Transfer activity is set to increase markedly over the next week as the community tackles the latest suspensions and injuries ahead of double Gameweek 37. Our community writers have been full of advice on securing the best options for the final three rounds of fixtures, while our hot topic posters have taken a detailed look at key assets from Chelsea and West Ham in particular. Over in our Members area there is more statistical advice for double Gameweek planners, including a look at the most bonus-friendly defenders and goal-hungry attackers. Finally, we see how a lacklustre Gameweek 35 for many managers affected our Community Tournament standings.

The Community Articles

For those looking for a new defender for double Gameweek 37, Balders’ article on the most likely to secure bonus points should prove vital reading.

Sticking with double fixture planning, Lateriser12 relaunched our Rate My Wildcard Team Surgery article series this week to help those still with this handy Fantasy Premier League chip to play ahead of Gameweek 37.

Looking ahead to Gameweek 36 Bolivian Seaman dropped by with his regular update from the fans’ forums.

Elsewhere, Kavali delivered his latest report on the rise and fall of the Fantasy veterans he is tracking over the last two Gameweeks.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Dele Alli’s three-match ban for violent conduct has his owners scrambling for a new midfielder. In our discussion on the best Alli replacement, Lateriser12 recommends West Ham’s attack-minded and budget friendly Manuel Lanzini, while Athletico Timbo has Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu in his sights.

Chelsea midfielders are a little more pricey, but for those with plenty in the bank or happy to take hits, the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Willian are attracting interest. As our discussion earlier in the week on their recent upturn in form shows there are plenty of Fantasy managers  looking to secure their services in time for the London side’s double Gameweek 37. This week’s Rough with the Smooth round up of your latest scores also showed how early investment in Chelsea players has already started paying dividends.

For Acquafresca, Watford’s Troy Deeney and Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe look among the best striker options for the forthcoming double Gameweek. Elsewhere, TM245 served up some more names to consider in his look back on the best players around the previous double Gameweek.

While early investment in double Gameweek players could prove fruitful, patience may be the best policy. Our discussion on double Gameweek planning considered whether waiting a week may offer Gameweek 37 planners vital, extra information to steal a march on their more trigger-happy rivals. In contrast, there are plenty of others who are prepared to take hits this week as they stock up early on players with an extra fixture.

The Members Tables

Sunderland attackers took centre stage in Kushal21’s latest table, while coopermacdonnell77 has delved into the attacking data to assess the best captaincy options for the season run in.

To supplement Balders’ community article on defender bonus potential, I’ve created this table, which looks in detail at the players doing well in the key criteria needed to secure these extra points.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form,

The Community Tournaments

In the FFScout moderators and contributors league Andy has regained the lead and opened up a 35-point gap over second-placed Evs.

Ralf Buckenmaier still tops Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season, however the number of teams in the overall top 1,000 has dropped from 16 to 13 following a difficult Gameweek 35.

Meanwhile, In Red Lightning’s January to May League Brad Craig is the new leader.

Those taking part in the Going Out With a Bang league, set up by Kings of Lyon to assess how the chips are being used for the season run-in, scored just 43 points on average, underlining what a tough week it was for many. With a score of 61 points, Enter Shaqiri takes the lead, closely followed by Baines on Toast in second and Eden Hazardous, who moves up to third.

The Long and Winding Road main league also has a new leader, with Jim Coft opening up a nine-point gap at the summit.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, Insane In De Bruyne hit the top score in Gameweek 35 with 58. There are now 14 teams left after 15 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 36.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Chelsea fan, so no! aha Just a great side, that have done very well and won big games like this one in particular.
If they get goals, Mahrez will be involved. Cant you play PVA and bench another defender?

This is your only option it seems.. unless you want to bench Kane or Kun.. the rest are great picks. Mahrez does seem almost the ideal player to bench after seeing your full team.

    A) Carrol, Hazard and Townsend

Let's talk about Darlow v DDG.

DDG is the better keeper, and while he usually does not get a lot of save points, he will probably face a lot of shots from Leicester. United have a chance of keeping a CS even against the mighty Foxes.

Darlow always gets a lot of save points, but is less likely to keep a cleanie. Palace are not potent, but they seem to perform better away, and they have a goal or two in them.

I think DDG is the better bet because he is the better keeper, and his team has better form for clean sheets. But Leicester almost always manage to score, so save points matter. I thin DDG will get more than usual save points in this match, and I think Newcastel will concede,so I am with DDG.

There is one more concern for me: I intend to play Mahrez. Should I play Darlow just because I don't want my keeper up agaist one of my attackers?

If you think it's that close between DDG and Darlow, play Darlow. You won't enjoy the game if you play DDG going off your reasoning.

I did not put it forward as reasoning. I just asked if you thought it mattered. I agree that it is flawed reasoning. This is really disappointing. This is exactly why I don't hang around here as much as I used to. You introduce an interesting topic and the only replies you get are snarky dismissals of something on the fringes of what you were talking about. TM and Jasong123 should be ashamed of themselves, seriously. I'm out, and well tired of this type of put-down camaraderie.

I was never putting you down - simply trying to help you make your decision by ensuring that you don't take into account irrelevant things.

In any case - I hardly think whether DDG OR Darlow will get more save points is an interesting topic that's ever going to inspire much discussion. Ultimately, if TM and I hadn't responded, no one would have.

Have to play one, bench three. What order for these players:

    (D) Simpson (mun)

Hmm. Play Firmino, then Gabriel, Simpson, Coutinho.

Don't see Coutinho playing at all, but there's no way he starts, so may as well put him at the back of the pack.

Firmino might not start either, but he's a better chance. Gabriel unlikely, but if he does play you'd want him up the subs order, and if he doesn't you'd have to get really unlucky for him to get a cameo.

If Cisse is playing and Mitro isn't, it'll be Cisse. Not that I trust him in the slightest.

Lukaku against Bournemouth? I feel as though Sturridge will be saved for Thursday.

Bit worried about this after playing wc in GW33

    Robles (BOU) / Forster (MCI)
Monreal (NOR), Azpi (TOT), Moreno (swa) / Gabriel (NOR), Darmian (LEI)
Mahrez (mnu), Iwobi (NOR), Firmino (swa), Coutinho (swa) / Mata (LEI)
Aguero (sou), Kane (sto), Rashford (LEI)

    2 FT, £2.7m ITB

Expecting Gabriel and Mata to be benched, Coutinho, Firmino to be rested, Darmian not certain. Potential disaster looming.

8 in the squad ready for DGW but only one striker. Got Triple captain and AOA to play.

Shall I just go Gabriel -> PVA and ???->Payet? Or is Kaboul as good a bet as PVA? Or maybe Nathan Ake for the Villa game?

A lot of Liverpool supporters think Sturridge will be saved for Thursday. Firmino could get in the side if Klopp feels as though he won't play him Thursday. Buying someone like Moreno/Firmino is not a bad bet if you're on a wildcard and have great substitutes. Sturridge takes us a valuable striker spot I feel. One may argue Sturridge should be fit for both legs but I don't think Klopp can afford taking chances. Liverpool arrived at merseyside at around 3 am and travelling to Wales might be taxing on the players.
