There's a serious lack of quality defensive options this year, so it's not like you're losing anybody decent by bringing in James. Most people are getting rid of the likes of Cash or Gabriel so it's hardly a loss is it? The fixture's are there, he's not expensive and has a high ceiling. Will he reach that ceiling? Probably not, but at 5.4m it's a low risk anyway.

Agreed re defensive options. Trippier seems a must buy for CS, bonus and attacking returns. Despite saying that, I haven’t owned him yet this season…

Currently sat on James, Porro, Tsimikas, Saliba, fodder.

5.4 for a defender is not cheep imo, but depends what you do with your funds elsewhere.

It's a complete waste of two transfers though, one to get him, one to sell him when he gets injured. Does he really have a high ceiling though, how far can you go back to justify that? I would just go cheap in defence, I'm happy with Trippier Gabriel Tsimikas with Taylor Branthwaite as backup.
