    Henderson
    Gabriel Gvardiol Robinson (VandenBerg 4.0)
    Saka Mbeumo Rogers Johnson (ESR)
    Haaland Watkins Havertz

I could afford this now but would take 4 moves. Is playing 1 of 3 four mil defender each week and no bench worth the starting 11 or way too risky?

    Raya

    TAA Lewis Van den Berg

    Palmer Saka Foden Mbeumo Rogers

    Haaland Delap

    Valdimarsson Keane Greaves Wheatley

Nah. I think its a possible option. CS are few and far between. I am playing players like Davis hoping for an attacking return. There's not that much difference between someone like Greaves and Davis when Davis aint getting attacking returns.

I won’t deny it’s tempting. Some sacrifices but
Raya Trent and Lewis I am happy with.
The prem mids and Mbeumo get close to that category
            And still have Haaland.
A glance at how this season is going once again bar a few exception the players hauling are mids . The game just favours them.

I like it, but you 4.0 will be against my ait-nouri for example. But your attack is stronger so its balanced. Its not as bad as you think.

Yeah if there wasn’t much rotation of Lewis and Foden and they all clicked some weeks there could be monster scores. The 3 or 4 enabler down even matter in that scenario.

you will always have a player, or defender who gets nothing. You may as well pick which one.

                    🙂
But serious that is never a part of the game than is discussed.
Phrased like at least I got 2 points off my bench. In the overall scheme of things might as well have got nothing. You could have 12 weeks of nothing off the bench made up for by Palmers haul last week.

Only 1 FT won’t take a minus 12 but might just keep an eye on price changes for the 8 involved and make moves if needed so it stays as a option. Problem is Palmer in is a -8 no matter what changes I make.

No plus I don't like Foden. Too much guaranteed rotation for his price. Much rather Solanke and spread funds

        That’s where I am now.
        Pau ESR Solanke and DCL
        To
        Keane Palmer Delap and Wheatley
        Would be the moves.
Villa defence has done nothing and DCL can’t hit a barn door even if his hold up play was good. So I could claim it’s 2-3 upgrades and 1-2 downgrades But in reality it’s probably 3 downgrades and a much weaker bench.

The original plan was just Saka to Palmer in 9 when I would have 2FT.
This is probably just playing with the team and possibilities while bored for 2 weeks.

No from me. I used one of my FTs this week to move one of my 4.0s > Lewis. It was always intended as a temporary measure.

I don't think it's sustainable long term since the 4.0 defenders are Greaves, VdB and Bednarek none of whom are in decent defenses.

Think about it this way, if you have a 4.0 defender getting 1 point every week, your expensive player you are enabling has to score the equivalent of 2 players' worth of points.

Agree it’s not sustainable but I also think Palmer is worth 2 of most players in the game especially for that .5 from a 4.0 to a 4.5
The sensible call hear is a half way house with something like a Trent downgrade for more balance. I just got to wrap my head around a no Trent team.

Appreciate all the replies. Taking on board the comments a quick draft without Trent and .4 left ITB gives this.

      Raya

      VDV Lewis Van den Berg

      Palmer Saka Foden Mbeumo Rogers

      Haaland Solanke

      Valdimarsson 4.4 def Greaves Wheatley

It really comes down to Solanke or Trent and a slightly improved bench with Solanke.

I don’t like the Foden shout. Downgrade to anyone else and upgrade the defence and attack.

Unsure whether to sell Robinson now ahead of the price changes to keep the 0.1m value or wait until the end of the international break. Ordinarily I would wait but given the amount of decent midfielders firing now, I am conscious of the importance of team value

He’s got none of them, maybe you should actually look at the team before spouting off? Looking at it briefly has had as little luck as many - still owns Pedro, transferred out Wissa this week, has that Aston Villa 4.0 that never ended up playing - so perhaps there’s something in the structure. Alternative is dismiss his approach without any examination and keep following the template, avg. rank 2.5m.

as I said, bookmark him and tell us where he is in 4 weeks. Its not sustainable relying on Palmer 4 goal hauls and double arsenal conceding to trash teams. Only chance he has is to wc to a good team.

Gotta go with Cyan here. The guy did 1 transfer for the GW, Wissa to Antonio.
Antonio hasn't played 90 mins all season, had a grand total of 12 points his first 6 games and then goes off with 1 goal & 3 assists. That's just dumb luck, he took a punt and it paid off, good for him.

You can easily find his entire squad and work it out.

His defense has Lewis as its most expensive premium, and two 4.0 DEF (1 not playing). Outside of the big 4 his other 4 attackers are all 5-5.5M.

They’ve just made different compromises to the majority.

Depends on how much you bought him for.

If you bought at 7.8m then he can drop 0.1m with no change in sell value.

If you bought at 7.7m then even one 0.1m drop will cause the sell price to go down to 7.8m.

Honestly, I have zero interest currently. Would need a change in manager and at least a few games of promise for me to change my mind.

United look like they could be in a death spiral. Spurs mids are way better value imo. They have similarly good fixtures but better stats and better team form.

