Honestly, flip a coin. Both should do well.

I'm in Aguero....but his lack of minutes concerns me. Auba is in form & should deliver. Do you have a City mid to start? If so, give Auba a go....I reckon Arsenal might surprise city

Come on, at least Morata is nailed, which puts him above the other two competing for a spot.

Unless Willian leaves of course, in which case Pedro is a quality pick

Morata’s form will dwindle because he’s low on confidence. Pedro won’t be first team for long. Willian will be gone by end of August.

And those are the verybissues why he never will be. Many Spur’s fans want him sold because of the very thinks you say he needs to sort out. It’s a bit like saying ‘Boris Johnson would be a good PM if he wasn’t a fat, lying buffoon’.

Why is it such a popular strategy to get 2 of the 7.0/6.5 forwards? Makes it quite hard to get the likes of Kane, Aguero, Firmino in if they start scoring

    2. Dr. Rog
      • 16 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

they are better value than the 6.5-7 mids I suppose
likewise, the 9-9.5 mids looks better than the 9-9.5 forwards

general concensus is 1 x 11.0 slot is template, and kane isnt worth 1.5m more than Aguero/Auba/Lukaku

    3. Business Cat
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Getting 2 of them and an 11m forward basically pays the Salah-tax in the midfield

    4. QuintonFortune25
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

Well you could just downgrade one to a 4.5 and upgrade the other to a Firmino, but yes more tricky with Kane or Aguero

Value. Can upgrade Aguero or Aubameyang to Kane for 1.5. Having two premium forwards would then be tough, although not so much with Firmino cos he’s only 9.5.

Any chance FPL 5-year World Ranking could be shown rather than years using site?

    I am predicting GW1 - Arsenal v Man City 3-4

I am predicting a lot of goals in GW1 and then a nosedive which means cheap defenders are just fine. Here is an unverified summary from last year (GW Total Goals, and no. teams with CS points):

    GW1 Goals=31 and CS= 8 (surprise Burnley beat Chelsea 3-2, Arsenal beat Leicester 4-3)
    GW2 Goals=22 and CS=7 (Man U 4-0 v Swansea)
GW3 Goals =20 and CS=9 (Liverpool 4-0 over Arsenal, Newcastle 3-0 over West Ham)
    GW4 Goals = 28 and CS=7 (Man City 5-0 over Liverpool)
    GW5 Goals = 21 and CS=9 (Man City 6-0 over Watford)
    GW6 Goals = 28 and CS=7 (Man City 5-0 over Crystal Palace)

I am currently on the strategy of super cheap defense and get any points you can from attack, since CS are relatively easy and consistent, especially if you focus on bottom 10 team-matchups like GW1 Watford-BHA

I am though still considering a solid GK like even De Gea to park and forget, but still thinking approx 22.5 on the defense max.

    Thoughts?

Think there will be less than 7 goals in that game.

I highly doubt it - Arsenal is at home and relatively rested, Man City is just Man City = I would expect a barnstormer match with both trying to prove they will win the EPL this year -- one of these 2 teams will launch the first salvo in very early stages of the match (first 20 minutes), might be a keystone game for the entire season, with Liverpool also making moves to show they can score early.

My prediction is that this year the goals will increase by 10% this year, goals will come earlier in matches.

*Sorry but just a copy-paste from earlier notes I edited out:

Overall, there were 1,018 goals scored last year and the figures match a bit, 12% scored in the first 13% (first 5 GWs). I don't have the figures for CS at hand but it doesn't seem to favor defense or attack - but it is interesting that CS are so consistent, and mostly aren't from Top 6 teams but from the lower table matches (again, I'm just eyeballing it) so it seems you might be able to flip around cheapie defenders rather than invest heavily in defense, or that that trade-off cost is too high except for the premium? Still working that one out....

I will do my best to write this up properly and submit to the community section, might be too crazy though! Cheers, Powers

i agree with focusing on bottom half teams defense's when they play each other , too bad they have to play top half teams too 😆

Exactly why you rotate low-level, cheapie defenders but keep big money forwards and midfielders who are "fixture-proof", a la Salah.

Trent looked off the pace when he came on (understandably so). Highly doubtful he'll start vs West Ham.
