WC. Is going without Salah too dangerous? If so, how best to slot him in?

    Raya - Valdi

    Gabriel (gw9/10 to Guardiol/Robbo) - Lewis - Konaté - Mazraoui - Greaves
    Saka - Diaz - Maddison - Mbuemo - Rogers
Haaland - Jackson (possibly Solanke after 2gws) - DCL

    Cheers!

I don't think it's dangerous, which GW will you captain him in the next 5-6?

    1M itb 1FT.

    Raya (Valdi)
    TAA Porro Robinson (Hall* Barco*)
    Saka Palmer Mbeumo ESR (Winks)
    Haaland DCL Pedro

Squad should be good enough to avoid WC? Transfer plans is either Porro -> Gabriel or change Hall to someone like Aina

Yeah that looks fine to me. Porro > Gabriel and bring in a Forest defender over the next couple weeks IMO.

A in isolation and over time... but depends on what the extra funds in B can achieve

Extra funds could allow the likes of Porro to Gabriel, 4.5 striker to Joao Pedro and Vardy (don’t ask haha) to Solanke.

Losing Salah though just feels weird but Diaz is easily keeping up with him and more currently. The money saved would be huge but I just can’t bring myself to do it

I was in a similar situation (not with several Spurs, but no Arsenal, Chelsea or Mbuemo), and did. Not convinced I needed to, but stuck with my plan

Seems like the opinion now is that Salah no longer justify his price, and that Diaz and others can replace him moving forward.

I’m uncertain, what do you think?

    1. Maddamotha

Not sure. If Salah scored 2 yesterday and Diaz blanked no one would do it. Could backfire.

That’s is the opinion until Salah hauls and Diaz blanks.

Players “value” & “essentialness”, changes from game to game, sometimes even during a single game (Palmer - yesterday).

      Welcome to the fpl community.

Well that is also literally just FPL

You want players who score points and don't want players who don't score points.

It isn't irrational or stupid to buy someone cheaper scoring more points than an expensive player who isn't.

Obviously it's hard, and sort of the game, to try to figure out when to own the player scoring points and when to drop them, but it isn't irrational to favour whoever is in a purple patch

I'm okay with removing Salah from the team.

For the short term I'd prioritise Saka and triple Arsenal, and with Luis Diaz currently matching Salah at 5m cheaper, that money goes a long way to providing the team with balance and strength elsewhere.

2 good fixtures then ARS AVL MCI then very good again, he still can be fielded in but would be more comfortable with rotated players for at least ARS and MCI

Yeah I think he looks good enough to hold/bench through those 2 fixtures (more than happy to play him at Villa) so I'm also looking at rotations rather than the (apparently) more common buy for 6-7 then sell for ESR

Decent I'd have Saka over Salah arguably you've already got two good Liverpool assets Salah isn't getting any younger Diaz looks hungry and with the extra Dosh you could maybe have a Solanke or upgrade elsewhere

Everyone saying or thinking Diaz is going to be rotated is not realising that Salah will be he's the oldest attacker they have, he can't play every game and minute without complete burn out he looks like a rest could do him so good already

      1. The Iceman
        • 3 Years
        1 year, 2 months ago

Salah is nailed, on penalties and doesn’t have AFCON to contend with this year, so he’s well worth his price IMO. Liverpool have loads of attackers which favour the left side but not so much the right.

I couldn't make decision last night and missed many price rises. I feel the need for Arsenal DF and, probably, Mbeumo.

Which of these options do you prefer?
    A : Salah + Lewis/Robinson + Jebbison >> Mbeumo + Gabriel + Havertz
    B : Palmer + Lewis/Robinson + Jebbison >> Mbeumo + Gabriel + Wood
C : Robertson >> Gabriel ... ignore Mbeumo and keep attacking unit

    Flekken - 4.0

Just C for me , will give more options in GW7 if you maybe want Foden or take a chance on Doku/Savio/Grealish for City's run , Havertz will break the structure and you will be stuck between Havertz/Watkins/Isak/Solanke instead

Cheers, Skalla. Many thanks for the reminder of the structure and long-term plan.

This is my team for a -4. Good to go or wildcard to make adjustments?

    Raya | Valdimarsson
    Alexander-Arnold | Gabriel | Konsa | Robinson | Johnson
    Salah | Saka (C) | Rogers | Semenyo | Dibling
    Haaland (v) | Wood | João Pedro

Wolves really controlled that first half vs Villa.

Surprised me to see Villa are actually tied 1st in the league. Very leaky at the back and always seem to wait till the 2nd half to come alive

Villa basically wait until Duran comes on and then start playing 🙂

    Saka Diaz Mbuemo Semenyo Rogers
    Haaland Jackson Wood

I like it and think Semenyo will be great over next two but there’s some benching dillemas

Think I prefer Saliba/Stewart over Konsa/Wood and takes the bench dilemma away

that removes the option of a 3-4-3 though, and Forest have pretty good fixtures coming up...

but double Arsenal defence sounds juicy

Nice, similar to mine 😛 apart from goal keeper, Greaves and Wood

Thoughts on this WC? I’m 0.1 short but maybe can catch another rise before the deadline.

    Raya Fabianski
    Gabriel Colwill Moreno Greaves VDB
    Salah Diaz Mbuemo Rogers Dibling
    Haaland Havertz Jackson

Thanks, feels a bit bad going without Saka and Semenyo but I hope Salah gets rest mid week and comes back to big scores

Think I would rather Saka than Salah and upgrade mid and def to score more points.

Thats the dilemma. Essentially comes down to:

            A) Sanchez, TAA, Saka +0.8 to update elsewhere (maybe Rogers to Semenyo? Next two fixtures are mint)
            B) Raya, Moreno, Salah

3 FT - Salah, Pedro & De Ven -> Diaz, Jackson & TAA? Too Knee-jerky?

can you get to Watkins instead of Jackson?

Watkins, Diaz & Gabriel is the other option.

Maybe its just me but I thoughht Lopotegi not applauding when the pic of the young fan who passed away came up on the screen was really strange. Ive never seen that before.
