Salah and Alexander-Arnold start as Klopp gives update on Jota’s knee injury

The most-captained and most-bought player of Gameweek 12 features in the third of five matches on a busy Sunday afternoon of Premier League football.

Mohamed Salah (ยฃ12.3m) was transferred in by just over 400,000 Fantasy Premier League managers ahead of Friday’s deadline and now sits in more than one in three FPL squads.

Over 1.5 million Fantasy bosses have handed him the armband today.

Jurgen Klopp’s only two changes from Gameweek 11 sees two first-team regulars return from injury.

Alisson (ยฃ5.9m) is back in goal in place of Caoimhin Kelleher (ยฃ4.5m), while Trent Alexander-Arnold (ยฃ7.2m) ousts Neco Williams (ยฃ4.0m) from the right-back spot.

Diogo Jota (ยฃ7.0m) misses out as expected and the former Wolves player could well be out until February, with his manager saying ahead of kick-off:

It’s worse than we first thought and better than we then thought. The potential surgeons had a look at it, no surgery needed but he will be out for a while. We don’t know exactly… one-and-a-half, two months?

It’s pretty similar with Kostas Tsimikas, by the way. Unbelievable.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (ยฃ6.3m) is back on the bench for the visitors.

Fulham make one change from the side that lost 2-0 at Manchester City, with Mario Lemina (ยฃ4.5m) replacing the benched Harrison Reed (ยฃ4.4m).

Aleksandar Mitrovic (ยฃ5.6m) is not in the Cottagers’ squad having picked up a minor knock in training.

    Does it make sense to move Vardy out for Kane? Planning that move post LIV - SPURS. Spurs seem to be in full Mourinho mode of scoring first and then sitting back defending their one goal lead.

    Got 7.9 for Jota replacement but looks like Soucek is the only option worth having for that price or lower. Would allow me to either get Son in for Grealish or move to 3-4-3 by upgradeing Brewster.

      Ha yep finished 8k last year and currently 1.8m. Villa game postponed last week with 3 of them, benched Martinez for McCarthy this week etc etc. Only 132 captain points.

      I got a lot of 50/50 calls right last season and looks like it is balancing itself out, imagine same for you?

      I'm not having as rough a time as you, but it definitely feels like the most frustrating season I've played. Been stuck at ~500k for what feels like forever.

    Think I've been lucky this GW:

    Was firmly against bringing in Salah (C). Surely Salah would be rested after Klopp's strange decision to play him against Midtjylland.

    Then came the Jota potential injury news, via FFS on Friday and Jota > Soucek & Fernandes > Salah (C) -4 at 18:28. I would have kept Fernandes and captained Son so net gain of 2 points.

    I was dithering so much that I missed benching Lampety and was annoyed that his replacement was 3 on my bench...step forward Targett with your 5 points ๐Ÿ™‚

        I know what you mean but it was a pen, under the rules. It's the rules that are crazy. It used to be a penalty for a deliberate hand ball.

        This idea of awarding for Pens for these kind of incidents started in Europe years ago...just like going down with slightest touch. IMO it's ruining the traditional English game where a hardworking team making committed tackles could come away with a result

          Crazy was not the rule, but breaking it with this result at this level is another matter. Shouldn't be too difficult to remember rules of the game.

      Forgot to add the 9 from Soucek so a net gain of 11 but the reason I had the -4 was that I did Soucek > Jota in GW11 and missed his 8 points against United
