Got 1ft and 0.0m itb. Worried about Gabriel's gametime so probably need to get in some cover with the limited funds:

    Areola (Sanchez)
    Dias Cash Gabriel (Udogie* Botman*)
    Son Saka Maddi Foden Mbeumo
    Haaland Watkins (Semenyo)

    A) Botman --> Lascelles
    B) Udogie/Botman --> Guehi
    C) Save
    D) Something else?

Norman out is the obvious move lascelles offers good value but not a great fixture to start this week.

B looks good to me and I’d probably play Guehi over Udogie and Gab this week - medium term you might want to then downgrade one of your defenders to a cheaper £4m option but don’t think that’s essential for now

This is easy. Most people will think that Newcastle will beat Arsenal after their polar opposite displays last night. The fact is however, that in circumstances like this the unexpected is always to be expected. Also, Arsenal do rather well against Newcastle anyway so it's 1-2 for me.

Next few weeks who would you look to bring in/move on? I know Son is popular but he trolls me whenever I own him so settled on Maddison over Son all season outside of DGWs.

    Areola
    Trippier Cash Tsimikas
    Salah Saka Maddison Bowen Palmer
    Haaland Alvarez

Flekken Udogie Saliba Archer (£0.2m itb)

    Areola (Turner)

Pretty set on keeping Haaland and Darwin long term. So, after this weekend who would you rather own as the third striker?

    A) Alvarez
    B) Watkins

    1. Boberella
      • 9 Years

No reason why Watkins shouldn’t be a season keeper barring injury. To be honest, out of the 3 to go with haaland, Darwin would be 3rd choice for me.

    Burn - Cash - Tsimikas
    Salah - Son - Maddison - Bowen
    Haaland - Alvarez - Watkins

    Turner - Taylor - Kabore - McAtee

I caught up with the Brighton game yesterday and I don't think their change of shape really diminishes their attack (if it even continues). Mitoma & Adingra were notionally WBs but in possession it was more like:

      Webster Dunk Igor
      Baleba Dahoud
      Adingra Groß Lallana Mitoma
      ----- Ferguson ----

I think they're just doing it temporarily because of the LB situation and to gain a bit more control of the middle. I expect they will score (and concede). So I'll plump for Gabriel.

The stats favour Haaland at home to Bournemouth, but would you captain Salah away at Luton in the 4.30pm game on Sunday?

I always find the later the kickoff, the higher chance of a haul, but Salah knackered that theory for me, in his early kickoff.

It's weird but it being the main TV game gives me more confidence in Salah, but Man City have a good track record of decent wins against Bournemouth so could win by a greater margin.

Also, Luton are stronger at home.

Yeah they've not been hammered at home like they have a few times away. While it might be a small influencing factor, I don't think with the discrepancy in quality between Pool and Luton, I don't think it's something worth considering too much

                it's a fair observation.

my instinct was to captain Salah but the recent stats in the link above and goal scoring probabilities for Haaland indicate him.

I guess Salah is a decent differential Captain option again and Haaland will have the highest EO despite relatively few sales in recent weeks.

I don't think Luton are that much better at home tbh. Spurs should have been 2/3 goals up in the first 20 mins against them and played the second half with 10 men and Son who didn't seem fully fit. From what I read they did play very well against Wolves but that was during a period where Wolves were doing very poor (4 losses in 5 and high xGC). Their fixtures at home bar Spurs have been pretty easy all things considered (West Ham who are poor against sides that don't want the ball, Wolves as above, and Burnley) so I think it's fudged the stats a bit.

            good points.

and Luton played well away at Brighton for the first 20 mins and got a 2-2 draw at Forest.

But overall they are the weakest side in the division after Sheff Utd.

There's definitely a decision to make.

Man City home to Bournemouth for Haaland or Alvarez.

        Salah at Luton.

Villa at Forest brings Watkins into it.

    A. Trippier, Saka, Alvarez
    B. Guehi, Palmer, Haaland for -4

Don’t think I’m seriously considering a move to B yet having gone no Haaland on wildcard but interested in thoughts

Would start Mbeumo over Nketiah as he has a better fixture. Otherwise good to go

      I'd start Mbeumo at home

... over Bowen, Saka or Nkeitah but it's a roll of the dice play.

Bowen in for Nkeitah. Bowen played up top last night & Moyes reverted back to counter attacking ball which he does best. This could be hammers blueprint moving forward & if so Bowen could be in for some consistent scoring.

    Is Szoboszlai a viable option?

He's an option but think there are better choices for a mid price midfielder. Even at Liverpool I'd rather go with Jota

that's too sideways. Could be worse.

Newcastle have best run of fixtures on the long ticker up to Xmas. Gordon might also get some minutes up top while Isak is out.

Just after some thoughts I'm toying with the idea in taking a hit this week to get Nunez in but this would mean that I would have to most probably bench Madison .
My thoughts are it is more likely Son will get the returns against Chelsea and more than likely Nunez will get them St Luton with salah assisting anyone else any opinions on this .
    Many thanks

if you think son gets returns then you have to assume mads does to.

Any Halland triple caps this weekend or best waiting for double weeks in the new year? Looking at Sheff-U at home as the other target but it’s a Xmas tie & might be heavy rotation.

Personally I think pts will likely be spread out a bit. They were in their two wins against Bournemouth last season in which they scored 4 goals (both times)

    Non Haaland owner dilemma:

Thinking of transferring Bowen to Foden to cover Haaland (own Alvarez too) this GW. Will probably bring Bowen back next week. Means I'll have to bench Mitoma or Saka with this move though..

Worth it for 1 week to 'try' and cover the lack of Haaland?

    Areola
    Porro - Taylor - Cash
    Salah - Son - Saka - Palmer - Bown
    Watkins - Haaland (C)
