Basically yes. XG as a predictor is historically poor yet people think it’s the gospel. It’s always been the way with stats. Not to say stats are useless but it must be combined with eye test predominately and team form/ squad injuries etc

Its a measurement of the quality of chances a player gets at scoring. Where it fails is not taking into consideration the ability/form of the player taking the shot.

A bit of an exaggeration, decent I would say (at the game). Good near post shot well saved in the first half.

I felt that City didn't play anywhere near their potential and on another day could have been kicking themselves.

People now praising themselves for capping the best player in the game. A player who had the summer off and like Salah is gresh and firing. After this break things will even out and points per price will come into effect. Take your points but I suspect capping Haaland every week is not the way.

    1. ZeBestee
      • 11 Years
      1 year, 3 months ago

Obviously it will come a point in the season when capping him may be not the best decision, but as we speak, he is fit and firing so captaining him is an easy decision. If you can remember his first season, he was perma captain for like 10's of gameweeks.

      1. HarveyKendallBall
        • 2 Years

I’m not saying it’s wrong. I’ve capped him the last 2 weeks but there’s a lot of mids out there that can improve the overall score when you spread the cash. I’m still keeping for a bit longer myself

        1. ZeBestee
          • 11 Years

Set the team up for 3 weeks with the view of not making a transfer & wildcarding in 4, I’ve had a better start then anticipated & sit at 12k, getting cold feet because the team has performed.

Would you stick to the plan, be aggressive and set up for the next 3 weeks or keep riding the team that’s started well?

There’s a few things I want to tweak but it’s hard to let go of players who have returned.

        This is now

        Raya
        Trent Gabriel Robinson
        Saka Jota Gordon ESR
        Haaland Isak Wood
        Irrelevant bench

        Minor tweaking it to…..

        Raya
        Trent Robertson Robinson
        Salah Saka ESR Rogers
        Haaland Pedro Wood

.7 in the bank, playing irrelevant bench

It’s basically fixing the bench so all 3 are playing and adding Salah/losing double Arsenal defence for the next 2.

Think your first team is still viable. See how Gordon/Isak do tomorrow before making the decision. With the 3 transfers, you can double up Salah/Jota or Robbo/TAA with Salah without the WC.

I watched Rogers today and i was unimpressed although its just 1 gw and he is cheap. Esr also gets early subs every other gws. Otherwise the second team.is good.

Honestly think double Liverpool defence will beat double Arsenal defence in the next two.

Salah will obviously do well but I could also turn Saka into Palmer for two weeks then flip it back in time for Leicester.

        It’s a pure fixture play.

Could also jump on Watkins instead of Palmer/Saka for their fixs but I haven’t seen his highlights yet so not sure if that’s worth it yet.

Watkins has been poor. Missed 1v1 for a Rogers assist and another early sub with his replacement getting a goal straight away after being introduced. Won't want to have Watkins in the near future imo.

That’s good to hear because I’d like to keep Wood, after Anfield his fixs are nice again and with JWP going there, can see him finding his head a few times.

Wood is an enabler for a Salah/Haaland team and he is getting the points so would rather have him than Watkins.

This is what’s making me second guess it, let’s be honest, everyone has most the same big players, it’s the smaller ones who’s giving me a decent start, him being one of them, feels stupid to let go, they didn’t sign a striker which makes it feel even more stupid.

Yes I think Wolves will improve a lot.
They also bought a very talented central midfielder from Fluminense
I rate them higher than Ipswich

Cash is a Shaw-lite imo. Always on the verge of an injury.

I think Pep starts Walker over Lewis in the next game after the break.
Walker will be working with the team while Lewis will be away with England
He also wants him ready for gw5 vs Arsenal.
Rodri probably gonna start too for the same reason so I can’t see Lewis starting

He's definitely a risk, no doubt

I think harder games like vs arsenal walker plays. But easier ones lewis. But lewis can play in midfield also..he seems versatile.
Pep is less likely to give him a cameo if not starting so just have a decent sub

Its quite incredible. Outside of haaland c dont think my team has done well. But jump rank from 3.7m to 1.1m. just the lewls and robinson assist. But have only jota and palmer tmrw so suspect if salah, isak, son, taa perform rank will drop back to 3m

Yeah many are in the same boat. Haaland 'saving' the gwz although he is widely owned and captained anyway

Exactly! You are to much relaying on Haaland. As long as he scores a lot you are doing fine, but when he blanks you will be in trouble.

No Haaland owners, what are you plans for next GWs?

I have a no Haaland team and as painful it is to watch Haaland I still think a no Haaland teams can match Haaland teams. It will just take 1 blank from Haaland and those teams will get a low score. Now iternational games are starting and the CL. Games 2x in the week. He wont keep up this scoring run.

I got 33p so far, this GW with OR at 1.3 mil. My big guns are playing tomorrow, 5 to go with Salah (C). Its not bad at all.

U might survive gw 5 and 6 but gw4 and then from gw7 he seems essential. Man city dont even have a proper back up striker. As long as he doesn't get injured expect haaland to play many mins

But I have survived 1-3 just fine. I wont be stubborn and can use WC if I have to. However after GW4 chamions league starts. You just said that City doesnt have a second striker. It means Haalands minutes will be managed. Probably Foden will play sa a false 9 sometimes.

I Wildcarded him out this week… hoping Salah, Trent, (P)almer do the business tomorrow to make it worth it. Also benched Davis and Pedro for Smith-Rowe and Rogers, mind, so I’m not hopeful.

Did not get to see any of the Villa or Fulham games.

How big of worries now are ESR and Rogers?

Look any good or a problem in a couple GW's?

Rogers is 5m. Not worth moving if your 8th attacker unless no bigger fish to try. At least with these fixture.

ESR on a short leash. There are other performing midfielders at that price.

I have them both too. I am keeping bit more due to.fixtures. Rogers at 5 i would still keep regardless. Can bench him if required

    Henderson
    Gabriel, Pedro Porro, Robinson
    B.Fernandes, Diogo J., Gordon, Rogers
    Haaland, Isak, Havertz

    Sels; Amad, Hall, Barco.

    1 FT 1.5 ITB

Gabriel -> TAA the obvious move here for the next two GWs? Planning to WC in 6.

Yeah TAA is the number 1 target for me as well. Very high xga as well hence a no brainer imo. Will wait though until the deadline as IB injuries might change things.
