apart from the haul, how did Palmer play ?

He has put on some muscle recently

Everything seem to go through him and looked like creating a huge chance everytime he had the ball (specially after 3-2). But should be said, that Wolves defensive performance was one of the worse I've seen in a long while from a PL team.

Wasnt he a bit slow on the ball ? (Coz of the muscle mass he put on)

      He was superb.
Literally playing on another field to everyone else. The boy is something else he really is. He simply makes things happen.

Unbelievable that he got 3 assists and a goal while literally playing on another field.

For me, it's fine to sell players before a price drop when the player can no longer guarantee starts or uncertainy with xMins like Quansah and Nkunku especially at the start of the season.

Selling players like Eze which tick all the boxes as an FPL pick, good expected data and good upcoming fixtures doesn't make sense to me. Yes he hasn't got the returns but has been unlucky imo. We are trying to predict future returns.

Happens always early in the season. Wait for the "oh, I am always so unlucky" complaints if Eze hauls.

Is this not Palace related rather than Eze? They don't look great as a team. Not the best transfer window. Starting to look albeit early days as if that spell last season was honeymoon period for Glasner rather than the new norm. Speaking as an owner Eze's been unlucky but at the same time they were from hollywood shots, I don't think they've created loads of big chances as a team and that goal against Brentford was pure flukey bad defending from Pinnock. From the eye test he looks good but he's making a lot of bad decisions too in the final third and its affecting the team.

1.1 xGI in two matches + a wrongfully disallowed goal speak volumes for him. I am not an Eze owner but definitely wouldn't be selling if I was.

I'm keeping Eze but mad I fell for the hype before GW1. I started with him last season he had great numbers and got 1 goal and 0 assists in 7 then injured. I think I sold before the 1 goal but worked out at the time

Tough getting the balance right with patience on players.

The decision process is what I can control. If it's good process and no returns, I wouldn't be too hard on myself.

I think Palmer may genuinely be the better choice, though there’s not much in it.

Though bear in mind most will captain Haaland. Owning Palmer at this point is enough of a differential imo, but up to you if you want to go all out to try and get ahead!

I'm not sure about them. The fixtures are still fine but they were very lucky not to lose yesterday and probably didn't deserve to beat Southampton. Something isn't clicking at the moment and I'd fancy Spurs to beat them unless they improve a lot. That doesn't mean Isak and Gordon can't score FPL points of course.

Thoughts on Son and Jota to Palmer and Eze for free. Yes, Son and Jota could do well but I think Palmer and Eze have better fixtures moving forward + thinking Jotas minutes *may be lessened.

    Henderson
    TAA, Porro, Murrilo
    Salah, Saka, MGW, ___, ___
    Muniz, Isaak

    Robinson, 4.5, 4.0

Don’t see Jota missing games unless injured, him & Diaz look nailed as first choice

    WC complete.

    Sanchez
    Gabriel, Robertson, Robinson
Salah (perma C GW 4-7), Palmer (C GW 3) Saka, Rogers, Semenyo
    Watkins, Isak

    Fabianksi, João Pedro, Konsa, Faes

Got to take a punt on those fixtures for Watkins (will transfer him in after the price drop) and still fancy Isak to come good. Rest is pretty template. Would like Trent, but hoping Robertson can match him.

No Haaland as I can only captain one player per block of fixtures and I'm gonna go with Salah and spread the cash a bit.

Semenyo will be 1st sub from next week (no transfers allowed until int breaks). Might go with a Fulham mid instead.

Only player I'm unsure on is João, but he seems a good short term pick, right? I have a thing about Brighton - they never deliver for me.

Close to one I’m considering, only
      Sanchez > Raya
      Semy > ESR
      Gabriel > Lewis

Need a strong first sub in case of injuries (no transfers allowed unless in Int breaks), otherwise I'd be all over that.

Defence may undergo a shuffle, but rest unlikely to change.

        Only the 5.0 he provides.

Konsa and Munoz would be my two options to consider. Certainly nailed options due to THB and Barco as 4/5th def

I currently have Burns on the bench (because of triple NEW). And I’ve been switching btw Woods, Eze & Gordon for the 2nd bench player.

Won’t be surprised if the bench players outscore the others…

For folks worried about Henderson being dropped abd replaced with Johnstone...

Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Sam Johnstone and Naouirou Ahamada have both asked to leave Crystal Palace before Friday’s transfer deadline.

OG: “It doesn’t make sense to always keep secrets.

“Sam told us he wants to leave. If he finds a club, he can leave."

Depends on who can slot in best (i.e. has good fixtures) when you’re comfortable playing only 2 of your other defenders.

None of them are really actually any good but have outside CS chances in good fixtures (bar possibly that Villa right-back and Johnson but neither of them are really nailed).

No but I feel like having haaland and salah don't allow a balanced team, I have gone for Salah as I expect him to be up there with haaland and allows me to get 2.6 spent elsewhere

      Plenty different. My 2 cents:

Newcastle defence not for me right now. Martinez a shout? More of a fixtures play.

Dunno how long Mazroui keeps his place. Also reckon his returns have been pretty lucky this far.

Think you're a bit early on Wissa - good game this week, then 2 tough ones. Not sure what's happening with Toney yet either (transfer window shuts Fri? so we may know more).

Non-Haaland City picks always risky with Pep - would look elsewhere. Szmodics if you're feeling zesty, perhaps?

Post IB When Rutter , Gruda and maybe Ferguson are fit to play and with Enciso and Adingra pushing for starts is Joao pedro a safe option long term? I guess his main advantage is he can play as both a 9 and a 10 but overall it seems going with him may be a bit risky

    1. Valar(Keith)
      • 16 Years
      1 year, 7 months ago

      Gruda and Adingra probably irrelevant..

But Rutter, Ferguson, Welbeck and Pedro will be fighting for 2 spots basically

      1. Valar(Keith)
        • 16 Years
        1 year, 7 months ago

As I type this out I answer my own qyestion..

You can only play Ferguson and Welbeck as out and out strikers.. you cant play both rutter and ferguson. Rutter can play on the wing as proved yesterday if needed. so the spot behind the striker should be Pedro's. So even though he plays very deep due to this he should start more often than not and on penos. Doubt he ll ever be the out and out striker though.. however of rutter becomes first choice Pedro may become more attacking due to rutters general play

The upside you get for a 5.5 fwd pen taker who is playing 90mins at the moment is too good though..other 5.5 fwds play for far worse teams
