do people on here ever wonder if their assessment of players is completely skewed by the fact that they are seeing them only FPL terms which is for the most part pretty reductive? i hear so much this guys trash etc take darwin for example. misses loads. undeniable but ask klopp how useful he is and he'd write you a book. he was profligagte as usual last night but instrumental in so much of liverpools play. i highly doubt pochetino is happy to lose jackson.

For someone who doesnt own Jackson and watches him as a neutral, I can honestly say he isnt very good (saying it politely).
Add up the unneccesary YC all the time and he is more of a liability then a help.
Darwin at least is dangerous, although he isnt a very good finisher as well.
But I still dont figured out where Jackson actually good in is...

As a fan who watches almost every game, I can also say he has been largely underwhelming

He has shown glimpses of what he's capable of, particularly his power and strength to hold onto and turn/run at defenses with the ball but his end product and positioning/timing has fallen short of expectations.

I believe there is a player there that may reach there potential eventually but he's going to need at least this season before we fully establish if he will be a flop in the Premier League or not.

          Would you punt on Nkunku

Think I want to offload Alvarez even if Haaland isn't back, so considering Nkunku, Raul or reckless punt on Toney

Coincidentally, I’ve already punted on Nkunku for the Palace game when I knew he was destined to start because of the suspensions to Sterling/Palmer.

Some would say that wasn’t the best choice from an FPL perspective but the guy is class. Mbappe like in build and top scorer in the Bundesliga last year despite 2 months injured (Bundesliga player of the year before that in a league with Haaland and Lewandowski).

He’s been out for a while so will need time but I hope he will flourish, especially in Jackson’s absence.

  2. Son + Salah: recent precedents for price changes
    Zenith UK

    Posting this a few times for the next day or two in hope it helps a few people;

    FWIW to those discussing Salah/Son's potential price drops, for those hoping they drop a lot if you sell them here's some stats;

Neto (WOL) lost 87% of his teams selected by (TSB) and dropped 0.2M between GW9 & GW20.
Mbeumo (BRE) lost 77% of his TSB and dropped 0.2M between GW14 & GW20
Haaland (MCI) lost 47% of his TSB and dropped 0.1M between GW16 & GW20
Isak (NEW) lost 45% of his TSB and dropped 0.1M between GW8 & GW13
Pope (NEW) lost 50% of his TSB and dropped 0.1M between GW14 & GW20

I would really not expect huge drops in price. Especially with the red flags applied.

This is brilliant, thanks. Still going to sell but mainly on the basis I’ve got no bench and there are a number of cheap high scoring mids rather than a case made on depreciation of these players

It's absolutely not happening. They did the same with KDB a few seasons ago. There was a total outcry and even the FPL statistics mention they couldn't grasp what was happening and suggested manual intervention. If active player dropped son and Salah they would be about 7 mil each by time they got back. Like I keep saying I'd be surprised if they dropped more than .1

Got Salah at 12.6, so last night's drop didn't affect me - still get 12.9 if I sell him now. Expect him to drop a 2nd time before the next GW, so I am resigned to getting 12.8 for him (even if I wait until after gw21 deadline)

If I get Haaland in, I would have 8.0m to replace Salah, so not worried about most of the price rises

Going to be waiting until gw21 deadline to decide and see who becomes available

An extra 0.1m drop seems a small price for the wait

You say they'll manipulate it but as it stands (I don't know how many of these were prior to last night) he has been transferred out 790,856 since GW20 started... That's a lot in terms of sheer numbers, but only 13.5% of his TSB as it stands

As per original comment; "Haaland (MCI) lost 47% of his TSB and dropped 0.1M between GW16 & GW20"

              To go into more depth;

              Haaland's journey looks like this;

              GW1 TSB: 7,200,159 @ 14.0M
GW5 TSB: 9,070,132 @ 14.1M (+0.1M increase / ~26% TSB increase / +313,077 NT; [so approx 1.5M teams made or transfers not included in that NT figure in those GWs because his TSB increased by 1,869,973])
GW7 TSB; 9,241,818 @ 14.1M (Highest TSB he had all season)
GW9 TSB; 8,880,074 @ 14.0M (-0.1M decrease / he had -236,407 NT in GW8 and -195,755 NT in GW9 so he dropped 4% from his peak in TSB terms but lost value.
              GW16 TSB; 8,812,520 @ 14.0M
              GW17 TSB; 7,231,415 @ 14.0M (no change after -1,477,506 NT / a drop of ~18%)
GW19 TSB; 6,260,409 @ 13.9M (NOTE: MCI did not have a GW18 so stats are probably slightly skewed here! [He probably dropped from the mass transfers out in GW17/GW18 as NT is only -231,633 from GW17 but his TSB is nearly 1,000,000 different]. TSB dropped by ~13%)
              GW20 TSB; 5,595,831 @ 13.9M (~10% TSB drop / -666,400 NT)

They will drop in price over the next few days while we still own them but by the time next game week comes around and the sensible people who waited sell them they won't drop anymore.

As things stand, if I sold Salah and Son now I would get a total of 0.7m less than their current purchase prices. So I think that I need to plan to have up to 1m available itb and/or by selling a third player to be able to afford to buy them both again once they are available.

when they were transferred out plays a big part imo.
Eg, what if Haaland reached his threshold early morning and price drop is scheduled to happen next day, and got transferred by the masses - which i think was the case on deadline day when he dropped -...wouldn't all those extra transfers count for nothing?

Can you do the same math on Kelleher too?

