Having previously assessed the form of forwards and midfielders across the last four Gameweeks, our third Key Performance Indicator (KPI) article of the international break casts an eye over the defenders.

For the unfamiliar, these Key Performers Indicator (KPI) tables use a series of key stats to allow our members to track a trend in player performance as a guide to their form. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics, such as minutes per chance, and comparing them over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain patterns of improvement or decline in these areas. For those unfamiliar, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How does ADM to Sterling sound? Liverpool may have an underperforming Balotelli and a hurt Sturridge but those fixtures look too sweet.

      Hmm, i say no,

Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy, Chadli, Downing, all seem in better form and if downgrading could upgrade defence to CHE?

Who is the best captain for Gameweek 12?

    Diego Costa 41.77% (2,105 votes)
    Sergio Aguero 38.45% (1,938 votes)
    Eden Hazard 4.37% (220 votes)
    Alexis Sanchez 3.93% (198 votes)
    Cesc Fabregas 1.47% (74 votes)
    Graziano Pelle 1.29% (65 votes)
    Leighton Baines 0.99% (50 votes)

    A) How many of these will you have this weekend?
    B) How many of these do you plan to have in the near future?

I made a vow this season to try to Drastically reduce my hits particularly not taking hits to take out players who had potential of doing well for someone who I'm scared of not having, especially if that means breaking up a team that has being doing ok. Tricky. If you definitely want Costa, it seems Fabregas is the only way, that said he still has points in him, so not sure if that's the best idea.

I'd maybe wait a week, Pelle's last good fixtures, Welbeck against his previous team could mean some points there.

I read in the papers here, that UEFA has prohibited TV companies from showing repeated shots of offsides or using the offside line on screen in any EQ, CL or EL match. However I couldn't find a source to this article.

The article itself has reactions from several players and commentators , albeit Slovak and Czech only.

Has anyone else heard of this ?

completely understandable if it's referring to screens at the game though.

Unless it's made part of an official review process (a la American Football), multiple replays on stadium screen just devalues the spectacle and taints the judgment of the referee.

From what I read it should actually apply to TV broadcasting as well, e.g. not only screens at the stadium but all broadcasting of the match.

If it's true I don't really see this as solving the problem of bad decisions, besides hiding it.
At the end of the day referees are human and prone to make mistakes, but surely there can be other solutions for the game to be played fairly and according to the rules.

Yeh true mate. Got 4 doubtful and now Sakhos fixtures don't look that great am thinking of doing ADM to someone so I can upgrade Sakho to Welbeck or Pellle

I'd wait til the end of today and then if ADM still out/doubt I think it could be a good idea to switch him.

As for Pelle, he has Aston Villa now and after that he has a long list of tough fixtures, so maybe not the best idea.

Dean Marney has got to be my worst FPL pick ever 😀

    1 goal attempt
    3 chances created
    6 penalty box touches

Neither have I, but now I'm stuck with him and some flags in my team.

Wasn't expecting much, but certainly more than this. He was so popular here before the season started 😀

I think he was popular for his nailed-on 90min when fit. As has been proven.

Can't say the same for Albrighton nor Isgrove 🙂

the only negative about him is that he drops 0.1m of his price..still better than albrighton isgrove 😀

Cahill- Baines and Mane- Oscar AFTER this GW..
or forget about Baines and just go..

Oscar in for Mané for this week?

    Howard, Gilks
    Cahill, Clyne, Chambers, Wisdom, Naylor
    Sanchez, Downing, Mane, Siggy, Marney
    Aguero, Welbeck, Costa,

    1ft, 2.8m in the account.

Cheers but that suggestion doesn't solve much.

Maybe just focus on Baines in for Clyne after this GW?

Wouldn't be able to go for Oscar then..
        Unless I forget about Baines..
        It's a tough one.

i’d be tempted to save if Mane is fit but then, will he start?

I wish it were that easy..

In 2 or 3 games time..
Am i better off with Baines/Oscar or Cahill/Mané..

        Im thinking the former..

Best Transfer? All transfer options are for a -4 hit:

A] Pelle & Fabregas >>> Costa and Siggy
B] Bertrand & Clyne >>> Terry and Yun
    C] Bertrand & Fabregas >>> W Reid and Hazard
    D] Save FT

I've already taken a -4 hit. If Baines is out I'll probably sell him & buy Azpi assuming Hutton & Moore are out as well. I'll re-buy Baines if necessary as I have Ivan as well as I'll only have a scrape up an extra 0.2.

    Will give me:
    Krul (Elliott)
    Ivan, Azpi, Clyne (Moore, Hutton)
    Sanchez, Tadic, Downing, Chadli (Boyd)
    Aguero, Costa (c), Pelle.

    Cheers.

Was holding sterling for Sturridge return but given he's gone I'm gonna swap him for Oscar.

Question : is sterling to Oscar worth a hit?
