Current WC Team (defence is weak, but keeping faith with Salah for now so need to save the pennies). Who to bench from the front 8?

    Sanchez (Valdimarsson)
Gabriel, Davis, Milenkovic (Faes, Van Den Berg)
    Saka, Salah, Mbeumo, ESR, Rogers
    Haaland, Wood, DCL

    Thanks in advance

Sanchez to Flekken saves 0.4 and scores more I believe.
Rogers to Dibling saves 0.7 and bench headache.
Upgrade defence. Get Lewis. VdBerg to Greaves.

I think I'll go with Havertz over Saliba in my no Raya draft.

A lot of money ITB but happy with the cheap midfielders and rotation.

Leaving Salah out is difficult, especially with Wolves. His mins are the best and Pool attack is fluid at the moment.

However I cannot fit in both Diaz and Salah since Mbuemo is a must have IMO as a talisman in a non-Europe team.

I’ve been advocating everyone sell him as I want captaining him to be as differential as possible.

That said on wildcard I appreciate legitimately why it’s a difficult choice (in part why I’m not wildcarding).

I think Salah materially outscore Diaz and these ideas of rotation risk aren’t based on anything but a hopeful guess.

If you can build a squad with Salah you are happy with I absolutely think you can sacrifice Diaz.

We don't know Slot well enough to be certain but it seems that Salah is still the 90min guy and rest are most of the time in the 60/30 gang. Also the odd rest is possible but more likely downside of Diaz is the less xMins when starting.

So far the mins dif has not materialized really but long term that is quite significant if true.

I think both are great options in their own right, but I’d always sacrifice Diaz now and downgrade Salah later if needed than sacrifice Salah now.

    Haaland - Solanke - Haavertz

    B)
    Sanchez
    Gabriel - Lewis/4.5m - Maz
    Salah - Rogers - ESR - Saka

    WC team:
    Sanchez, Fab
    TAA, Gab, Myko, Greaves, ????
    Saka, Diaz, Mbeumo, Rogers, Semenyo
    Haaland, Jackson, ????

    A) VDB, Havertz - will switch Hav to Solanke in 2 weeks and use the change to upgrade Faes to Lewis or similar.

    B) Lewis, Solanke - hopefully won't need to make any changes for a while then.

The more I look at it the more I think it's not really much of a headache, the cheap defenders I have have decent fixtures and I don't see any other areas I'll want to change for while. But best laid plans and all that - I guess things do go wrong.
You not think Havertz is a better option than Solanke and Jackson with two very nice home fixtures?

Probably in the short term yes
Although I don’t like planning transfers when on a WC
          Injuries could scupper it all

If you WC last week and choose Son Raya Pedro and planned transfers
You would be screwed fixing those now instead

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

      A. Go for it. The defense will hold for a little while and if you need funds you downgrade Jackson or Diaz.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

This is my thinking. He who dares. I just keep coming back to Havertz with those two home games.

    4. Genji3lade
      • 7 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

I like Lewis as the upside is so high despite the risk.

I am sticking with Raya in goal currently which rules out Havertz but still think he is a good pick.

I would start the 7 players listed, and have Wood or DCL in the third striker spot. DCL better if benching as great long term fixtures. Also minutely cheaper.

Then could swap Jackson to Solanke in GW8 after his two home fixtures (Bri H, Nfo H)

Think having Havertz & Solanke impacts flexibility in midfield which will be needed in a couple of weeks when Diaz & Semenyo fixtures turn bad.

      1. Kay317
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 6 Years

I don't like DCL or Wood to be honest. I'm most likely to be rotating Rogers and Semenyo rather than benching a striker I reckon.
I don't want to lose Lewis to be honest but I want Havertz more. Lewis may not even play given the other options Pep has.
This decision is going to go to the wire I think. Cheers.

I wonder if FFS community is big enough to manipulate price change for 4m GK.

    For example
those who plan to WC in GW4 choose Begovic (0.2% ownership)
those who plan to WC in GW4 choose Lumley (0.3% ownership)

come that GW everyone will sell that respective GK hoping for price drop.

PS: Remember to play WC chip after the final price change of the GW.
