    Depending on tonight's game will depend on whether I take a hit and Saka gets the chop or not (as a West Ham fan I hope he performs miserably, but as an FPL owner I hope we win 4-3 and Saka gets a hattrick of assists whilst Gabriel gets a hattrick, combined with Bowen scoring four 😀 lol!) Anyways here's the plan 1FT & 0.5ITB;

    Dubravka
    Trippier, Porro, Gabriel
Salah (vc), Saka, Bowen, Gordon, Palmer
    Haaland (c), Watkins

    Kelleher, Gusto, Semenyo, Doughty

Plan is if Haaland is missing again I cover myself with Salah vice-captaincy and Gusto as first sub. If Saka doesn't perform this even against WHU then I will probably do Trippier & Saka > Trent & Richarlison (-4) leaving me 1.1M in the bank.

    Thoughts/concerns/suggestions?

Are you going to keep Salah while he's away? Trippier to TAA is a good move. Not sure about Saka as Gunners have a nice run of fixtures coming up.

I would then potentially lose Salah the week (GW21) when he leaves, so I'd have Salah & Trent vs that poor Newcastle. Agreed he does but he's joint TENTH for goals scored amongst midfielders, I expect/want/demand more from a 9M player to be honest. Everyone on here absolutely roasts Sterling, calls him awful, he has the same amount of goals as Saka and two less assists and is playing for a mid-table side, Saka is playing for "title contenders". Not to mention Saka's also played an hour more of football.

        Salah could then become anyone (obviously), or I bench him for GW21 giving me a squad of;

        Dubravka (MCI)
Trent (bou), Porro (CRY), Gabriel (mun), Doughty (bur), Gusto (FUL)
Bowen (shu), Richarlison (mun), Palmer (FUL)
        Haaland (new), Watkins (eve)

Kelleher, Gordon (mci), Semenyo (LIV), Salah*

By benching him for GW21 I can then see all THREE group stage fixtures so I will know where Egypt place, if knocked out, he's back for GW22, if they qualify first he will play on 29th Jan, if they qualify 2nd he will play on 28th Jan, which are both before the GW22 deadline, therefore I'll know if he's coming home (keep) even if he misses GW22 or if he's going through (will then miss GW23 so a definite sell for those two weeks). If they qualify third they will potentially play on 27th of January; which if eliminated might even see him feature in GW22 (although I doubt it, but it is a "big" fixture vs Chelsea and he doesn't play until 31st)

Also your bench is a bit dodgy for the Dec/Jan heavy rotation months

My entire bench are all starters though? I'm confident in them and happy to take a hit if required.

    3. Eze Really?

Any move away from Saka will be deemed as sideways but I can agree with your intent. I think TAA has move to the top of the wanted list and must be thought of as a mid rather than defender.
Watch it all go wrong (smile)

        I just think if I said who scores more;

        Trippier + Saka
        or
        Trent + Richarlison

Most are voting for the latter, IMO (at least over the next three weeks). Bad enough having Dubravka in goal, should've just stayed on Areola (Kelleher drop meant I couldn't have Dubravka & Areola).

        1. Eze Really?

I understood you but moving away from Saka is probably the opposite of the majority; ignoring the fact it is a double move.

Yup. Only just hit my highest rank of the season: 2.8m. Been languishing in 4.5m region for months.

I’d say 20+ is what you’d hope for; anything high 20s and above is a major success. As poster says below: DGWs all the way.

Let's say on DGW and all benchers were on double and blank, 4x4 (16) is my minimum expectation, hope for 1-2 doing something then it could be 20 the threshold. Experience has been however using it at wrong time 😛

1.1M ITB, 2FT. What to do? Don't want to get rid of Son & Salah just yet.

    Raya
    Gabriel | Alexander-Arnold | Porro
    Saka | Salah | Son (v) | Palmer
    Watkins (C) | Solanke | Cunha

Then no for me, only because you might want to lose both Salah & Son or one of + a striker in GW21 and not take a hit. However it would also depend on how well they play against us (WHU) tonight. If they shut us out hard, I think we're better offensively than Fulham so would potentially be worth the points and I'd then bench Trippier because Liverpool might massacre them...

Is the City squad too small? I remember when we could name a full 2nd team for City who would win the league in their own right. Now its hard to do so and the pep rotation is minimal, which is likely why injuries keep racking up

Definitely missing some more dependable options to rotate with or that can change games. Gundogan and Cancelo gone, KDB and Doku injured, and then the likes of Phillips, Nunez and Kovacic not exactly having the impact that I'm sure was hoped for

Anyone hanging on to one of Salah or Son and investing in a third forward for GW21-23/24?

If sold, not sure can afford getting both of them back alongside Haaland and the other players I had in my team prior to his injury. Salah has risen £0.8m and Son £0.6m since purchase, so I'll need an estimated £0.5m extra to get both back if sold.

If you’re gonna ship out Salah after Newcastle maybe hold Haaland. That’s what I’m thinking ands play 352. I’m also looking at Moreno with the Digne injury

Another suggestion that the City/Brentford DGW might take place in January (GW21). Think it has to be announced tomorrow or it likely isn't happening

      Ben makes bold announcements regularly

True, but this appearing in that specific slot (after Newcastle and before West Ham in January) on City's ticketing page is curious. If nothing appears tomorrow then I'll assume nothing is happening

Depends on Son and Arsenal cleanie I think

Yes but you'll need Arsenal to avoid keeping a cleanie

Tempted to but could save the transfer. Foden/Bowen would be replacements

        I'm v tempted.

But it means a hit in gw21 when I need to lose son and salah.

        Thinking gordon to foden

And then son and salah to richi and bowen - 4

But not sure if I jisy keep gordon. I'd have to start him v pool....

Exactly. I think it's worth it, even for a hit.

I want Bowen for BHA and maybe Hwang to Foden as he needs to go anyway and EVE won't be easy.

Think worth it for City mid, especially if DGW21 happens

Probably. Thought about carrying him on the bench for the next 3 but with Haaland still out I'll be on 352 a bit longer so need to maximise returns from that spot

Guys is Cash expected to start?

After a rest and Villas poor showing against United I’m tempted to start him.

I could easily transfer him out but something is telling me to keep AGAIN

    1. Sprinterdude
      • 4 Years

Start him it's Burnley home and he's rested could be a good differential if he starts

      He owes holders a haul

      1. The Mentaculus
        • 4 Years

Feeling "owed" because you own a player who's not in the first choice 11 anymore is some dangerous logic

        1. Sprinterdude
          • 4 Years
          1 year, 11 months ago

If you've held him this long start him Vs Burnley

Or you could copy and play the same team and do as everyone else and never have a differential or take a risk

          1. The Mentaculus
            • 4 Years

Who said anything about copying? Selling for Moreno, for example, would fulfil your brief

Rest? He was suspended v Man Utd. And he's only played 240mins in the last 7 games.

Been terrible and 3 awful fixtures coming up, it's the right choice. Look at getting him back in GW23 possibly when that run is out of the way and they should be better rested

        I got him at 6.9m. -78.5% hmmm...may get rid.

Romero being out for a number of weeks will severely dent Porro's cs potential

I’m on WC. How does a team like this sound?

    Raya, Turner
    TAA, Gabriel, Porro, Gusto, Trusty
    Salah, Foden, Bowen, Richi, Saka
    Alvarez, Solanke, Watkins

Then sell Salah for someone after the Newcastle game, to free up funds for Alvarez / Watkins to Haaland when he’s back. Only real question is what to do once Salah is back to get him back in.

    Thoughts?

You may want a cheap 8th attacker like garnacho as enabler and to make benching choices easier
