I know there will be tinkering by WCers but I find it baffling there are over 0.5m transfers today, on the first Tuesday of a 2 week IB.

Always found WCing in an international break problematic. Price changes are always unpredictable, and too many "are they or aren't they" international injuries cause difficult decisions based on flimsy information.

apparently wildcard transfers dont count for those transfers anymore someone on here told me a few days ago. Was thinking of using WC to gain a few mil

A few million? That's never been possible. When they did count at best you were looking at maybe 0.4-0.8 increase in TV and most of that would be 0.1 gains on a player so not bankable

    Bus team till game recommences.

    Henderson

    Salah, Gordon, Jota, Rogers
    Haaland, Isak, Welbz,

    4m, ESR, Porro, Hall,

    0.4

I've just hit the wildcard and it says 'wildcard pending' - what does that mean, I'm confused as its still showing my old team.
    Thanks in advance

It says pending until you actually make some transfers then it's active and can't be cancelled

Ok thanks - I had already made my transfers before activating the wildcard, I was used to the old way of activating the wild card when you confirmed you wanted to make the transfers I suppose it gives people the chance of cancelling the wildcard before you hit the 'activate' button.

I think might the case of Havertz and not Saka. Salah and Haaland fixtures after 6 are pretty decent and in 6 City away to Newcastle and Pool away to Wolves aren't that bad

Most likely I'll be going 343 with a 4.5 playing midfielder as fodder. I think i prefer Areola to Verbruggen but it's pretty close. Perhaps the defence is too risky? Maybe downgrade Robbo or TAA and get better cover for Lewis? (FYI - I'm getting Lewis this week on my WC so I fully expect Walker to start in his place!)

    Raya (Fab)
    Robbo Lewis Robinson (Faes Kosta)
    Saka Palmer ESR Mbeumo Jota
    Haaland Pedro (Wissa)

The plan is to get Salah eventually.
    1FT. 0.2 ITB.

I'm likely going to Roll FT.

But I could also do Saka/Palmer to Rogers/Salah for a -4 but also Captain Salah.

    What would you do?

    1. Uns95
      • 7 Years

Saka & Palmer will outscore Salah & Rogers. You need to be captaining Salah most weeks for that to begin to make sense and i dont see why you would given Haaland form & fixtures...

I’ve gone that route (Saka, Salah & Haaland) too with Trent & Robbo, people with loud social media voices saying they’ll sell Saka for Salah then reverse it for GW6, sure, I mean they are making the swap now because they think Salah will score a lot of points so they’ll sell him when he’s bang in form because of fixs, easy as that…..

If anyone is on a WC now they should be spending the 2 weeks to find a way to like a team with all 3 in IMO because once you have Salah, you won’t be selling him unless he turns into Antony.

    Activated WC:

      Stick or wc?

      Sels
      TAA - Robinson - Munoz
      Eze - Jota - Salah - Rogers
      Haaland - Isak - Pedro

          Unrelated to your comment but….

The only reason why people are talking up WC6 is so they can bring in Arsenal assets BUT you don’t have to sell Arsenal assets in WC4, Spurs is still a good fix, 5 goals scored at that ground in the last 2 fixs, 1CS out of the 2 games.

2CS in 2 games v City last year.

The narratives are ‘tough fixs’ like it was pre season & the defence/attack has brought in points.

I own both Haaland and Salah and started the season okay but I don’t think long-term it’s sustainable. Just did it because they both had the summer off and were fresh and roaring to go

As soon as one or both of them blank, you’ll have an awful week. They won’t keep hauling like they are each week, it will stop at some point. Haaland looks on it but I like to bet against him when I can

          Salah + Watkins > Haaland + 6.5 mid in GW7

I only had Haaland, started well & just brought Salah in, not sure that it’s not sustainable, the moves I’ve made to get him in have been

            Gabriel to Robertson
            Gordon to Rogers
            ESR to Semenyo
            Jota to Salah
            Isak to J Pedro

I’m not sure that the left hand side is significantly stronger than the right, if it is at all.

          2. Count of Monte Hristo
            • 12 Years

Higher probability of having awful weeks without Haaland + Salah than not. It’s the reduced reliability of the others doing well to cover both of them that will always be difficult.

            1. _Freddo
              • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I’ve got 6 premiums across the team (all the positions) so really I need 5 players to pick up points that’s aren’t reliable.

Those 5 right now are Wood (who’s been brilliant) Pedro, Semenyo, Rogers & Robinson/Rico Lewis, I fancy all of those (apart from Rogers) to tick along.

With FTs banked, if it don’t work, it can be fixed quickly, think it’s worth going all in now that you can bank multiple FTs.

According to FootMob, Semenyo had 5 shots against Everton (2 on target) & created 1 chance, from the right wing.

Briefly caught some of the wire tonight where they said his numbers are skewed because he started the season up front & now he’s on the right, clearly that’s not true by those numbers.

    Question

If FPL added the option of giving you 0.1mn extra cash if you forgo your free transfer in any given week would you use it?

    1. Kiwivillan
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      Nope. Worth more than that

      1. MikeS

Well it would be equivalent for example to buying a player who was rising 2-3 times in one week (giving you only 0.1mn after selling if say bought Diaz and he rose 3 times before you sold after he flops next game week and Jota performs).

If I had 3 or 4 FT and needed 0.1 to afford a specific move then I'd consider it for sure. Can't see myself ever having 3 or 4 FT though.

Fair enough - I read the OP as saying you could only get the 0.1 if you made no transfer that week and took the cash in lieu of the FT carrying over.

I can't envisage a scenario that it'd ever be worth it. Free transfers are far more valuable than an extra .1

Oh I know, and Brighton have had harder games too.

Considering Newcastle are playing their worst right now and Brighton their best, I would have to hope they get it together. Howe is attack minded.

With Wilson potentially coming back, we may actually see Pedro have more minutes on the pitch.

So a 4 premium wildcard is ridiculous, right? You can only captain one.

    Areola Fabianski
    Konate Lewis Robinson Faes Greaves
    Salah Palmer Saka ESR Rogers
    Haaland Pedro 4.5

    0.3 itb

Palmer and Saka are cheap enough that their replacements won't really generate too much improvements elsewhere

So it's Salah or Haaland. Who to choose?
