FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions – Gameweek 16

Welcome to the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions roundup after Gameweek 16, when the rumours of Erling Haaland’s (£14.0m) injury turned out to be true and many of those who had captained him were grateful that their vice-captain was either Son Heung-min (£9.5m) or Mohamed Salah (£13.1m).

As well as mini-leagues, we report on the latest news about FFS Cups, community Head-to-Head Leagues and Last Man Standing. Strikers Keepers Losers Weepers is covered in a separate series of articles.

FFSCOUT OPEN-TO-ALL LEAGUE

Joe Stait has taken over from Mike Arrigan on top of our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league (league code 5k0l6n), having previously led after Gameweek 12.

Prizes will be awarded to the top ten FFS-registered teams at the end of the season. See this article for full details.

With only one red arrow all season (back in Gameweek 6), Joe is now ranked third in the world.

FFSCOUT COMMUNITY MEMBERS LEAGUE

Matthew Allen is the new leader of our Fantasy Football Scout Members mini-league and has risen to 207th overall. He came 9,879th in 2021/22 and was 491st in our FFS Live Hall of Fame following its Gameweek 12 update.

This mini-league is open to anyone who has an FFS account, the league code being visible in the SCOUT LEAGUES widget on the signed-in FFS Home Page.

FFS OPEN CUP

Gameweek 16 brought the third round of the FFS Open Cup.

Following ulafhai (Olavi Oja)’s defeat by AnhBuLaHo, the highest-ranked manager through to round four is dankoottatep (3,801st).

FFS MEMBERS CUP

It was also round two of the FFS Members Cup.

Two former winners (rrcmc and Mohd Rodzi) won their matches and progressed to round three. However, another one – Scrumper – was beaten 43-56 by prbaker1980.

Following Wilbs810’s defeat by FDBISCUITS, the highest-ranked manager remaining is KISEKLUND (3,372nd) who came 6,124th in 2017/18.

These are both old-school cups run by Fantasy Football Scout and should not be confused with the League Cups listed on FPL’s Leagues & Cups page.

HEAD-TO-HEAD COMMUNITY MINI-LEAGUES

Cak Juris leads for a third successive week and sixth time this season in League 1 of MIR’s FFS Head-to-Head Leagues. 36 points have been collected from a possible 48.

The joint top scorers in the Head-to-Head Leagues with 42 points each are now Mark Cahill and Roger Butler from League 7 along with three managers from League 8 and another twelve from League 9.

LAST MAN STANDING

The safety score for Gameweek 16 in TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing competition (LMS, league code x9free) was 39 after hits, with 55 teams to be removed.

It means that 605 are going through to Gameweek 17. The LMS leaderboard shows the current live safety score, leaders and teams in danger of being eliminated. New entrants must have passed all the previous safety scores after hits.

Tommy Clark and J S were the joint top scorers of the Gameweek. Both had double-digit hauls from Son and promoted vice-captain Salah, while J S also had a third haul from Jordan Pickford (£4.4m) and Tommy’s score included a useful contribution from auto-sub Dominic Solanke (£6.6m). J S has six top 10k finishes, ranking 672nd in our FFS Live Hall of Fame following its Gameweek 12 update.

MODS & CONS

Meanwhile, Kiran Parmar (FPL Brains) remains ahead for a fifth consecutive week and seventh time this season in the FFScout Mods & Cons mini-league. This team is 5,802nd globally.

**2500 POINTS ANY SEASON** League Update
Code zzpxga (still open for qualifiers)

FC Kabalababa managed by Krisztian Toth is the new leader. Lack of a playing goalkeeper didn’t prevent Krisztian from rising to the top this week.

Manager Of The Week is Mark Hughes whose Sparky team clocked up 79 points this week. To prove that it only takes a few players to get you a good score, 68 of Mark’s points were gathered by just five players.

The FFS Live Hall of Fame (which, unlike the FFS Career Hall of Fame, can only be viewed by Premium Members) was updated again this morning (Wednesday 13th December) and is now based on results up to and including Gameweek 16.

50,913 managers participating in the Fantasy Football Scout and Fantasy Football Scout Members mini-leagues are now ranked in it.

The new top ten, with FFS Career Hall of Fame positions in brackets, is:
    1(5) Mark Hurst.
    2(1) Finn Sollie.
    3(2) Fábio Borges
    4(3) Jon Ballantyne.
    5(16) Frank Pedersen.
    6(9) Markku Ojala.
    7(14) Tom Dollimore.
    8(15) Jan Kępski.
    9(56) Paul Quilter.
    10(26) John Walsh.

Since the previous update (after Gameweek 12), Frank Pedersen has moved up four places, Markku Ojala has returned to the top ten and Paul Quilter (who has had five top 5k finishes) is a new entry, but Rob Mayes and John Canning have dropped out.

All ten are now inside the overall top 650k, but Mark Hurst (4,853rd) and Paul Quilter (3,517th) are the only ones currently in the top 10k.

The following leaders of community competitions and mini-leagues featured in the article are also ranked in the top thousand of the updated FFS Live Hall of Fame: Matthew Allen 321st, Cak Juris 25th, J S 395th, Cameron Wong 717th and Christian Larisch 123rd.
