So…TAA for the double over Salah?
    Certainly easier to do!

    GW24
    Saliba -> Doughty
    (Already have Gabriel)

    GW25
    Porro & Richy -> TAA & Garnacho (-4)

    Y/N? Is TAA dead?

    Best move here?

    A) Alvarez + Saka + Trippier —> Haaland + Garnacho + Doughty (-4)
    B) Alvarez + Saka + Gross + TAA —> Haaland + Jota + Garnacho + Gomez (-8)
    C) Alvarez + Saka + TAA —> Haaland + Barkley + Doughty (-4) (Makes it very tough to get Jota GW25)

    Cheers!

Do you think KdB will outscore Saka until 29? Was thinking bringing him in for a hit but with Arsenal fixture run I’m not really sure it’s worth a valuable transfer and budget…

    Thoughts?

My response to a similar question on this (plus a related point on Watkins)

Personally I’m keeping Saka and Watkins. Have had both from day 1 so have value tied up but regardless they are both nailed and in form for teams that score plenty on their day. Saka > KDB could well pay off but Saka has Burnley in the double week and KDB could have minutes managed so I’d be inclined to stick rather than twist on that one

There doesn't seem to many people contemplating

    GW29 - FH
    GW30-33 - WC

This seems logical to me as there are still some decent fixtures to target in BGW29.

I think the problem with this is that (i believe) it is unlikely any/many teams will double in both 34 and 37

100%. Depends on state of your team right now and getting through GW26 after the small DGW. I've neither the discipline nor the inclination to plan that far ahead though 🙂

Definitely WC as close as I can to 34, but the fixtures just don't seem to warrant FH29 over 34/37.
I guess its all team dependant. Both my keepers play in 29, + Porro, Watkins & Bowen, and Jota is already pencilled in to become Son in 27, so I've already got half the team I'd FH in anyway.

Fifth Round Proper - Wednesday 28 February 2024
    Quarter-final - Saturday 16 March 2024 (GW29)
    Semi-final - Saturday 20 April 2024
    The Final - Saturday 25 May 2024

We will have three weeks to prepare for GW29 BGW
after GW26 (BGW) - looking at the moment to FH but
might pause hold until the 5th round completed

    The big Q

    A) Gross to Jota (bench Solanke)

Current team, 0,0 in bank and 1 FT

    Dubravka (Areola)
    TAA Gabriel Porro (Estu Maguire)
    Saka Foden Jota Palmer (Gordon)
    Watkins Solanke Haaland

    Current thought:

24 Douglas Luiz and Darwin for Gordon and Solanke -4
    25 Save
26 Pau and Bowen for TAA og Jota
    27 Son for Foden
28 Solanke and Doughty for Darwin and Estupinan -4 (Doughty if he has a game in 29 otherwise skip)
29 Richa and Toney for Saka and Solanke -4

Would give me 9-10 for BGW 29 and a decent team in 30 so probably Wildcard in 31 or 32.

    Thoughts?

    A. TAA, Palmer, Van Hecke (roll FT)

Depends a bit (ok, a lot) on team news and obviously very team dependent, but FH25 is an option for me. Seems like something content creators haven't seriously considered yet, but if you work FTs carefully could enable a much easier navigation of BGW26/29. Downside is no FH for 34/37, but the WC might allow you to navigate both relatively ok anyway?

I don't see why it isn't given he will be able to start Solanke and Watkins this week, bring in Jota for a tasty home fixture and the DGW and then get rid of Estu whose starting spot is no longer guaranteed.

    Leaning towards chip strategy below

    - TC25: straightforward on Haaland
    - WC27: setup for DGW28 and BGW29. Use FTs to target non FH GW
    - BB28: target double after WC
    - FH34/37: predicted teams doubling are different so FH to cover one of them

I bought him when he was 4.9 and he is now 5.9. My other cheapie is Garnacho. I haven't chucked how they rotate, but basically only Arsenal, MCI snd Liv are mean defences that I would be unhappy to start them. So I guess I will tryvto avoid selling him and rather use that tied money to more expensive def. I will want him back anyway, so not worth selling in my case imo. Different story had I bought him later.

      1. Bob B
        • 12 Years
        2 years, 4 months ago

Also got him at 4.9, 5.9 means we can bank the 0.5 and I'd imagine he'd drop over the course of two blanks (wouldn't be affected by flags either). It's a gamble though.

My alternative strategy with 7 doublers (Haaland, Foden, Bernardo, Jota, TAA, Toney, Barkley):

    BB - GW25
    WC - GW30/31
    FH - GW34/37
TC - GW28/34/37 (Solanke in 28, with an eye on how the doubles open up in 34/37)

i was going to do this until i blew my BB in order to shape my team for the future. My bench out scored the -16 I took, yet the points I missed by rushing it was a net negative.

      Now it's:

      gw25 TC
      gw30 WC
      gw34 Free Hit
gw37 should be more of the bigger team doubling anyway, who I'll probably have their players mostly by default anyway.

I'm not on board with Villa defenders, I don't think they are that good. I always feel like they are going to concede playing that high line. They remind me of City, statistically it's a good defence but they will more than likely find ways to concede.

Someone tonight did make a very good point, yes plan for stuff but don't ignore the shiny players who can get points between now and 29.

Wolves feel ripe for investment with Cunha, Hwang, Neto and Ait-Nouri. They also rotate great with Newcastle up to 32 with perfect home fixtures. Sure it doesn't work in 29 (yet) but round that could net you some serious points whilst everyone is over planning.

Cunha and Gordon are my 7th and 8th attackers currently. Newcastle are rubbish away and Wolves are a match for every team that weekend at home.

well so far we know this, but more is undecided. Ben Crellin does have a % chart on his Twitter page if you want to consult it.

gw25 Luton Liverpool Man City Brentford double

gw26 Spurs Chelsea Luton Liverpool blank

          gw28 Luton and Bournemouth Double

          gw29 confirmed fixtures are:

          Fulham vs Spurs
          West Ham vs Villa
          Burnley vs Brentford

no other fixtures are currently guaranteed as the depend on who progresses in the FA Cup.

gw34 & gw37 is completely guesswork on who is going to double, we know Spurs vs Chelsea needs rearranging somewhere but both not in Europe so could be either.

gw37 has a greater chance of having the top 6/8/10 clubs or whatever doubling, because the chances of them progressing the furthest in the cup is greater.

          hope that helps.
