Sunday’s action brings an end to our first weekend of the season – a breathless 3-2 victory for Man City providing a fitting conclusion. Here’s our regular Members article, picking out some of the key stats from the weekend’s games…
Just been looking at the comparison tool with Lampard. Very impressive considering he only scored from a penalty.
Open Controlsmy skipper was class today
Open ControlsNot much in the final third though bowstring. Have you tried using the averages checkbox in the compare tool? Using that you can compare Lampard (all matches, season 2012) to Lampard (away matches, season 2011) and see averages for all stats away from home last season compared to today's game.
Open ControlsYou only have to watch Lamps' last two games to see he's not worth 9m for just penalties. There's so many options in that range that he seems a waste. Once again, a DGW has messed my team up (yes, Lamps scored but I don't want him long term).
Open Controls+ 1
spot on his only use was DGW as skipper
then the old boy is toastOpen Controls
Following Southampton's gallant effort today do I start Clyne(WIG) or Zabaleta(liv) next week?
Open ControlsI'll probably be starting both (well Clyne and Lescott) alongside Ivanovic
Open Controls
25 pts on the bench.
Bazinga! 😛Open Controls43 points in first ever week, fairly average i reckon.
taking the risk on aguero playing once as opposed to torres with 2 games not paid off!
if aguero is out any ideas on replacements? was thinking rooney or rvp, also have 3 chelsea players and may want to get shot of at least 1 this weekOpen ControlsJust when I thought I was doing absolutely dreadful... my GW rank currently ends up inside the top 500k, which I always treat as a benchmark to a decent GW score.
Open ControlsWhich do you think will become genuine must haves? And which will be GW1 wonders?
Yes (must have) / No (GW1 Wonders)
Michu
Petric
Dyer
Ivanovic
Nasri
Hazard
KacaOpen ControlsYaya Toure 31.4% ownership.
Never thought I'd see a deep lying midfielder become the most owned player in the game!!!Open ControlsThere's never been anyone quite like Yaya in the PL before!
Open ControlsTo be fair I was torn between him and Nasri when finalising the team. I always seem to choose Nasri at the right times - in the Euros and last year took a punt when he got that 17 point haul or whatever it was
Open ControlsShows how much the CS can influence people's minds.
Open ControlsJoe Allen 5th :O
Open Controls
How does this article give you a clue to the baps? 😕
Open ControlsThe Baps are out...
Open ControlsThis was published after the bonus points came our Mr Rover...

Is it every worth taking a 4 point hit to get a player just to catch an increase in value? I can't help but think that last year towards the end of the season I could have really done with some more funds, especially as some of my rivals seemed to have so much more cash available
Open ControlsYes it works sometimes, sometimes backfires.....
Open ControlsThis guy gives some shocking advice. Watch out
Open Controls
Normally I hardly ever bother with hits. But at the start of the season I think hits to bring in form players with good fixtures who are rising is worth it. Esp. if you have players who are injured, perhaps not starting (like VdV).
Open Controls
Any thoughts on getting rid of Cahill and Sinclair for Ivanovic and Michu? Or a bit too soon in the season for a 4 point hit?
Open Controlsdepends on whether u expect more changes...do u have aguero? do u not have rvp/rooney? etc
ivan change can waitOpen Controls
Michu, Demel and cuellar on the bench. oh dear me. last minute put cuzorla in and took noble out meaning Michu went to bench. Not the best move. And why oh why do I keep captaining Torres first game every season lol.
Open Controlsany info on Aguero's injury (by a doctor/physio etc)
if it is serious i am thinking: Terry- Jagielka then Aguero to Rooney and have .5 on the bench.
The reasoning behind Jag is because Everton have a really easy draw, i counted 6CS in the next 9 weeks plus i have Man UTD cover for next week.Open ControlsI know it makes no sense whatsoever with United away next up, but I am sorely tempted to bring Petric in. He looks the Real Deal to me and a player that could score against anyone, even United (with Carrick in defence!).
Possibly on pens too?
Tell me this is crazy talkOpen Controlsthis is crazy talk
Open ControlsPresume you're not taking a hit yea? I think either use your transfer elsewhere or save it. Petric in GW3 will be a better move.
Open ControlsNo, I idea. I'm thinking of binning Torres, putting Petric in to warm the bench on GW2 before letting him loose after that. I can pocket the £4m difference for a better midfielder and am wondering whether to strike now before Torres loses money and Petric has a hike. Tell me this is stupid too??!!
Open Controls
Want to bring in Michu... but not sure who to take out. Hazard, Cazorla or Silva? Cazorla looking great but poor fixtures. Silva poor but still had four shots in the box and home to QPR in week 3. Hazard has the blank in week 3 but is at home next, albeit it Newcastle.
I'm leaning towards Hazard at the moment. Any suggestions/advice?Open ControlsIif you don't mind keeping Hazard for gw3, I'd do Cazorla but look to get him back in for gw7.
I may be biased though and am praying he won't rise in price as i desperately want him.Open ControlsTa for that... I suppose Arsenal don't have a great record at Stoke and they've plenty of away games coming up. Just seems hard to take a player out that looks so promising!
