JP looked big, fast and attacking (oc got his pen). what are the folks with Estupian and Mittoma doing for that 3rd striker? Triple Brighton seems too much? Currently Haaland, Watkins, and a non starter.

Can afford Wissa and Solanke, would need to store a free to get in Isak...

Well I have all 3 for now- but in a few weeks I will probably switch Mitoma for Diaby/Mbuemo when the fixtures turn

I've got triple Brighton. The plan is to shift them out around GW5, depending on how they get on. Probably not the best idea to start getting them in now.

Personally I don't like having a player that's never going to play (4.5 striker). I went Triple Brighton as they were at home to Luton and have good run. Had Mbeumo on my bench, but set up well for the next 2-3 game weeks. No need to jump on Isak. Wait till after City and Pool.

I agree. Maybe one non-active sub is okay but I've repeatedly warned having a bench with 2x4m defenders and a non-playing 4.5 mid/fwd is asking for trouble. We will see a fair bit of rotation of our top assets and will want decent 4.5 defenders or 5m mids ready to fill the voids.

If ur saving a transfer because it seems sensible, u might want to actually use it this week tbh. After GW3 , you probably want to make 2 or 3 transfers, so you want 2 FT for that. Sure you can save this one for next week, but if its a good move ur delaying, should probably do it this week.

    1. lilmessipran

Thinking the same actually.. I want to have 2 fts for gw4 hence want to use one for gw2.. with the uncertainty around Gabriel I might even make that

There's an IB after GW4 so going into that with 2 FTs could be very useful, given the usual issues that tend to crop up during those

    1) Maddison or Diaz (and transfer in Maddison following week)

    2) Alvarez (in 343) vs Mbeumo vs Eze vs Mitoma

No BB its a combination of error correction, new info, and getting ahead with Spurs/CHE

Errors in GW1 - no Pedro, no Salah,

        New info. / clarification
        - Maddison central to everything for attacking Spurs
        - CHE very solid with wingbacks double up Chilwell/James
        - Ars and Manu dont have great cs chances over next 4/5 fixtures

        - option to get double Liv attack for BOU; get Salah and Diaz looks the better 2nd option

        - can switch to 3 upfront; KDB injury allows Alvarez pick, then easier to change to Jackson for Luton gw 3 , or NEW forward GW4 onwards

What’s the squad you are ditching? We didn’t really learn all that much off one game week.

No Pedro - not a huge issue, only two more good fixtures

No Salah - again after Bournemouth fixtures aren’t perfect, not essential

Chelsea - we have no idea if the WB system is here long term

Fixtures - these have not changed

3 up front - not obvious this is necessary

Alvarez - most likely starts but still enough competition it’s not certain

Unless your original squad is really struggling I don’t see the need to WC. I promise you your WC squad would change in several positions after GW2 info.

          1. Make FPL Casual Again

Pedro - error; a 5.5 m no. 10 on pens in a hugely attacking BHA team; likely will retain as BHA can put up high xg against anyone; plus he's a huge enabler

Salah vs BOU; could have had 2 goals, 2 assists this GW; great captain option next GW; LIV could put up a huge score at home; could easily retain through "tougher" fixtures or switch out

CHE ; looked very solid, Caicedo will strengthen cs potential ;with Nkunku out wingbacks could be in for a while, or even in back four double CHE defence look a great option; plus fixtures scream CHE assets

Alvarez - could be a massive differential, started most games last season with KDB out; switching to 343 allows Alvarez, great xg numbers, much easier to switch to a 3rd forward than 352; Jackson/

            2 4.0m keepers rotated

This is 5 or 6 major changes from current team

I just took a -8, no way will I use a WC when it is better deployed and have more upside linked to doubles.

Issues I had were Beyer doesn't start, Botman away to City, KdB injured, Pedro Porro & Gabriel benched.

      KdB to Salah
      Pedro to Chilwell
Gabriel to Henry (needed 0.5, otherwise would have held him)

      1. Make FPL Casual Again
        • 7 Years

        Well, each to their own

I saw 5 or 6 changes, change in formation, correction of mistakes and a chance to get ahead of the template/pack based on new info

        1. Andy_Social
          • 13 Years

On that point, it was very noticeable last night that Chelsea and Liverpool are not finished.
When Chelsea start Caideco, will they go Back 3 or Back 4?
Liverpool looked a mess with their non-existent #6. When whoever it is arrives, Mac A will go back to #8 and Gakpo to #10.

In short, it's far too early to play a WC or make radical changes to your squad before the transfer dealing is done.

          1. Make FPL Casual Again
            • 7 Years

            You're wrong.

Not too early when you can see 5 or 6 clear and solid changes that can maximise returns and that have prior history

No set time to use a wc, entirely dependent on individual team, opportunitues etc.

When CHE get Caucedo it makes CHE full backs better regardless of formation; more CSs. Even in a 4, Poch likes his full backs to get forward.

We know already what Salah can do. Nearly had a massive haul vs CHE. And we know theres a lot more creativity in that side. Stand out captain next week

Diaz looked very good, should start vs BOU, maximise Liv then move for Maddison

Pedro is an enabler that cant be ignored

Maddison at 7.5m is hard to ignore

            353 formation makes more sense.

Ars defence not as solid and with fuxtures might only cs once or twice in next 5

          • 10 Years

Yip fully understand, the problem as I see it is that we all could probably make those sort of changes every week.

The wild card is a very strong chip and great to add extra players in a double game week etc., rather than better players in GW2 when we can't really take too much from a single game week.

            Not really...

            See abive

Current squad is ok, if Rash delivers a return as captain it'll be an ok score...

But thats not the point..which is that I can see 5 or 6 significant changes that can be made from this point on..based on what I've already posted

No, just owning him is enough of a differential at this stage. Think VC will stay on him for the considerable future though.

He looks to be in the doghouse to start the season, so I sold him already for Chilly. I want regular starters for that kind of money and not bench fodder who come on for a one point cameo.

Thoughts on Salah triple captain next week? I brought him in for differential captain to Haaland. If im set on him scoring might as well risk it?

Are we going to have many double game weeks, if so do you guys know when?

He looked on fire in the first half. Would have been 1 goal 1 assist if not for the marginal offside.

Home game... but then to think of it a Man city DBL gameweek with Haaland as Captain is much more secure lol

Wait for a double game week, a better fixture or option. Luton look woeful at the back and look like they will be the whipping boys. Unless you're going for a MOTM prize in a ML, its not worth it IMO.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Hall of Shame Committee met earlier this morning and agreed that the last placed participant at the end of each GW shall be appointed Dungeon-Master! The dungeon is quite full at the moment as we await the commencement of the Royal Commission. We have a Hall of Shame Tourney, tis basically an FPL Festivus for the Rest of Us, where mediocrity meets inadequacy. We have well over 600 participants vying to be the one that leaves the great Hall. We have nudists (like you), popular Mods, lurkers, two content creators, one from Hub and one from Scout, and an ex overall winner who has fallen on hard times rank-wise recently. There are tremendous imaginary prizes, including a weekly random prize. FYI.

Wolves are so random though, I will take it if this is the game where Podence dribbles past 4 defenders and scores a worldie then doesn't do anything for the rest of the season.

You might need to define long term in this forum. Agree likely first 2, but with Toney comes back, that could change. In 2 GW I'm doing Mitoma to Maddison.

Toney is irrelevant because he doesn't return until after GW19, the last point when we play our WC.

For me, long term means 8+ GWs; some might say 6.
