The dawning of a new year brings fresh opportunities, different perspectives and, of course, a brand new FPL wildcard to tempt us! In this spirit of renewal, Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to be re-opening our Community Trials in order to discover and celebrate upcoming writing talent.

Alongside the Pro PunditsScout Network and Scout Academy, the Trials are part of our continuing mission to support the wider world of FPL content creators and expand the extent of FFS’s own coverage.

Specifically, the Community Trials offer an opportunity for budding writers to submit an article with a view to getting a paid commission, raising their profile and generally furthering their editorial career.

We ran the inaugural version of this enterprise back in the Autumn and, after much deliberation of MANY articles, ultimately picked four winners: DomWatts23GreyheadKroos Kontrol and RubberDucky.

We handed each of these writers a chance to work alongside the Fantasy Football Scout editorial team on a commissioned article that will feature in the main editorial flow. The first of these was published last week, as mindfulness coach DomWatts23 revealed his thoughts on how to balance FPL with our mental health in an unpredictable season. You can READ IT HERE.

If you fancy an opportunity to follow in their footsteps then now is the time to get your thinking cap on and start sharing your ideas.

The Community Trials window will be open for four weeks, between today and Sunday, February 7. During this period, we will monitor everything submitted, provide a little feedback here and there and then reward the best and most interesting new writers with paid commissions to contribute to the main site.

We think this is a great opportunity to test out new ideas and angles, flex your creative muscles and get attention from our editorial teams. Even if you don’t get picked first time round, don’t worry, we’ll be running more trials throughout the year.

The second Community Trials are now officially open and run through to February 7, so start submitting using this link.

So how does WC18 work when navigating the next 2 game weeks? Surely you have to ignore quite a few of the DGW19 players? I'm thinking you'd mostly have to ignore West Ham, Leeds and Liverpool assets for example. Is it purely to get triple Man City? I guess I'm really asking why not just free hit GW18?

Atm my wc is set up with 1 from west ham and Leeds both on the bench then I have 3m itb to do Rashford to salah if I want for 19, ends Up with 13 dgw players or 14 with a hit

Will depends on news but possibly

          Martinez or Pope
          Stones Diaz McGuire holding
          Kdb Bruno Rashford saka
          Wilson Lacazette or Watkins

          Johnstone bamford coufal souceck

3-4m itb to bring in salah and/or ings

I am actually quite excited about it which probably means it will be a complete disaster in one way or another

I see. So yeah if Villa have a game or 2 postponed you'll have less DGW options. Also no real bench this week which could be an issue. Cheers for sharing! I'm currently thinking I'm free hitting but was curious what the WC could give me. I guess I've got to go all in on City and Utd to go the WC route.

Yeah, you could make it safer by getting Saïss or someone like that on the bench for insurance But it reduces the change to bb in 19

I’m really just trying to win my ml where many have played their FH already

I've got 11 for BGW (9 if no AVLvTOT), at least 12 DGW players (Son to Salah) and a nice team for gw20

      GW18
      Martinez
      AWB, Stones, Cancelo, Bellerin
      KDB, Bruno, Rashford, Son
      Bamford
      McCarthy, Wilson, Coufal, Soucek

      GW19
      McCarthy
      AWB, Stones, Cancelo, Coufal
      Salah, KDB, Bruno, Rashford, Soucek
      Bamford
      Martinez, Lacazette, Wilson, Mitchell

      GW20
      Martinez (bur)
Stones (wba), Cancelo (wba), AWB (SHU)
Salah (TOT), KDB (wba), Bruno (SHU), Rashford (SHU)
Bamford (new), Wilson (LEE), Lacazette (sou)
McCarthy (ARS), Coufal (cry), Soucek (cry), Mitchell (WHU)

thanks - got the front line for gw18 wrong - It's Wilson & Lacazette with Bamford on the bench
I'm not using FH or WC, just a few hits - have been building with focus on gw18 and 20 onwards
