As more of the premium Fantasy Premier League assets return to their clubs following the World Cup, the debate over which of them to include has ramped up this week.

Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard have all been at the centre of discussions while Everton seem to be the team everybody is talking about.

Here’s the latest from our community this week.

Community Articles

WesMantooth went searching for value this week and did an in-depth comparison between points-per-million and value added per million.

Rossi3254 broke down the arguments for and against Harry Kane, while MathewNixon examined the potential impact of Marco Silva on Everton’s FPL assets.

The Hottest Topics

The old debate of form versus fixtures was the subject of much debate this week as Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) continues to perform well ahead of some difficult matches with West Ham in 2018/19. Original Pirate Material believes he can still score against the big teams.

With Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) returning to match action with Liverpool this week, naturally there were several conversations concerning the Egyptian. Sanchit put out a request for the pros and cons of owning Salah and whether there were any advantages to leaving him out.

Deulofale was keen to sample thoughts on which assets outside of Salah (and Alexis Sanchez) managers are consdering captaining in the first two Gameweeks.

Another big-name player to get the ‘yes or no’ treatment this week was Sergio Aguero (£11.0m). Mikeharbrw began the discussion on whether the Manchester City man is worth having this season. Final Fantasy XI asked the same question of Eden Hazard.

With Liverpool’s defence looking strong this year, Berbinho’s Forehead drew attention to the case for investing in goalkeeper Alisson Becker (£5.5m). On the other side of the river Mersey, plenty of Everton options have been catching our eye too.

Finally, we have already started to cast our minds a few weeks into the 2018/19 season as Geoff asked the community when they were planning on using their first Wildcard.

Members Tables

manchesterfordutd looked at a way of comparing midfielders for their ability to either score or assist in his latest table.

Meanwhile, choppers13 analysed the form of players from the second half of 2017/18 to see which of them can pick up where they left off next term.

Community Tournaments

A reminder to all that we always welcome new Community Article submissions. It is best to email me when submitting a Community Article, as there isn’t currently an automated notification letting us know it has been submitted.

Equally, if you have an idea for a Hot Topic or discussion that needs more visibility, feel free to flag it or email me directly: geoff@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

And finally, another reminder to use your voting powers. Upvotes help mods spot useful content, as we often use the ‘Sort By: Rating’ functionality, which we can then sticky or Hot Topic it. This is increasingly important as we approach the beginning of the season!

Far more worse, Zaha is so crucial for Palace as he directly scores/assists the majority of their goals and his dribbling helps them relieve pressure. Without him there they could easily get relegated if they don't spend wisely.

    Ederson
    Alonso / Robertson / Maguire
    Salah / Erikson / Neves / Loftus-Cheek
    Aguero / Firmino / Austin

    Bench
Fabianski / Masuaku / Peltier / Bennett (wolves)

    Erikson or Sane??
Will Loftus-Cheek get gametime at Chelsea
Any suggestions or thoughts on replacements much appreciated

Talking purely of the your Wolves choices (coming from a Wolves fan), you might want to consider Jota over Neves. A far more attacking threat than “only scores worldies” Neves. Great player but in FPL I’d be going for Jota. He was dangerous in basically every game last season.

Forward lines will be decimated if Aguero continues partying , Auba plays out on the left , Bobby F gets back late and Zaha is transfered. Lovely mayhem.

    Stekelenburg/Tomkins/Cedric/Stephens

Too early to tell if he will take them this year. The Jota factor plus lots of other new signings who we haven’t really seen enough of to know who will be on them.

To answer the post, probably Neves.

Thoughts on this back line please.

    Mendy - Robertson - Bailly - Cedric - Peltier

Reason for posting is that I feel I have a strong 11, but nothing on the bench in the way of at least a half decent option if needed.

Would you cut one of Mendy, Robbo or Bailly to free up a little bit of cash to spread around the bench?

    Cheers.

Alderwiereld is odds on to join United.

      Presently it’s two of

      Bailly
      Jones
      Smalling
      Lindelof
      Rojo

I’m not convinced Bailly will play enough until one of the others is sold. Maybe he will. Just too risky for my liking.

was set on Foster as my goalkeeper but him not even being in the matchday squad today has me spooked , so i think i might go for Ryan instead and play him through his tough fixtures and hope for some save points, the first game against Watford has 0-0 written all over it though 🙂

but the important question is who is Brightons number 2 goalie, Button or Steele ? i need to know this so i can stick him on my bench 😆

Only one of Gomez, Matip, Klavan and Lovren can partner VVD.

Fine if your bench is good enough and you’re happy with the rotation risks.

Personally I think it’s too preemptive planning your 5.0 defender five weeks in advance or leaving him on the bench knowing he’ll miss GW1 and has to fight Gomez for a spot back.
