Could end up selling Hwang this week for Son....rest of midfield is Foden, Saka, Palmer and Barkley on the bench.

I will too (on WC) if he gets some mins on Wed. If not I'll buy him for the City game - no fixture puts me off Mo. FH29 so blank no issue either

Honestly think of he was going to be fit enough on Weds he'd have been on the bench yesterday. It's not a very long period of time between yday and weds. Wait and see though

I mean, I'm flexible on it. Obviously would have preferred his return to coincide with my WC but I have to book a transfer anyway with WC27/FH29 so if not I'll just keep Foden v MUN then sell for Salah the next week

I was on wildcard last week. Had decided on Van Hecke, Senesi and Gabriel in defence for budget and fixtures. Then had a pool of six for the remaining two spots: Kilman, Ait Nouri, Maguire, Bradley, Branthwaite and Kiwior. All led by financial savings to spend more up front. Anyway, Opted for Kilman and Maguire, benching the latter. I still think long term these aren't bad decisions but it's painful to see three attacking returns disappear and no gains in any mini-leagues.

Yes that's how it looks on the web version, but on the app it shows completely random figures like £58 one gw, £120, and so on.

Have folks forgotten about the Hojlund injury last week when making early transfers?

    - no midweek game
    - most transferred player in
    - injured in training and ruled out for 2-3 weeks in the presser

Why are folks still chasing price rises rather than making transfers with all available information?

    1. Baines on Toast...
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Very fair point. For me though sometimes I take the risk less because of price changes and more because I want to just set my team and forget about it for the rest of the week. I often make better decisions when I'm decisive at the end of the prior GW rather than having taken on too much information later in the week.

To be honest, I don't really think early transfers are always bad idea. I'd say it's situation dependant. If a player is a doubt, then it would make perfect sense to wait for more information. But if eg. future moves depend on that 0.1m and the player is 100% healthy, then I don't see a problem really with early transfer. Of course you can have a bad luck with an injury, but in the course of the season the benefit of money ITB should outweigh the potential hits imho, but some numerical approach to check that would be needed!

Selling a player against a poor ManUtd side riddled with injuries for a player that hasn't had a single shot in his last 120 mins since returning that's up against a side with a new manager bounce that didn't concede a shot on target at the weekend is obvious?

  23. Sgt Frank Drebin

Really feel like the game would be much better without bonus points based on BPS. My two problems are that:

    1. Only 3 players can get bonus points in a game. Player X could have a great game, end up on 40 bps but still get 0 bonus points, because there were 3 others that played a phenomenal game.

    2. Goals and assists are awarded twice. Mostly players that scored/assisted get bonus points, players who had a great game but failed to get any return rarely get bonus, unless it's a low scoring game.

In my view bonus points result in FPL having have extra randomness/variance, since the variance from quite a volatile outcome (eg. converting xG) is further increased with awarding these players more points.

I played fantasy AFCON recently, and think that a bonus point system based on rewarding points independently on individual actions is much better. So, for example extra points awarded for every n duels won, shots on target, key passes etc. Alternatively, I would entirely remove goals, assists and clean sheets from BPS since there are points already awarded for these.

Imho it would help to award some points to players that had good games but didn't necessarily get any points from goals and assists. It would also reward better having players good at football in your team.

    Thoughts?

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      Mostly agree.

But I think they should just award bonus points based on hitting BPS thresholds.

      1 BP for 20+
      2 BP for 30+
      3 BP for 40+

      Something like that.

      1. Sgt Frank Drebin

There will be moaning no matter what the system is, but I wouldn't be against less/no BAPS being awarded for actions that FPL points are already awarded for (and the same for reductions, especially yellow cards)

I'm in the same position and am edging towards Gordon because I'd bench this GW, anyway and Gordon has only one away return all season. Either way I'd just play Palmer every week he gas a string of blue fixtures which is only interrupted by Arsenal in GW29 which will be postponed if they progress in the Cup this week.

Kai Havertz is one of the outstanding players on recent form based on mins/XGI. Think Arsenal's post-winter break tweak has got him in the box more - even when not the designated striker. Could score very well until the rest of the season.

yeah i mean if he's fit and ready to go then looks a nice transfer.

However, it's wait and see on that. Plus if he is ready to go, Liverpool have had a scare by giving him too many minutes straight away so I wonder if they might be cautious with him for Forest.

Early thoughts with 1ft and 4.9itb. Sensible moves would be to save ft right? Waiting for more injury news on Pau and Porro. Hoping both are fit

    Saliba Pau* Porro*
    Saka Foden Richarlison Douglas
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    Hold for now 100%.

However, assuming they are ok then it does look like rolling is a good choice for you. Gives you options for getting in the doubles or with 29 in mind depending on your chip plan.

2FT's is always a powerful play to have, especially when hits are flying around
