Got to bench one of these next week, don’t know which one, assuming Bowen is fully fit?

Rich (BRE) Saka (nfo) Palmer (liv) Bowen (BOU) Watkins (NEW) Solanke (whu)

I think that, depending upon your OR and due to the EO for him, if you play Watkins then each point he gets makes little difference to your rank but if you don't and he gets a decent return then the negative impact is significant.

If your player A scores more than player B then your rank goes up, but if he scores less then it goes down.
If player A has a far greater EO than player B or vice versa then your rank goes up or down a lot, but if they have similar EOs then it only goes up or down a little.
You can play it safe by choosing the player with the greater EO (the defensive or shield choice) or take a risk, which might have greater positive or negative consequences, by choosing the other one (the attacking or sword choice).

Bowen given he may not be ready / 100%. Would absolutely not bench Watkins, yes Villa haven't been great of late but Kamara and Tielemans are both back, and I think people have forgotten what they did to Newcastle at Villa Park last season. They'll also surely want revenge for their humiliation at SJP from the first game this season

Yeah Andy has been imagining his team like for like for a while apparently. Someone said he was waiting on his stream for FPL Salah to reveal if he was bringing in Foden or Richarlison and as soon as he put it on X Andy checked his X and did exactly the same.

Why do they reveal their teams before the deadline? Is it because they want the masses to copy them so that it protects their rank?

it really is. we have similar fantasy pundits in america for fantasy sports, and the ones who consistently spit out vanilla AI driven "analysis" like this always wind up copying each other and are universally mocked. granted our fantasy formats are different than fpl, but the idea remains the same. they use "optimizers" which are AI driven algorithims that suggest weekly rankings and daily fantasy lineups. inevitably they are all identical, but the content creators love them because it will keep them slightly above average (and never flat out wrong), so they keep their jobs/credibility. but its boring and you'll never win with them...... you just wont lose

                yeah this is entirely it.

the culture of twitter/youtubers/FFS everything is just about risk aversion and being able to boast you have 'X top 10K/top 50K finishes'. I like the ones (like Lateriser) who are more open about actually taking risks.

Did I see Everton and Forest (not at all surprised) are about to be charged on FFP? Everton fans might want to rein those protests in a bit. Marinakis will probably get round it by selling half the squad to Olympiacos and loaning them back free of charge.

I'm going to sell Watkins for Haaland too. Enables a Salah/Son/Saka midfield if I swap Richy to Garnacho. Can't do it if I keep Watkins. I'll never captain him again so I'm not too bothered.

Villa are not so hot away. They have quite a few away matches next 6. The home encounters are against fairly tricky opposition. I am considering Watkins as the one to move out for Haaland and keeping Pedro and Darwin especially if Liverpool get the double in 25.

His form has dipped no doubts. But not like there are many FPL forwards in good FPL form. Even Solanke has dropped a bit but his rise was short in comparison to Watkins. Be interesting to see what a rest will do to form and how Toney does.

So West Ham are fairly optimistic about Bowen playing against Sheff Utd. He seems to be a guy who is supposedly injured quite badly then comes back way before we all think he will. How inconsiderate of him not to let us know! He's off my Christmas card list.

The swelling on his ankle hadn't gone down enough before deadline to make a call on how bad the injury is. Could be a slight sprain, back for GW22, could be torn ligaments, out for the season, probably somewhere in between. 'Bowen ankle probably not too bad' isn't great clickbait though 😉
