet to play an attack of City's level. Although, they are helped by Silva's and Augers absences.

Any type of tear (partial or complete) is at least 3-4 weeks, just depend on the tissue, person, their diet, and their injury history.

Kun has a history of hammy issues so it may take him a bit longer to heal.

Right, I am really considering taking a -8 so somebody talk me out of it.

Aguero and Fletcher ---> Lukaku/Mitrovic and Walcott.

I feel like Walcott is going to be essential and there is no like for like replacement for Kun.
Lukaku is an obvious replacement but I like the idea of a punt on Mitrovic with his fixtures.

I would be placing my AOA card as I have Kolarov, Darmian, Evans with Ward for backup.

Front 8 would be: Mata, Payet, Walcott, Sanchez, Mahrez,
    Pelle, Vardy, Lukaku/Mitrovic

    Thoughts?

Think my bench my be called to duty next GW and it's awful. So awful it might bring on negative points.

Is there an ignore bench chip?

Lol same problem.. at least I've gotten rid of Darmian! Was on 100 points last GW before he came of the bench..
