    Price Changes 11 January

      Cheers Rainy.

I find it interesting that FFH claims their accuracy for predicting price rises is 99%. This 99% claim has to be a joke. They have been far from 99% accuracy for a while.

Today they had indicated that there would be 13 players with price changes.

      FFH Predicted Risers:
      Estupinan - Y
      De Bruyne - Y
      Porro - Y
      Pedro - Y
      Gross - N
      Areola - N
      Saka - N

      FFH Predicted Fallers:
      Salah - N
      Son - N
      Kudus - N
      Szoboszlai - N
      Tsimikas - Y

      5/13.

This 99% is surely a fabrication as these prediction discrepancies have been happening all season and yet it remains listed at "99%" accurate.

Thats a fair point to be honest, although I wouldn't expect them to be able to get 99% when FPL are messing about with prices. They have clearly stopped Haaland price from falling further, and are now going to do the same with Salah and Son most likely.

Daily net transfers above the threshold for a rise/fall are discounted, which makes linear comparisons impossible. And gived Haaland's ownership was over 7 million in GW1, he's never going to have the ups and downs of, say, Cold Palmer

Have a look at his SB column in FPL, leading up to his injury and just after. He shed so many managers in such a short period of time, odds are many of those transfers were beyond the daily drop threshold and were discounted

Yep. Good point. The algorithm is affected by FPL Towers interference too.
I a so tired of trying to work these things out for myself I let the forums sort it out for me.
It would be nice if FPL did a page like FPL stats and the the planning will be more constructive for all.

What manipulation? High ownership players need a high number of non wildcard sellers to fall.

Every player you listed has high ownership of dead teams which acts as a fall prevention. Its not manipulation, its how the algorithm has always worked.

If you look at the coding on their website it is purely a static number they have input. There's no script or calculation providing the result.

I also find that as a flawed intent, they are predicting drops and risers and providing when they predict it will happen. So the accuracy should be based on those predictions happening when they say they happen; not include all the fluff in the middle.

I agree but I would guess that is the rationale behind 99%.

Personally I've always found them pretty good on the rises, and less good on the falls as they predict drops for flagged players way earlier than it happens. Which aligns to the results today IMO

I think there is something systemic in their prediction model that doesn't pick up something in the FPL algorithm with falls. I don't think it's flagrant price manipulation like others, just a lack of transparency

Think of the numbers, they predicted every other player wouldn't rise and were correct. They got a few wrong.

That probably how the claim is made

99% probably comes from all players
Each day they claim that virtually all the players will not rise nor fall so they get 99% correct

Don't they claim 99% accuracy in predicting PRICE CHANGES? If so, all the other players keeping the price don't matter. They are all over the place and nowhere near 99%

    RP from old article.

    Thoughts on this ?

    Plan A:
    Son to Gross/Rich
    Lascelles to Estu

and bench Trent and Salah for this GW.

Next deadline is 3 weeks away and we'll get proper updates on how Trent's injury is and How Mo and Egypt are looking can delay the decision on them till then.

    Plan B:
    Son to Gross/Rich
    Save FT
Sell Salah or Trent to Fund Halaand in for free next week.

Only works if Taylor is fit.

    Plan C
    Son to Gross
    Trent to Estu

    Salah Lascelles Taylor bench

Leaves enough funds for Darwin to Haaland for free and can keep Salah on the bench

with Salah, Son, Bowen, Jesus, Senesi all flagged i was seriously considering a WC, but have since decided against it, did Bowen to Garnacho with my FT (which leaves plenty itb for me to get Haaland in for Alvarez when the time is right), and i also have Senesi coming back next week too to ease the pressure a little bit, i'm unsure about the Jesus situation so might do him to Toney this week and captain him, i just feel it is written in the stars that he'll haul on his first game back 🙂

Anything worth a hit here? I think I can survive this week, but confused if there is a longer term move worthwhile. I would like to do Hwang to Palmer but that could give me trouble in GW26 blank. Any other ideas?

