Two Premier League matches kick off simultaneously at 19:15 GMT this evening and bring Gameweek 12 to a close.

Arsenal are looking to end a three-game losing streak at the Emirates when they take on Burnley, while Leicester City’s own iffy home form will be put to the test against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The absence of Tariq Lamptey (£4.8m) from the Seagulls’ matchday squad is the headline team news, with Graham Potter saying the wing-back’s omission was precautionary in nature:

The exclusion of Lamptey is one of three changes that Graham Potter has made from Monday’s 2-1 defeat by Southampton, with Aaron Connolly (£5.3m) and Adam Webster (£4.4m) also dropping out.

Neal Maupay (£6.1m), Alireza Jahanbakhsh (£5.4m) and Dan Burn (£4.3m) are recalled for Albion.

As for Leicester, Brendan Rodgers has largely stuck with the same side that snatched a last-gasp win over Sheffield United last Sunday.

Wilfred Ndidi (£4.8m) is in for Nampalys Mendy (£4.5m) but the Foxes are otherwise unchanged.

In north London, Mikel Arteta has made just one alteration from their defeat to Spurs.

It’s an enforced one, too, with the injured Thomas Partey (£5.0m) replaced by Mohamed Elneny (£4.4m) in central midfield.

Sean Dyche has named the same starting XI that drew 1-1 against Everton last weekend.

Arsenal XI: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Willian, Xhaka, Elneny, Saka, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Burnley XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Westwood, Brownhill, McNeil, Brady, Wood, Rodriguez.

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel, Fofana, Evans, Fuchs, Albrighton, Tielemans, Ndidi, Justin, Pérez, Maddison, Vardy.

Brighton and Hove Albion XI: Ryan, Veltman, Dunk, Burn, Bissouma, White, March, Gross, Jahanbakhsh, Maupay, Welbeck.

Had a bad start to the week but Vardy captain did well for me considering no Salah.
How does 57 points rank around here?

Smug Vardy captainer here.. Just wondered whether anyone else has a thing about giving the armband to someone whose game is later in the gw? Has served me well recently (and means your weekend isn't ruined quite so early if they blank

It’s irrational but I have to admit it has been a consideration in the past when split between two options

Exactly this - it's a useful deciding factor if caught between multiple options. Better than flipping a coin.

Yup, same here. If nothing else it gives you a useful way of deciding if caught between two (I also have KDB)

It doesn't if there's a standout cap but this week is a classic where I have two (KDB and Bruno). I'll go latter bc his game is later - psychologically, even if KDB hauls I won't be disappointed as I still have hope for a Bruno haul.

I was considering just Jota > Zaha?

      1. Riggs
        • 7 Years
        5 years, 3 months ago

I am not keen ot Zaha really. He is in great form this season. I had him before COVID illness, but he is rather hit-and-miss player IMHO and when you need points the most he often disappoints. After that will haul and you're struggling with keep or sell situation. Grealish is kinda similar but in my view shows more steady form IMO 🙂 And Palace's fixtures are not that great and besides last week, they don't score a lot 🙂 But I probably be wrong, can stand corrected 😀

    Vardy to Bamford
    Jota to Bruno

Sensible moves right? Also, do I pull the trigger tonight to avoid any price changes as I will be priced out? Are there gonna be pressers before the next GW so maybe I can risk waiting it out if they are not close to rising.

I’ve got no idea to be honest but it looks like he has started the last 6 games.

How much to spend on an 8th attacker depends how often you think you’ll use them. Currently I’ve got Brewster on my bench along with Kilman and (annoyingly this week) Justin. Now I think about it I’d rather have a a decent defender on the bench than a cheap striker you hope to never use. At least you might want to rotate a your defence based on fixtures, but you’ll only ever use a cheap striker if somebody doesn’t play.

Don't like either A or B because Stones and Mahrez are prone to rotation, though I'd choose A if pressed. Happy birthday my friend!

    1) Bowen and Kane

    2) Adams and KDB

On 2 and captaining KDb, but could do with some validation in this shocking season...

The fixtures are already mad during this period.

Anyone else considering Curtis Jones for 5th spot in Midfield?. Cheap at 4.4m

    Thanks

I’d say for the next 2-3 weeks with Ox, Keita and Thiago still not match fit