Brennan, Kulu, Maddison take your pick.

You’re probably right. I’m still not sold on Spurs though. Their win against United is misleading because it was against ten men for most of the game. If Johnson does well against Brighton though I will definitely consider him.

I don't get this line of thinking. Was their win against Brentford misleading? The win midweek in Budapest? It's not who you play, it's how you play. Winning breeds confidence, confidence brings belief.
They have players who have come into some good form and are definatly FPL relevant.

          1. Amartey Partey
            • 6 Years

They had mixed results before that like a draw with Leicester for example. If I had the cash I’d probably bring in Solanke again as he’s a proven FPL asset. In regards to the midfield I’m just not sure who the stand out player is just yet.

True, they did have mixed results, certainly won't argue that. But my philosophy has always been to try and be ahead of the curve and bring players in when they look like they are hitting some form.
Case in point, Raul Jimenez. I got him in 3 weeks ago and he has continued to produce. He's actually outscored Haaland over the past 4 weeks and is 10 Million cheaper.

Good question. I also own Semenyo and included him in my team with the aim of ditching him at this point. We've got 2 weeks to research, so I'll take that time to weigh things up. Martinelli has come in to some decent form but is a minutes risk, would be nice to have some sort of timeline on Odegaard.
Barnes has had a decent run but Newcastle fixtures are about to get much tougher. Kovacic seems like just chasing yesterdays points, and I tend to avoid Man City assets because of Pep Roulette.
Johnson has come in to some form and Spurs have a decent run of fixtures.
Of the above, I'd probably lean towards Johnson.

      For Saka’s “tougher“ fixture swing?

      1. Ausman
        • 2 Years

Saka is one guy that I rate as fixture proof, and is the swing really that tough? Liverpool at the Emirates, Newcastle and Chelsea away.
Liverpool may be on top of the table, but what have they beaten? One team inside the top 10, and haven't played any of the top 5.
Newcastle haven't done much. Granted the draw with City was an admirable performance, but nothing else. Chelsea are similar, two big wins in games that were end to end "chaos ball" Less effective against more organised defences.
I'm not really that concerned with the "fixture swing" as I don't see it as a major issue.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the Liverpool vs Chelsea game is a high scoring 3-3 draw or something so I’d hold onto Salah for now if you have him. I’m captaining him myself.

Agreed. It’s Salah though and he loves a big fixture at home. Defensively I can see them struggle against Palmer and co.

Agree Liverpool haven't been convincing, but neither have Chelsea against organised defences. Has more of a 1-1 feel IMO. I'll be holding Jackson though.

Haaland blanks 2 game weeks in a row, just after all the non Haaland owners ripped up their teams and brought him in on Wild Card.

Will be interesting how the brave non Haaland / Salah teams with better strength across the 11 starters do this season when it is all evened out.

If Palmer hauls after Saka also hauling there will be an entertaining frenzy of no Haaland drafts

      1. Hotdogs for Tea

Yes, there are probably 3 starters in Haaland drafts that are only really there because of lack of funds, and when they fail or even don't start and Haaland fails too it is a hard day at FPL.

The flip side is that when Haaland C hauls it's gravy time

Ye the question is whether you own Haaland but pick a different captain when the fixture is right, or go no Haaland. Different captain is enough for me

I think if you own him you captain him otherwise his effective ownership will mean negative points as an owner (ignoring your other captain points for a moment) with every goal he scores sending you down in rank

Haaland's xG seems to be halving every game, down to just 0.25 yesterday from a peak of nearly 1.8 v Ipswich/West Ham. Something is wrong but Wolves should rectify things.

There were times last season where Haaland was used as a decoy and City went round the back of the opposition that had 2 or 3 players crowding him out, so not surprising he gets games without much of a goal scoring opportunity.

Of course e he can make something out of nothing

        1. Ausman
          • 2 Years

Nobody can take over Rodri's role, because nobody has the vision and anticipation he has.
I tried to make this point when he got injured but certain posters on here told me I was wrong. Here we are with no Rodri the past couple weeks and Haaland has blanked twice. The stats don't lie, Haaland doesn't score as well without Rodri, that's no slight on Haaland, it's just the fact that Rodri is the engine that drives the machine.
Replacing Rodri is like trying to replace Messi with Havertz. You can't replace a generational, gifted talent with a good solid player, it doesn't work.
Pep has the system built around Rodri because he is the best player, the organiser, the glue. I'm sure Pep and the players will find a way, but it's going to take time to get a rhythm back, and the main thing for them is to focus on getting the results they need.

Bounanotte alongside Rogers to accommodate all of Palmer, Saka and Haaland might be on the cards.

Crazy times for cs. Don't even know whether the premiums will get more cs than the cheapies. Even arse not keeping them. Better to push the money forward?

Leaning that way. Might ditch Robertson to help fund Palmer soon.

Arsenal and Pool are still essential for me. No more.

Nice and brave not to go with Haaland when everybody was. Good luck! I am on 35 with Watkins and Rogers to go