Open Controls
I'm really skeptical about taking a hit for Rooney. Fulham looked like a totally different team yesterday but having said that they were playing Norwich at home. Just dunno if it'll be a big scoring game, Fulham always seem to keep the defence tight when playing United. Might leave it off a week to think about it.
Open ControlsDunno if it's my dodgy memory but Man U have taken Fulham to the cleaners a few times recently.
That said Fulham do look a stonger/more settled side. But I still can't see them coming away with anything.Open ControlsWith Ferdinand out it also leaves me the dilemma of whether I play Petric or not. Think Fulham might test United in these early weeks. We've seen some crazy results so far 😛
Open Controls
My main plan is to cut down on hits this season. I've been taking way too many of those in recent seasons and I somehow failed to realise the player you bring in, needs to first outscore the substituted one by 4, before he can even start to bring in profit.
Nah, who am I kidding, I won't have the strenght to turn down all those tasty transfers ... :pOpen ControlsYou hadn't planned this already? Jesus, Trout, all the pre-season talk and you mention a hit to get the Pig in in gw2????
Open ControlsWhat is the point in posting this today when United & Rooney haven't even played yet? Completely pointless
Open ControlsJust food for thought. My point was not so much to do with United but more so with Fulham. They looked the real deal but you are right tomorrow will shine more light on the answer
Open Controls
Tricky one with the timing. We all want a Utd player for next week, but who knows whether tomorrow's game will be enough to show us who we can rely on for starts over the next 3 gameweeks or so.
Don't think Rooney is worth 4 points more than Torres next week, or 4 points more then Tevez (if you wanted to captain him as well). Leave it, if you don't have any transfers planned for gameweek 3..
Great first gameweek though! And I thought mine was good!Open ControlsFulham don't enjoy Old Trafford. Will be a different ball game next week. Don't be taking hits though. What did you use your FT on?
Open ControlsHaven't used it yet. Have a million spare and willmake up the other million by downgrading one of Ivan or Lamps... looking like Lamps --> Pienaar/Everton midfielder and then Torres --> Rooney
Open Controls
We beat them 0-5 at Craven Cottage last season. 😀
Open ControlsAnd needed a corrupt ref to ensure win at Old Trafford!
Open Controls
I plan on really trying to take no hits this season.
I like my team but have already kneejerked and went Mata -> Michu.
I now have a full week of 3m burning a whole in my team and looking at my team and seeing pog starting...
3/1 I save my money
evens I make another change before Sat.
Place your bets.....Open Controlsnasri looking good at 8.5...question is how consistent will he be? especially when silva is back to his best
Open ControlsHe isn't looking good, he just had a good game.
Open ControlsIn all fairness I don't think Silva will effect him at all. They'reon opposite sides.Unless Mancini wants to play Milner when the cup games come around I think he should be fine. Bargain player
Open ControlsDid you notice how in the first 20 minutes that every thing was going through Kompany, Zabaletta and Silva. It will affect Nasri substantially
Open ControlsTrue but surely Mancini will see that Nasri's displays both in the CS and today's game are really impressive? He won't be too much short of game time IMO but yes others playing may take the shine from him now and then.
Open Controls
hes a must have
Open Controlsi have yaya...worth the switch?
Open Controls
41 points with possibly 4 to play... if Ramires gets his sorry arse into the field!
Open ControlsOK, knee jerked. Mata to Michu done. Gives me £3m for the possible Torres->RVP switch
Open ControlsSort of finalised my team very last minute but still 46, with 5 to play isn't bad. 🙂
Already done Lampard to Michu to avoid his price rise so that leave 2.5m in the bank. Leaves me with this squad:
Friedel Fed
Lescott A.Cole Clyne Hangeland Demel
Noble Yaya Kagawa Michu Taarbt
Bent Tevez Torres
2.5m in the bank.
Already done one transfer is it worth taking a 4 point hit for next week or just leave it as it is?
Much appreciated lads 🙂Open ControlsI wouldn't bother, mate, it looks like a good side to me.
Open Controls
Which midfielder do I ship for Michu?
A). Bale
B) yaya
C) lamps
D) pienaar
If the answer is D I will need to do it tonight.Open ControlsAny word on Ramires? If he doesn't play on Tuesday I'll be a very happy man. Dyer is on my bench.
Open ControlsWhat's the craic???
Fiso showing no risers, flaw in their equation or not enough trannies done yet?Open Controlshuh? Michu is already on 200% or summat like that
Open ControlsUpper limit is too high. Michu will go up tonight and I sincerely doubt that anyone else will.
Open ControlsOK, cheers boss, am I missing something?????? 🙂
Open ControlsNot really, the system just need calibration, give it a few days
Open ControlsCool, when you replied to SD, I thought he meant there was a new tool on fpl that gave % chance of rises/fallers, nearly shat myself!!!!
Open Controlslol that would be bad news. Make it too easy for the casuals to stay on the ball!!!
Open ControlsAh whoops I meant to say TotalFpl, who also have an inexact system at the moment as their limit is set too low
Open ControlsCheers Einstein, I'll see you at MENSA table quiz friday night 😉
Open Controls
darren bent
a good season or bad ?
thought lambert would make them attacking but they created little yesterdayOpen Controlshow do u delete a random from your mini league?
Open ControlsIt's all downhill for me from here on in. 😆
Open ControlsSo Wigan had new CB syndrome, nothing crazy about that