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years
        1 year, 11 months ago

Will do, please note that this is based on "teams selected by" (TSB) I'm not sure of the difference between that and ownership % for example, GW1 his TSB was 25,754 but his GW2 TSB was 27,412 an increase of 1,658 but his "net transfers" (NT) were -1,043.

        I'll do multiple weeks for context;

GW1 [25,754 TSB] to GW8 [24,964 TSB] - (Side note: he started GW9 at 3.9M not GW8) Kelleher dropped 0.1M and that was from a TSB decrease of 0.3% - however please also note, this could be slightly skewed from new teams being made bringing him in as his NT figure was negative every week from GW1 to GW8 by a total of 5,585 which is actually a ~21% drop given his starting TSB was 25,754.

GW9 - GW15 he saw an increase of TSB going from 26,397 (GW9 start figure) to 227,923 (GW15 start figure). It's worth noting that there were 116,023 net transfers in GW14 which led to him starting GW15 at 4.0 (a 0.1M increase from a 763% increase in TSB)

        GW16 he was 4.0M with 245,247 TSB
GW17 he was 3.9M with 166,073 TSB (NT of -74,295) but a TSB drop of ~33%
        GW18 he was 3.8M with 151,980 TSB (NT of - 23,077) but a TSB drop of ~9%
GW19, GW20 he was still 3.8M with NT totalling 12,595 but a TSB drop of ~9% again between GW18 TSB and GW20 TSB.
Between GW20 starting and GW20 finishing/GW21 starting he has dropped to 3.7M and so far has been "transferred out" 6,508 times (this might not be the same statistic as TSB, just for context sake)

Honest question: why isn’t the price algorithm more transparent? Price drops, rises and protections are central to FPL yet the powers at be pretends it isn’t by not providing clarity. It’s mind boggling.

Unfortunately I can't answer this. You would think that with all the content creators and all of the forums we have as a community we could get together and lobby, sign a petition or something to put FPL Towers under some kind of pressure, but alas.

They are both very likely to miss 3 gameweeks. My prediction for both:

      0.2mil drop by gw21
      0.1mil following gw
      0.1m following gameweek.

Even if they both make their respective finals I expect they will stop dropping.

I would put money on both dropping by 0.4mil in total. If there was a bookie that would take that bet...

I think you're right - but I also reckon they're gonna keep the same approach (albeit potentially lower quality), so the chances will still come. I think Richarlison will play a similar role to Bowen's at WHU - i.e., everything will flow through and to him.

Best two Salah and Son replacements?

    A) Foden
    B) Jota
    C) Bowen
    D) Richarlison
    E) Palmer

Currenly leaning towards C and D. Palmer can come in for Gordon later.

All options would free up funds to do Nunez or Alvarez to Haaland.

Im having the same debate but thinking Darwin. Only thing that could change my mind is if i wanted Foden, KDB, and Haaland. Then i'd like Alvarez gone, but not making that decision for another GW or 2. (I already have Foden.)

I don't think a prem game has ever been called off due to wind and nothing in rule book saying it will be if it reaches a certain level. Plus the grounds in the prem are unlikely to be affected too much, due to the dome like shape. Thank god

The consideration would be travel to the stadium and public safety.

It's not likely but not impossible either.

The City of London stadium is also quite exposed with those walkways and split levels etc.

But the forecast was for it to be easing off this evening.

Not at all. I finished 1.2k last season and I think I was around 150k at the mid point. All about lady luck now though, need a lot of consistency. I think I had something like 17/19 green arrows and pretty much consistent captain returns during that period, with a couple of big differentials paying off, including betting against Haaland as (c) a few times.

Not so good this season, I just dropped out of the 1m mark this GW with some abysmal management. Benched Palmer for Jesus, transferred in Silva instead of Foden to be different and then moved the armband from Salah to Silva, all 10 mins before deadline. Think it was about a 40+ point swing. Sickening. I am now aiming for 250k.

      GL with the season!

He could drop 0.3 and my point still stands.

I won’t be touching my team until day before deadline at the earliest. Not worried about a few 0.1s

Bit of future planning, would you rather have Trent or Watkins for the rest of the season?

      Watkins

With Haaland back and you would want Salah & Son back as well, it would be difficult to fit Trent in

For me at least, TAA limits me to 4-4-2 formation and that is definitely not happening this year.

Watkins. Trent is very hard to fit into a Salah, Son, Haaland team.

My wife’s train has just been stopped as trees have fallen on to tracks at Clapham Junction. Guess the whole city is getting battered.

Salah at -44.2% after only dropping in price last night.. And people really think he's only going to drop 0.2 the whole time he is away at the AFCON 😀

Think people are forgetting how much Son + Salah have risen in price, surely this has an effect. Salah and Son are 0.8/0.9 above their starting prices.. Haaland is 0.1 under his starting price and injured so may explain the slow drop in price.

I need protection from imbeciles making transfers before a GW has ended and 11 days before the next deadline.

There's over 10 million players so beyond your control.

Even engaged manager's on here are doing it for Bowen before he plays tonight and in the cup games etc.

There'll be some unforeseen issue and impacts.

You're ignoring that there's clearly some interference from fpl regarding price changes

Who is everyone who has sold him bringing in for them do you think? Jota, Richarlison, Douglas Luiz? Many have Bowen and Saka already Id wager. Frustrating...

I think you need a plan for no Haaland.

I think a Haaland with a yellow flag is inviting pain, but thats just me

If Haaland is not fit i could bring anyone.I expect him to be fit.
