Sunday’s action brings an end to our first weekend of the season – a breathless 3-2 victory for Man City providing a fitting conclusion. Here’s our regular Members article, picking out some of the key stats from the weekend’s games…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Just been looking at the comparison tool with Lampard. Very impressive considering he only scored from a penalty.

Not much in the final third though bowstring. Have you tried using the averages checkbox in the compare tool? Using that you can compare Lampard (all matches, season 2012) to Lampard (away matches, season 2011) and see averages for all stats away from home last season compared to today's game.

You only have to watch Lamps' last two games to see he's not worth 9m for just penalties. There's so many options in that range that he seems a waste. Once again, a DGW has messed my team up (yes, Lamps scored but I don't want him long term).

Normally I hardly ever bother with hits. But at the start of the season I think hits to bring in form players with good fixtures who are rising is worth it. Esp. if you have players who are injured, perhaps not starting (like VdV).

any info on Aguero's injury (by a doctor/physio etc)

if it is serious i am thinking: Terry- Jagielka then Aguero to Rooney and have .5 on the bench.

The reasoning behind Jag is because Everton have a really easy draw, i counted 6CS in the next 9 weeks plus i have Man UTD cover for next week.

No, I idea. I'm thinking of binning Torres, putting Petric in to warm the bench on GW2 before letting him loose after that. I can pocket the £4m difference for a better midfielder and am wondering whether to strike now before Torres loses money and Petric has a hike. Tell me this is stupid too??!!

Want to bring in Michu... but not sure who to take out. Hazard, Cazorla or Silva? Cazorla looking great but poor fixtures. Silva poor but still had four shots in the box and home to QPR in week 3. Hazard has the blank in week 3 but is at home next, albeit it Newcastle.

I'm leaning towards Hazard at the moment. Any suggestions/advice?

I'm really skeptical about taking a hit for Rooney. Fulham looked like a totally different team yesterday but having said that they were playing Norwich at home. Just dunno if it'll be a big scoring game, Fulham always seem to keep the defence tight when playing United. Might leave it off a week to think about it.

Dunno if it's my dodgy memory but Man U have taken Fulham to the cleaners a few times recently.

That said Fulham do look a stonger/more settled side. But I still can't see them coming away with anything.

With Ferdinand out it also leaves me the dilemma of whether I play Petric or not. Think Fulham might test United in these early weeks. We've seen some crazy results so far 😛

My main plan is to cut down on hits this season. I've been taking way too many of those in recent seasons and I somehow failed to realise the player you bring in, needs to first outscore the substituted one by 4, before he can even start to bring in profit.

Nah, who am I kidding, I won't have the strenght to turn down all those tasty transfers ... :p

Tricky one with the timing. We all want a Utd player for next week, but who knows whether tomorrow's game will be enough to show us who we can rely on for starts over the next 3 gameweeks or so.

Don't think Rooney is worth 4 points more than Torres next week, or 4 points more then Tevez (if you wanted to captain him as well). Leave it, if you don't have any transfers planned for gameweek 3..

Great first gameweek though! And I thought mine was good!

Fulham could easily have done us at Old Trafford last season, Dembele had a great game. Still though, United should win it comfortably.

In all fairness I don't think Silva will effect him at all. They'reon opposite sides.Unless Mancini wants to play Milner when the cup games come around I think he should be fine. Bargain player

Disagree, he'll eventually see more of the bench than is acceptable for a 8.5 million player.

If you're doing it, get on now before the Champions League starts.

True but surely Mancini will see that Nasri's displays both in the CS and today's game are really impressive? He won't be too much short of game time IMO but yes others playing may take the shine from him now and then.

No, actually, I had planned to downgrade Mata to a 6.5 to get the 3m for GW2 anyway. Was deciding between Pienaar and McClean, but Michu's performance seems a must have. My 3m from the start was well spent.

Sort of finalised my team very last minute but still 46, with 5 to play isn't bad. 🙂
Already done Lampard to Michu to avoid his price rise so that leave 2.5m in the bank. Leaves me with this squad:
    Friedel Fed
    Lescott A.Cole Clyne Hangeland Demel
    Noble Yaya Kagawa Michu Taarbt
    Bent Tevez Torres
    2.5m in the bank.
Already done one transfer is it worth taking a 4 point hit for next week or just leave it as it is?
    Much appreciated lads 🙂
