I want to play Onana and De Ligt. I think there's an equal chance either team gets a clean sheet. I probably will go for them and regret it later.

Hard to tell how price rises/falls will play out this year, when everyone is saving up transfers for mini WCs... But yes, I think I would do it.

I would think he starts. Worth giving one more week. If he blanks against Wolves he would then drop in price so you'd have a decision to make that evening if you're willing to make an early transfer.

He had to play left wing so Enzo could stink out the centre. Awful tactic. If Maresco saw that and starts Neto left with Nkunku centre, Kunks will be golden, but we can't know until that 2nd game.

Enzo was terrible yesterday, big mistake from Maresco allowing him to be club captain (especially with the racist chanting).

We are playing Serviette... I mean Servette... on Thursday.

Would look to that game to for a pointer on expected minutes.

Wouldn't love seeing him starting that game if I were an owner, but do expect he is at least involved against Wolves in some form.

Defence is: Hendo Gvardiol Martinez Quansah Barco and the Saints guy 4.0

You win - In the 18th minute Solanke scores a goal after a wonderful Porro assist. After 10 minutes, he makes an awful foul in a desperate attempt to stop a counter attack and gets himself ejected. In the 90th minute, Porro scores a Puskas worthy volley from outside the box and seals the victory for the Spurs!

Generally, I think you need to have a big problem to use a transfer this week. 90% of teams should just roll. Keep Quansah, keep Johnson, keep Barco, keep Minteh. More info and the banked transfer is key this time of year.

I'd love to request data from fpl to see how many minus points I've taken since 2006-2007. I'd say it would be the highest out of the entire FF Scout member base. It's tough!

Enzo was taking up some advanced positions yesterday and made quite few runs into the City’s box getting close to action.

Is he a cheap midfield enabler we have all missed, whilst focusing on ESR’s and Mentos’s of this world?

No. Enzo was poor yesterday. Don't think he plays in the hole for much longer. Chelsea will be tinkering with their line-up imo.

Maresca still doesn't know what his starting eleven should be. Next week it could be Neto on the left, Nkunku in the hole, and Palmer on the right. Or Nkunku on the left, Palmer in the hole, and Neto on the right. Hard to say.

We are also linked with Felix and Osimhen. Can't see Enzo lasting in that role.

Enzo is the worst-performing of our midfield three at the moment.

Caicedo has been better than him for most of last season, and Lavia has looked on it in preseason & this last game.

      I wouldn't go there.

      1. RichardNixon
        • 9 Years

There's a growing argument that under Maresca's system, and with our current squad, Enzo should be benched. He doesn't seem to have the right attributes for the system compared to our other midfielders. Square peg in a round hole type of thing. But he is a 100m player and was named captain for the City game so who knows.

possible but also I'd rather spend my transfers doing a Son to Saka, or Diaz to Eze based on fixtures. I've wasted so many transfers over the years trying to get the perfect efficiency lowering all my bench for the long run. you rarely make it back.

in the old days when your team value was 117m at the end of the season lots of trading made more sense to get ridiculous team value to make an even more insane squad. Hardly anyone can remember how it was. 0.3 rises regularly every gameweek.

Anyone considering straight swaps this week in attack?

The move I'm thinking about is Gordon > Eze. I know it's early to judge and the red card changed the game, but Eze just looks the better option. More involved, more selfish, all of Palace's attack goes through him.

As a non-owner I feel quite lucky to not be hurt by him. Instinct is to correct that change quickly and start rolling transfers after.

Not really. Intention was to give Gordon 3 GWs minimum and don't feel he's had a fair go yet (not just the RC, but still coming back to full fitness). Like Newcastle's next two fixtures for attack; the subsequent block of 3 away games + City is where I'll have to think about Gordon/Isak. I do have Mateta (benched this week) for the West Ham game though.

First transfer thoughts are Son, who I intended as a 2 GW placeholder, to Saka/Foden in GW3. Pretty happy with the rest of my lot for now

we didn't know Eze's 60m release clause expires on Friday night until after deadline. There was enough doubt that after the Bobb injury that City could buy Eze, not as a direct replacement but just because of the value in that transfer. Palace won't even entertain bids under 80m now.

The better GW1 fixture, the potential uncertainty over Eze being at Palace.

I am asking myself - if Gordon got 12 points, would I still want to do the move? And off the back of the Palace display, yes I think I would.

I'm thinking of Saka > Foden as well for instance but I'll probably wait on that one.

I'm probably going to swallow my pride and make the Gordon to Eze move.

It's unlikely Gordon will achieve the same numbers as last season with a fit Harvey Barnes eating into his minutes.

As already stated, Eze is guaranteed for 90 mins most games and has pens/set pieces on his side too. He's probably the better pick, but if I'm being honest, the opening fixture swayed me to some extent.

Yep same. Gordon is a good pick too but I just think Eze is a better one. I think I just do the move and then over the next few weeks it'll pay off. Get myself 1 extra point off Gordon in GW1 and sayonara.

If I had unlimited transfers, I'd still only make one change in attack I think. Nkunku > Mitoma. But I don't think it's worth a transfer. Likewise, I prefer Eze to Gordon, but would argue it isn't worth a transfer either?

What’s the expectation on how Spurs line up once Richarlison is back to full fitness? Does he play with Son and Solanke, or compete with Solanke for the centre forward spot with Kulu/Johnson playing the right side?

I think if Spurs could convince Richarlison to go to Saudi they would. Expecting him to be benched all season if others are injury free.

      He'll likely compete with Solanke.

Backup at CF and LW, getting some minutes off the bench and then starting the cup games or in EPL fixture congestion

ange will pick whoever is in form, i don think it will be the case of 'he's a marquee sigining he has to play.' if richarlison comes on and hauls dom could easily drop out of the team. solanke is there to provide competition which could spur richarlison on. its defo one to watch

I think it's quite likely Barco will start this week. The boss probably didn't want to debut him on an away game. So I've got a choice between Barco and Martinez as Gvardiol and Robinson are in. Haaland(c) and relax.

Barco is benched for me this week anyway. Playing TAA, Porro, Robinson.

It's a tired old refrain on here amongst the regulars, but this season especially patience will be rewarded:
With the new free transfer rules, if you can hold off making any changes for three weeks then a -8 would let you make five changes without using the wildcard.

Perhaps, but then you could be priced out of key moves by waiting several weeks, especially with an early IB like we have this season.

    TAA, Rico Lewis, Robinson
    Son, Jota, Doku, Szoboszlai

I'll be honest with you.. I don't like it. Isn't Sels expected to lose his spot to Miguel when fit? Same deal with Steele / Verbruggen. Lewis & Doku looks more like one week pre-WC punts to me rather than WC picks. Don't like the Cash pick either

I pretty much went against the grain on all those players mentioned time after time in the influencer articles, and feel generally rewarded for sticking to my guns. That said, I'm not top in any of my mini-leagues so I haven't gained much. Wish I hadn't benched Wood!

I personally think Villa will go for more experience in the UCL which he would be more likely to play league games. But with Villa's focus on the UCL will you want him?

I read the original post about Dan. A lot of people don't like him apparently. I like him less than others. People are quick to strongly dislike individuals. If he has got a chip in his shoulder he will learn, he's just young. We all think we are amazing until we grow up and realise our mediocrity and minimal impact on the world.
