    Sels
    Trent Gabriel Porro
    Saka Mbeumo Eze Rogers
    Haaland Welbeck Solanke

Slicker Smith Rowe Davis Harwood Bellis

    1.5m in the bank
    3 free transfers
    No Wildcard played yet

Any glaring issues? I don't want to roll again, but I am not sure I need a transfer either.
Also, should I consider starting Smith Rowe instead of Eze or Rogers?

See saka situation. Saka> palmer if he isnt playing. Or welbeck to wood, raul, solanke etc

Good looking team - do you have funds for Solanke + Eze > Raul + Son?

Yes, it would leave me with 0.2m in the bank. Interesting thought, though there are injury concerns with Son, I'll wait and see if any news come up.

palmer would be the priority, but its tough to get there. would roll

no to starting esr over those 2. maybe welbeck isn't passed fit. could do welbeck to wood i guess

Yeah, one of Saka/Haaland/Trent would have to go for Palmer. Might consider it later, not interested right now.
Keeping an eye on Welbeck, thanks.

    3 FTs, 0.4m ITB & desperately trying to switch to a 3-4-3

    Sanchez
    TAA - Porro - Lewis - Keane
    Salah - Mbuemo - Johnson
    Haaland - Havertz - Welbeck

    Fabianski - Konsa - Onana - Winks

    A) Onana + Porro > McNeil + VdV
    B) Onana + Konsa > McNeil + DEF fodder
    C) Havertz + Onana + TAA > Raul + Palmer + DEF fodder

I wouldn't sell Trent, so definitely not C.
Porro in my opinion doesn't justify his price, he hasn't been as attacking lately and clean sheets have been an unknown word to Spurs. I am looking to sell him, too, but I will do it after he plays Ipswich in GW 11. Not sure VdV is the best replacement, though, I like Ait Nouri / Milenkovic more.

What to do with Saka? I bought in Johnson and Solanke last week and considering Son. Triple spurs attack seems overkill though, cp, AVL and IPS aren't terrible fixtures though. Other option would be going for a Man City mid. Thoughts? Other options?

You don't say how many FTs you have. I can go straight Saka to Palmer, but Son's next 3 fixtures are better. I'm considering Son until the gw12 sweet-spot for Palmer.

As far as triple Spurs goes; who knows if it's overkill? Individual player form vs opposition. Is there someone better than Son?

For UCL. Stick with Pulisic 16 point captain, or twist to Haaland?

Same question with Gyökeres (18 points).
Looking on Haaland's form, I'm sticking with Victor

    Raya
    Taa Gabriel Davis (Martinez 4.0)
    Saka Palmer Rogers Mbeumo (ESR)
    Haaland Delap Dcl
    2 Ft, 0 in bank

    A) Do nothing and save 3 fts next week
    B) Raya to Sels to free up cash for Esr to Garnacho and 4.0 to RAN next week/dcl to cunha
    C) DCL to Wissa/Raul/Larsen

I have been thinking about it and if you get Son Saka is not an essential transfer for Son in GW 12 because Son in the best captain GW 13 Fulham at home.

just playing around with things, and if Liverpool defence can hold up in their next 2 matches, cant see past this set up being the best long term:

    Alisson (4)
    TAA (4.8) Gabriel (4.4) Konate/VVD (4.2) (depending on your TV/SV)
    Palmer (7) Son (6) Saka (6.5) Rogers (4.5)
    Havertz (5.4) Isak (5.6) Solanke (5.2)

= pushing 65 points per GW if you can get captaincy average around 7.4

with captaincy you at least have 1 of Palmer/Son/Saka at home every GW. so far their average from 12 home matches is 112/12 = 9.33. even bettering perma-Salah who has had one of the best starts to a fpl season in its history. of course cant get every home fixture but you get the idea

Rogers has broke this years' game. He's not Palmer but definitely Gordon at this point, will likely end up with 165-175 points. unless gametime catches up with him, and i imagine he'll be called up the next england squad. But just looks too good atm to doubt his capability of getting a 170-ish end season total.

    any thoughts?

looks good, nice option but just stating the obvious playing for leicester. i dont like fpl how it is nowadays but if you're given the chance to have an XI from exclusively the top 6-ish sides, long term its the play imo as fixtures aren't so much a concern.

I agree...but... that's a bus team, and i bet you wouldn't play this game without making a transfer. Where is the excitement in that way of playing?

      1. F4L
        • 10 Years

true. at least a set up like this escapes the monotony of perma Haaland/salah captain, or at least the feeling you need to captain these 2 because how much you are paying for them.

i get the boring aspect, from a personal perspective i really want to stop taking hits so a set and forget-ish approach has some appeal. injuries always crop up so FTs would be used.

truth is i know most in the fpl community say timing is a skill but its one of the more luck based aspect of fpl imo. if you identify good picks, sticking with them for long run often works out to be the best. you aren't maximising your points potential, but guaranteeing a top 50k-ish rank at the expense of ending in the malaise of 100k-500k, or thereabouts now there are many more serious players about. (take this team down to 63.5 ppgw, which is very much on the lower end) and you're getting 63.5 x 38 + 100 extra from DGWs + 60 extra from chips and thats 2573 total score. great total score any season, bar that 1 outlier covid season

and there's a small aspect of saying excitement still comes from sticking with good picks who others have ditched. i mean ask salah owners how they're feeling right now.

Interesting read. I love the set and forget approach. Isak and Solanke have obviously not lived up to expectations so not sure about their inclusion. Triple pool defence is interesting. I still back Arsenal as the best defence in the league. Time will tell

cheers, fair enough. solanke and isak i'd back to come good, but can understand the hesitancy. solanke especially, he's in the box, the six yard box and when the ball starts to fall to him from crosses from the byline or rebounds consistently he won't struggle. if he had just got a brace vs united or brentford (really he should've done in one of these matches) he'd be at 5 ppg right now while still bedding into a new side. isak, class is permanent so fingers crossed as an owner. i guess jackson is there if you want, or you can find the 0.7-1.5mil to get watkins if you'd rather.

pool vs arsenal defence is a fun one this year. need to see liverpool against leipzig and arsenal away but if they hold up well its a struggle to doubt them. and then taa provides attacking potential that for the most part even gabriel cant live up to and konate a price point that doesn't get you into arsenal defence. i like saka/havertz more in terms of value atm than any liverpool attacker as well (maybe injuries changes this and Diaz/Jota/Darwin(even) get consistent minutes and can make their case).

like you said though, time will tell and if FPL was this easy to predict we'd all be top 10k with our eyes closed 😀
