We return to the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price list with a look at the best £6.0m midfielders.
ENZO LE FEE
Enzo Le Fee (£6.0m) had a very decent campaign last season, delivering five goals and six assists.
Defensive contribution (DefCon) points were a nice little bonus, too: he got 16 of those.
In terms of creativity, he’s a standout in this price bracket, ranking joint-eighth among all players in 2025/26 for big chances created:
The Sunderland midfielder could have the advantage of spot-kicks at Sunderland. He scored three and missed one of the Black Cats’ penalties last season.
However, Habib Diarra (£5.5m) is also in the mix, and it was very much a job share in 2025/26.
Le Fee was recently left out of Sunderland’s squad for the pre-season victory over Wrexham, but the injury has been described as minor.
Prior to that, Le Fee had scored three times in pre-season, including a brilliant strike against Liverpool, when he played centrally in a 4-1-4-1.
“Since the end of last season, I’ve been playing in the same position so I think it helps me a lot to always be in the same position. I like to be in the middle, have the ball and control the tempo. I want to be one of the best players in this position but I have to work even more than I already do. It’s always nice to score. I don’t always score a lot but I want to score more this season. ILIMAN NDIAYE/JAMES GARNER
Al-Hilal have shown interest in Iliman Ndiaye (£6.0m) this summer, but for now, it looks like he will stay at Everton.
He took and scored both of the Toffees’ penalties last season.
Pens aside, he netted four goals from open play, supplied three assists and chipped in with 12 DefCon points.
Ndiaye only averaged a shot every 64.7 minutes in 2025/26, which is pretty poor.
However, as shown in his shot map below, he did at least get into good, high-value areas, with quite a few attempts from central positions.
It’s the early fixtures which appeal, too.
Everton top the ticker in the first six Gameweeks, with Ipswich Town at home and Hull City away the stand-out matches.
James Garner (£6.0m) averaged 4.2 points per start compared to Ndiaye’s 4.0 last season. His tally was supplemented by 40 DefCon points, the second-most of any midfielder.
However, Garner could miss the start of the season after having successful surgery for a groin issue, so he could be a Fantasy non-starter for Gameweek 1.
MARCUS TAVERNIER/JUSTIN KLUIVERT
Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert are both priced at £6.0m.
Firstly, the Cherries have a tough start to the new season.
They will travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City on the opening weekend. They also face Liverpool and Chelsea in the first six Gameweeks.
However, Marco Rose’s front-foot, attacking approach could still pose problems for those defences.
Indeed, although Bournemouth sit second-bottom on the ticker in terms of fixture difficulty in Gameweeks 1-6, they are actually ranked ninth for projected goals in that same period:
Kluivert notched a hat-trick in the recent pre-season friendly win over Genoa, including two penalties.
Tavernier also converted two spot-kicks last season, so there is no definitive answer over who is first choice when both players are on the pitch.
However, it’s worth pointing out that Kluivert was the regular taker under Andoni Iraola in 2024/25 (with Tavernier on the pitch) before injury struck last year. He was also injured/off the field for all of the Cherries’ penalties last season.
Eli Junior Kroupi (£7.5m) will also be in the penalty mix upon his return, although that won’t be for some time yet.
His absence could hand more opportunities to Kluivert in the No 10 role.
Alex Scott, another £6.0m midfielder option at Bournemouth, has impressed in pre-season. He banked 30 DefCon points in 2025/26, but Tavernier and Kluivert had the best underlying attacking numbers, which is captured in the image below.
MATEUS FERNANDES
Mateus Fernandes (£6.0m) ended the 2025/26 season with three goals and four assists in 36 matches for relegated West Ham United.
Although these figures are modest, he combined those seven attacking returns with 30 DefCon points, the fifth-most of any midfielder.
Fernandes has since made the switch to Tottenham Hotspur, where he will likely play in a double pivot alongside another new arrival, Sandro Tonali (£5.5m).
In a promising audition, the Portuguese scored in Spurs’ first summer friendly and took a few set plays.
As for Tottenham, they improved under Roberto De Zerbi last season, and you’d expect further improvement this time around.
Mathys Tel (£6.0m) has been in superb pre-season form, with two attacking returns, but there is of course the slight nagging worry about minutes, with De Zerbi reportedly eager to sign a new winger.
ANTON STACH
Is Anton Stach (£6.0m) perhaps going under the radar?
The Leeds United midfielder is currently selected in only 1.3% of squads, yet averaged 4.9 points per start in 2025/26.
Compared to every other £6.0m midfielder listed this year, that was the highest.
With corners and free-kicks in his locker, Stach scored five goals and supplied six assists in 29 matches.
His minutes per chance created was one of the best in his position, too:
Harry Wilson’s (£6.5m) arrival at Elland Road could potentially see him play a bit deeper, however.
Noah Okafor (£6.0m) is another option for Leeds in this price tier, but he has yet to feature in pre-season after an extended summer break following the World Cup.
KEVIN SCHADE
Kevin Schade (£6.0m) faces increased competition from Jaidon Anthony (£6.0m) this season.
He’s also been linked with a move away from the Gtech Community Stadium, so that’s a mooted transfer to monitor.
However, if Schade remains at Brentford, he’s got some potential, having produced 13 attacking returns (eight goals, five assists) in 35 matches.
The German winger will probably frustrate you at times – he underachieved on the expected goals (xG) front by -4.18 last season.
But in terms of goal threat, he’s a clear standout in this list, ranking joint-top among all midfielders for big chances in 2025/26:
JACK HINSHELWOOD/YANKUBA MINTEH
Brighton and Hove Albion pair Jack Hinshelwood and Yankuba Minteh are also worth a mention.
The Seagulls’ early fixtures are a mixed bag, but they do face newly-promoted Coventry City, as well as Leeds United and Sunderland, over the first six Gameweeks.
Hinshelwood’s excellent performances in the ‘10’ role in the second half of 2025/26 boosts his appeal.
He started all of Brighton’s last 13 matches, scoring three goals and supplying three assists.
He was the fifth-best Fantasy midfielder for xG (4.34) in that period, too.
As for Minteh, he is more of a creator (eight assists, 44 chances created) than goalscorer, but on his day, he is a real livewire.
Furthermore, his goal threat should improve if he’s deployed on the left flank, and there’s a decent chance he’ll at least start the season in that position, with Kaoru Mitoma’s (£6.0m) fitness still in question.
OTHERS
Emiliano Buendia (£6.0m) could profit from Johan Manzambi’s (£6.0m) knee injury, with no return date currently set for the Switzerland international.
Buendia could subsequently start the season in an advanced midfield role, potentially as Unai Emery’s No 10.
He’ll likely be on penalties, too, boosting his early appeal.
Minutes will likely become an issue further down the line, however.
Elsewhere, those same minutes concerns currently apply to Amad Diallo (£6.0m), Harvey Barnes (£6.0m) and Rio Ngumoha (£6.0m), although there is clear potential when on the pitch. For now, however, they are less desirable than others on this list.
Youri Tielemans (£6.0m) could be worth reassessing once he’s up to speed at Manchester United, but like at Aston Villa, a deeper role will likely blunt his appeal.
Ryan Gravenberch (£6.0m) chipped in with five goals and five assists in 2025/26 but overachieved his expected goal involvement (xGI) by +3.84. He banked 16 DefCon points, but, having averaged 4.2 points per start, his output was modest.
