Hmm, how secure is Austins place, and are we confident there'll be a 6 or less FWD option if he doesn't?

It's quite secure as long as he is fit.

I might get him I feel he’s definitely starting GW1, great FPL player When he gets a run in the team. Always need a FT on standby with him though

Indeed, I'm happy to need a FT if there's another 6 option, problem is if it needs 2xFT to downgrade elsewhere to replace him..

    Sorry, post got "bottomed".

Does anyone know what the Watford defence is likely to line up like this season?

I'm interested in Holebas for a little attacking threat, but don't want any of my cheaper defenders to be at risk of not starting. Waste of early transfers.

      Final game of the pre-season:

      (442) Foster; Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas; Hughes (Charles, 71), Capoue, Pereyra, Sema; Deeney (C), Gray.

Subs | Gomes (GK), Dahlberg (GK), Prödl, Mariappa, Wilmot, Navarro, Femenía, Masina, Success, Charles
Injuries: Deulofeu, Doucouré, Cleverley, Chalobah, Okaka

Because most played 90, I think it's a very good estimation of their GW1 team.

I really don't get the managers that say miki isn't nailed, emery will play either 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 so miki will play as a RW in the former and RAM in the latter

Can’t wait to watch arsenal’s First 2 games to get some answers, and probably more questions.

Mkhi, Ozil & Lacazette interest me from Arsenal, Auba & Ramsey less so

Mkhi may not play RW. Ozil and Auba should be nailed. So it’s between Laca and Mkhi for the third spot. And Laca has really impressed in pre-season.

A lot of talk preseason about how many points a player got last season or will get over the course of the full upcoming season. How many actual season keepers will we have this year? Isn’t it about trying to maximise the output of the players available based on their more immediate form and fixtures?

Pretty much - although this season, Liverpool from GW1, City from GW2 & Arsenal from GW3 have nice fixture runs though so we are seeing an overlap between players that offer short term and long term points, quite a good deal imo

In all honesty, is Salah actually worth the extra 3.5 million over Mane!? His underlying stats show that he massively overperformed in terms of goals scored than expected for his number of shots on target, big chances etc.

Thats my dilemma too. Only option for me would be doubling up on Mane and Firmino - but there is the danger that you'll get blown out of the water if Salah performs and is captained.
Easier to start with him and take him out than the other way round

    3. Champ
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Much of his scoring was down to high quality finishing. Stats only tell part of the picture. When you captain him that's where his value is given his consistency I think

Salah is priced at a 27% premium over Mané, yet scored 51% more points last season. So yes?

I see your point, but Mane was injured and suspended for several games last year which limited his minutes. You’re not going to keep him if his injured, therefore this is inaccurate.

    Morning guys,

I'm going 5 premium defenders this season and keeper. Which would you suggest?

At the moment, to star the season off, I'm on DDG, Mendy, Azpi, Robertson, Bavies, Laporte

    Who would you change?

Don't need comment on my strategy though thanks, just which do you think would be the best premiums to start off with.

DDG seems safe Utd pick, but a bit overpriced imo.
Bavies - solid but with these opening fixtures, i would go somewhere else
      Mendy - seems fine
      Azpi - seems fine
Laporte - dont like the risk, he will play vs Arse, and after that where the good fixures start, he might be benched

TBH I didn't realise Walker started and played 90 on Sunday.

      Mendy, Walker, Robertson, Azpi, Bellerin
      Salah, 5m, 5m, 5m, 4.5m
      Aguero, Aubam, 4.5m

I'd say he could become an option but one to monitor first for me.

Mourinhoitis is the problem for me. I'll punt 5m on Shaw but not invest more in United until I know more about his sanity.

Those fixtures though - Sanchez could explode!

Who is the better pick (for the season - not just GW1)?
    A: Kane
    B: Aub
    C: Lukaku

(Not incl Kun as he is a rotation risk I think)

Kane if money no issue, then Aub.
I would pick Aguero over Lukaku, will score more over the season

Guys I think we are definitely
underestimating Shaqiri's potential. He is 7.5m and if he starts tonight In that hole behind Firmino with Mane and Salah on both flanks then I think this makes him a better pick that Mane. He scored 8 points more than Mane last season and is now playing for Liverpool not stoke. Klopp knows Shaqiri from the bundesliga days and I think he will be a starter most of the season just behind Firmino. Any Thoughts ?

Not sure re this. My concern is the rotation risk and how he fits with Keita in the side.

I think Naby Keita is first choice for that spot.

      https://www.thisisanfield.com/2018/08/do-liverpool-fans-realise-just-how-good-new-midfielder-naby-keita-will-be/

"Predominantly, as has been the case in pre-season so far, Keita will most likely play as a No. 8 in the 4-3-3, giving him the license to drive forward and link up with the attack."

It is also possible to switch Son to Mahrez and then Ederson and Speroni for example to Fabianski & Ryan.
