FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

We’ve reached the quarter-final stage of our second FFS Cup of the season.

The draw for the last eight has now been made after the round of 16 took place in Double Gameweek 34, with a handful of ties being settled by the odd point or two.

FFS moderator Rotation’s Alter Ego edged out Lal Toofan (who is now ranked at 750 in the world) 50-48, with his choice of Son Heung-min as captain giving him a crucial extra three points over his rival.

Our highest-ranked remaining manager, HPCAMPBELL, saw off the challenge of aha_berg by 59 points to 44. HPCAMPBELL registered his tenth green arrow in a row in Gameweek 34 and now has an OR of 262.

Our one remaining FPL manager with a seven-digit rank bowed out of the competition. Vulken was defeated 35-36 by Hi Ho Silva Lining, who prevailed despite handing the armband to Shane Duffy and counting Troy Deeney – who was sent off against Arsenal – among his starting XI.

dark91 is now our lowest-ranked surviving manager, having recorded the highest score of the round in defeating Foot Fighter 61-39 – a 21-point haul from Lucas Moura helping dark91 to a seventh straight green arrow.

LOKOMOTIV is nicely positioned just outside the top 1k and he saw off I Member 49-45 in another close-run tie.

Another FFS site user sitting inside the top 5,000 exited the competition, however: Profa Benitez losing by the tightest of margins to Ibra-gum.

Roger150 and Skogen89 were the winners of our other two ties, defeating Evil Elvis and Insanity Later respectively.

The full sixth round results were as follows:

The draw for the quarter-finals has thrown up a mouth-watering clash between HPCAMPBELL and Rotation’s Alter Ego, while dark91 will have to pull off another giant-killing to see off LOKOMOTIV.

Definitely!!! I had to get Coady on free hit because couldn’t afford Boly!!! Own goal after 2 mins too!! Boly has 4 goals this season and Coady 4 own goals too!!

I'm on BB and could use some advice as I'm stuck:

    Lloris Foster
    Robertson Laporte Duffy Dunk Valery
Sterling (c) Mane Eriksen Son JWP
    Vardy Deeney Jimenez

    a) Deeney > Success (bit of a gamble, but Success wouldbe benched after DGW and leaves me money to do Dunk>TAA in GW36)
    b) Vardy + Deeney > Wilson + Rashford (-4) (again leaves money to do Duffy>TAA in GW36)
    c) Something else?

Thanks for the reply. This is doable, but doesn't leave me enough cash for upgrade to Liverpool defender next week.

What's the knock on Eriksen? Concern he doesn't start both games?

          Yep.
He has started all matches last week.
City fixture means he'll have to start. So, Brighton looks the one where he can be rested & that's putting me off.

This bench boost team looks absolutely filthy:

    Ryan
    Dunk | Doherty | Bednarek
    Son | Salah | Mane | Hazard | Fraser
    Aguero | Long

    Gunn | TAA | Peltier | King

        Only -8 taken:

        Boruc to Gunn
        Camarasa to Son
        Vardy to Long

I've decided King and Fraser are worth keeping with fixtures

Putting taa, Gunn and king on the bench over Ryan, dunk and long is cheating. Your actual bench is trash

But they play twice, it's either that or taking more hits. Which judging by recent weeks is clearly not worth it.

I could easily take more hits and get 15 double gameweekers, but the way the season is going I have more confidence in my single week players.
But at the same time would in theory start a doubler over a single, hence why I have set it out the way it is.

    1FT, 2.6 ITB. Planning on BB35.

    Lloris – Foster
    TAA – Laporte – Doherty – Duffy – Valery
    KDB – Son – Eriksen – Jota – Siggurdson
    Aguero – Jimenez – Deeney

    Guys,

Any help appreciated, please advise about best Deeney replacements considering potential future moves:

    DGW35 / BB activated / ITB £0.0 / OR 2,038

    Ryan / Foster
    Valery / Duffy / Robertson / Laporte / Doherty
    Pogba / Mane / Sterling / Son / Jota
    Aguero / Jimenez / Deeney*

