Here's an idea to try and get away from people just posting questions but never giving an opinion on others threads.

Next to the "years" icon and the "membership" icon, have a number that shows New Topics (white) vs Replies (grey). Greater than 0 = replies more than asks, less than 1 shows asks more than replies.

E.g. If you post 1 question you go down to -1
Then reply to someone else, back to zero
    Reply to someone else, +1
Reply to someone else +2 etc etc.
If your reply gets an up arrow extra point too

First few days people will game the system with nonsense replies, but it will settle into a place where regular helpful people will have a high score.

I think most people who don’t actually reply don’t generally get the love and then incessantly post and then cancel themselves. I’m not around a lot any more but if I’ve asked a question I’ll generally float my opinion on questions for a half hour or so

I’m 95% sure on moving Mbeumo to Enzo and then getting Trent.

    Question for the hive:
Myko or Davis out? Not particularly keen on either of them playing in the next 5-6 but Davis would be a better sub this week than Myko I think

When people use "X top 10k finishes" as a mark of authority, those finishes should be within the last 5 years. 99% of content creators live on the fact that they got a few top 10k finishes back when no one played the game seriously

Hmm top 10k is impressive no matter if it was 10 years (and it was something that was authoritative 15 years ago). I think a top 20k-50k finish in the last 5 years is impressive and so completely disagree with your sentiment.

Also it’s not authoritative, it’s about trusting someone’s advice who has played the game and knows what it takes to obtain high ranks

      1. Brosstan
        • 11 Years
        11 months, 27 days ago

A top 50 finish last 3 years says a lot more about your ability than 5 top 10 finishes 10+ years ago is my point. If a "content creator" has nothing expect high finishes ages ago their advice if worth f all.

I'm particularly wary of the content creators who were good at the game once upon a time and have become a lot worse at the game since focusing on CC. Gianni I'm looking your way in particular. Some of them are blatantly doing things which will get clicks rather than be good for their FPL team.

This is less about the number of people that play and more about recency. If I am best in the world at something today, I’m more relevant than the person who is still around who was top of their game 5-10 years ago

There’s definitely some people making money off the back of 1 good/fortunate season.
The problem is the people that buy it and don’t feel they can make their own decisions. The influx of Content creators this last few seasons is absolutely ruining the game.

As long as the finishes since haven’t been consistently 200k+ then I would argue you’re still relevant. I think about a million people play this game seriously. Anything in the top 100k puts you top 10%

If all the top 50k finishes listed were 2015 and earlier then really not. It shows someone who was able to place high when few people tried. If at least one of the top10k finishes was after 2020 then most likely impressive.

It all depends on when you got the high ORs. Curiously content creators rarely tell you when they got their top10k finishes.

This is more impressive than 99% of article authors on FFS.

At the same time it also shows how much easier it was to get good results 10+ years ago. Nowadays good players can easily get results in the 300k+ ranks. Back in the day top 20k was almost a given.

Three top 3K finishes in the last seven years is good, but I also have three recent 300,000+ finishes which is really bad.

I think that it shows if you get in a hole, it's very hard to get out. Whereas when you start off strong, the good decisions often keep compounding.

If the advice presented is logical and somehow backed up with data and some luck is acknowledged due to riding variance, I would not bother much with the background rank. Although consistency year in year out worth noticing as it requires good strategy and discipline to apply and to improve. Just a thought from a non 10K achiever 😛

Álisson Ramsés Becker and he'll set you back a paltry 5.4m.

I still have Haaland despite and his upcoming good run I’m thinking of selling him to fund Saka. Haaland at this point is a differential so I’m considering holding.

Would be interested in thoughts on these moves for free.

    Haaland > Isak
    Mbuemo > Saka
    Rogers > Bruno or Gordon

    Gives me:

    Verbruggen
    Gabriel-Timber-Colwill
    Salah-Palmer-Saka-Bruno
    Wood-Pedro-Isak
    Fabianski/Tuazebe/Milenkovic/Winks

    Thank you.

A: Start Colwill or transfer Greaves to TAA and bench Colwill?

B: Transfer Mbuemo to Enzo and start him, or don’t and start one of Mbuemo / Rogers?

Following this as I’m in a similar spot. I just can’t get over Mbeumo’s single attacking return away from home

I think so I think he is out because he banged his head last match and now there is the compulsory concussion time out and I think it’s two weeks. You can find out online and then work it out. Even if he is not ready this weekend, he is close to being back you should keep now anyway

Wissa to Isak or ESR to Gordon? I have my wildcard still

      Easily Isak for me

Yeah I was leaning this way. Was set on Bruno for ESR but I’d be selling Wissa anyway next week as his fixtures turn now and Bruno is about to drop in price

      • 6 Years

I don't think ESR starts at the weekend. I expect Andreas to come in with Lukic and Berge

ESR is on my bench this weekend anyway. Rogers is my fourth midfielder and if I got Bruno or Gordon, I’d bench Wissa and play them
