We continue our FA Cup round-up with a slightly briefer version of our Scout Notes, which includes the latest quotes on Gabriel Jesus‘ (£6.9m) injury.
As usual with the Scout Notes, it’s less about the on-field action in isolation and more about the wider Fantasy Premier League (FPL) talking points.

JESUS + TIMBER LATEST
Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious knee injury in Sunday’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
The Brazilian was immediately stretchered off, with fears he has ruptured his ACL.
Mikel Arteta wouldn’t confirm a timescale for the injury in his Tuesday press conference but admitted Arsenal are “very worried” about the striker.
“We know more now and it’s not looking good at all but we need to review one more specialist. So, probably we will have the latest information this afternoon. I don’t want to confirm anything until we have the final report this afternoon, I think it’s the doctor’s job to do that, but we were very worried straight away after the game and we are very worried today.” – Mikel Arteta on Gabriel Jesus
Losing Jesus to injury further limits Arteta’s attacking options ahead of Wednesday’s north London derby.
Kai Havertz (£7.8m) will likely start up front in Gameweek 21, but the German missed a host of chances on Sunday, scuffing more than one shot at goal.
In an eventful afternoon, he also won the penalty which Martin Odegaard (£8.3m) failed to convert in normal time and missed a spot-kick of his own in the shootout.
The Gunners had further opportunities to score but only Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.4m) could find a way past Altay Bayindir (£4.3m), who was superb throughout.
Elsewhere, Jurrien Timber (£5.7m) was spotted limping and holding his hamstring before his substitution but it’s good news on that front, with cramp rather than an injury cited as the cause.
DALOT BAN/WHY AMAD WAS BENCHED
Manchester United had to play with 10 men for nearly an hour in north London after Diogo Dalot (£5.0m) was shown a second yellow card.
The Portuguese wing-back will now serve a one-match ban and sit out the plum home tie with Southampton in Gameweek 21.
Despite that, this was a positive United performance, with the backline solid and Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) once again pulling the strings further forward.
The playmaker delivered a moment of real quality with his goal, a lovely curled finish, and also scored in the shootout.
With Alejandro Garnacho (£6.0m) slotting in next to Fernandes in a No 10 role, Amad Diallo (£5.4m) was left on the bench and only entered the fray in the 80th minute.
A surprise absentee, it was later revealed he had a “small injury”.
“Amad had a small issue during the week and I like the way Garnacho plays – he is playing well. The way he is training we felt it was a good opportunity to see Garnacho start the game.” – Ruben Amorim on Amad Diallo
PALACE ABSENCES EXPLAINED
Eberechi Eze (£6.6m) got Crystal Palace off to a flying start on Sunday, scoring the only goal against Stockport County.
It was Eze’s sixth goal of the season in all competitions and his second in three games.
Daichi Kamada (£5.1m) also impressed in a deeper midfield role.
The bigger story from an FPL perspective was Palace’s absentees, however.
Illness swept through the Eagles camp in the build-up to this tie, ruling out goalkeeper Dean Henderson (£4.5m).
Maxence Lacroix (£4.5m), Tyrick Mitchell (£4.8m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.2m) were also unwell and even though they were named in the matchday squad, didn’t make it onto the pitch.
Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner said a “contractual issue” meant Trevoh Chalobah (£4.4m) was left out. There has been speculation around Chalobah’s future with his parent club Chelsea having a recall option on the defender.
“It’s not easy to explain. It was a contractual issue – we had to take care. This is why he didn’t play. I’m not a lawyer, but I was told that in this round, it was better for him not to play. I found out yesterday evening. It was internal (there was no contact from parent club Chelsea).
“I know he wants to stay here and we want him to stay at the club, but there is still 19 days to go in the transfer window. I want this squad to stay together. I know Trevoh and Marc Guehi want to stay – these are the main talking points in the last days. Trevoh is expected to be available at Leicester on Wednesday.” – Oliver Glasner on Trevoh Chalobah
KULUSEVSKI IMPACT
Tottenham Hotspur needed extra time to see off non-league Tamworth 3-0 on Sunday.
In truth, the scoreline flattered Spurs, who were poor and lethargic for large periods in the opening 90 minutes.
A Tamworth own-goal eventually broke the deadlock on 101 minutes, before Dejan Kulusevski (£6.5m) and Brennan Johnson (£6.4m) wrapped up the win late on.
Kulusevski in particular made a difference off the bench, showing real quality with a goal before winning the ball back high up the pitch to set up Johnson.
Antonin Kinsky (£4.5m) also deserves credit for his display, in what was just his second appearance after making his debut in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Liverpool.
On the injury front, Timo Werner (£6.2m) picked up a hamstring issue in Staffordshire and is likely to miss Gameweek 21 as a result.