    A) GW35 Deeney -> Gray (like for like replacement however i'm not sure he will play in both games in quick succession as would probably become bench fodder when Deeney comes back in GW37 which is not good considering GW38 Wolves fixture against Liverpool away)
GW36 Laporte -> TAA (TAA is a must considering his value just not sure about losing Laporte)

    B) GW35 Deeney -> Ings (very likely to play 60 minutes in 1st game and 30 minutes in the 2nd game, due to games in quick succession and recent injury history; very good fixtures till the end of the season and rotate very well with Wolves assets GW36-38)
GW36 Laporte -> TAA (TAA is a must considering his value just not sure about losing Laporte but not enough money released to consider any other move)

    C) GW35 Deeney -> Llorente (very likely to miss first game against City or to be an impact sub but i think he will start against Brighton and probable to return in that match; could become bench fodder between GW36-38 due to Kane potential return? or due to Spurs tactics which is not good considering GW38 Wolves fixture against Liverpool away)
GW36 Duffy -> TAA (TAA is a must considering his value would just give me benching headaches with Laporte / Doherty GW37 and Laporte / Valery GW38)

    Cheers

I'm not sure what to expect from City v Spurs this weekend.

Surely no way it can live up to the goal fest of last night?

Will City be after revenge, or will they be morally deflated?

Should we be expecting similar team sheets to last night, or is it too much to expect Aguero, Sterling, KdB, Laporte, Son, Eriksen, Trippier to all start again after such an intense match?

        Spurs fan here.

I can see us rotating a few places and getting thumped 3 or 4 nil (although obviously hope not).

City will be fully gunning for the league now and can still bring on Sane Mahrez etc whereas we have to fall back on er... KWP/Skipp

Well first of all congratulations for last night, not sure how old you are but probably the best night in Spurs history, since about '91, I'd have thought.
          You must be buzzing!

I'm concerned that the Spurs team on paper, if just one or two players are rested, and I think they'll need to be, is much weaker than City, as you say, even if Sane/Jesus come in, it's still a superior team on paper.

I'd like to captain Sterling, but I don't think he'll play twice with Sane around.

Gundogan isn't part of the front three though, he's more of an alternative to Fernandinho than KdB.

The front three could be from these six - Aguero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling, Mahrez, B.Silva.

Probably Stones or Otamendi in for Kompany, not sure if Mendy will be up to another 90 mins so maybe Delph or Zinchenko (if fit) at LB, Fernandinho back in from the start, that's all IMO.

Would you then expect them to rotate against United, or think Sterling - Aguero - B.Silva will start every week until the end now, with CL gone?

Agreed, really tricky game to call.

My bet is on City to get revenge. However, expecting a tighter affair.

        My thoughts on rotation:
City have squad depth to rotate and still field a world class XI. With the mid-week derby in mind, I think pep will consider fresh legs in a few positions and rest/ reduced minutes for some of last nights players. However, impossible to say who it will be.
Spurs lack the depth and will need to play full strength against City, then probably rotate for their home game with Brighton.

You do realise that Spurs were lucky to get away with a 1-goal defeat last night? Seems to have escaped notice that City won the game. 😕

They will beat Spurs again on Saturday.

In the first half it looked like City were going to score with every attack...and it was just wave after wave of attacks!

I agree on another night City could have scored 6, or 7.

Question is, will that crushing knockout at the end destroy their mental state, few of their players looked crushed at the end.

Or have Spurs woken an angry beast!?

I think I've seen someone on here say that you can't roll a transfer when using BB (or any chip). From what I can tell by the rules, that only applies to the WC and FH chips.

Just to be absolutely clear, I can do BB35, and have 2FT for GW36?

"Please note that when playing either a Wildcard or your Free Hit chip, any saved free transfers will be lost. You will be back to the usual 1 free transfer the following Gameweek."

Exactly, that's specifically for those two chips. Makes sense.

        1FT
        a) deeney to Llorente/Ings
        b) a + Eriksen to KDB for a hit

Are any of the mega hits worthwhile to get a quality BB? (-8)

        A) Eriksen, Duffy and Deeney to Bilva, Wilson and TAA.
        B) Same players to KDB, Long and TAA.
        C) Same players to KDB, Llorente and Cathcart*
(would do Doherty or Kola to TAA in 36)