    Areola
    Porro - Udogie - Saliba - Taylor
    Foden (C) - Rich - Bowen
    Haaland - Alvarez - Watkins

Subs: Gordon - Lascelles - Hwang
Gordon probably comes on for Bowen.

He isn't nailed to start wether Salah is there or not. He's been out for a while and Nunez and Diaz is first choices. Leaving one spot for Jota, Eliott and Gakpo. But he's productive when he play so can see the merits for a short punt. He'll score vs Arsenal.

Most of us are in similar situations.
Take it on the chin with a low scoring week IMO and wait for GW22 news.
    TAA is a question mark.
Getting Haaland can wait to the next GW maybe.
Try and get through the week with 1 playing sub.
    Leave Bowen but don't buy.
Salah likely to return before Son.
Avoid rotation picks and go safe. (Gross Saka Palmer)

My bad. It would be a decision according to individual teams. You cannot go badly wrong with either.
I did Estupinan last night to enable Haaland next wee for example and have 3 playing defenders. For others, it may require a Salah sacrifice if carrying poorer midfield enablers.
So I still not answered your question

Some folks don't really think TAA is hurt that bad. Stupidnan is not that good. That defense can give up 3 or 4 any given weekend

TAA could be back soon enough

    Areola
    Porro Estu Doughty
    Palmer Foden Rashford(c) Neto Saka
    Haaland Watkins

    Bench: Turner, Pedro, Gusto, Baldock.

    GTG?

Funds ITB to bring in Salah and Son for Foden/Rashford (or Saka if he is still struggling).

Oh me oh my what a week.
I was lashing myself about Cole Palmer on my bench and selling Areola 2 weeks prior BUT nevertheless, that's the game and a lot of podcast content ha made me feel normal about that.

Now what to do with Salah/TAA/Bowen?!

I have already done Bowen to Gross and was planning on actually holding Trent.
Salah I want a GW of information before I decide what to do.
    Is this insanity?

I have no bench this GW as it stands but happy enough with Gusto as my 11th man

2FT and the same TAA, Salah & Son issues to deal with

    A) Son & TAA to Garnacho & Estu. Save funds for Mubama to Haaland in 22

    B) Son & TAA to Rashford/Jota/Foden & Estu. Would need to take a hit or lose Watkins for Haaland

    C) Salah & Son to Jota/Foden & Garnacho. Can do Mubama to Haaland in 22

I’m liking Garnacho as an enable to hold Salah or TAA. Had Salah since GW1 so a lot of value built in

Increased value in Salah should not be a factor in your decision making imo.

    Martinez
    Porro Walker Gusto
    Gross Saka Palmer Bowen
    Alvarez Watkins Solanke

    Turner. Trent Salah Senesi

    2 FTs, £2.3m itb.

Are Trent and Salah the obvious transfers out here? To who is another question...

I guess Estu and Foden would be popular.

I think if folks can keep Salah for 1 more GW and have funds for a straightforward move to Haaland then this would be the ideal situation. This allows you to see how Egypt progress in AFCON and more clarity in doubles/blanks

Just finalized my WC. Enough ITB (14.7) to bring back TAA, Salah & Haaland for Porro, Foden & Toney. If we assume Chelsea and Liverpool will be in the final and the DGW25 is going ahead, then I will have 5 doublers in GW25 and 3 blankers in GW26 if I sell Doughty after 25.

    Areola
    Porro - Estupinan - Doughty
    Saka - Foden - Gross - Palmer
    Watkins - Toney - Solanke

    (Dubravka, Garnacho, Walker, Taylor)

Beware potential City triple up (ahead of potential DGW25) bearing gifts...if the double does indeed land then, factoring in their away CL match with Copenhagen, they're playing five fixtures in fourteen days, nothin new for them or others in recent times but the roulette wheel could be in hyperdrive...hope this doesn't come across as patronising, looked at the option myself and swerved it

        Ye I know - Thanks.
That’s why my picks will be Haaland and Walker at that point in time.
Hope they start 4 or 5 out of 5 if so!
